11.10 PBP night & day (all day games, or reversed)

why is it that whenever i play calendar marked day games .. the pbp screen displays the night-time stadium? (and vice versa for calendar marked night games.)Any solutions?

The sky is dark for day games, and bright blue for night games?

Can you check that you have the correct art. From the Help Menu choose 'Open Game Folder'. Then go into the following sub-folder:

\Skins\SportsMogul\News\PBP

You should see the following 4 files:
PBP-Catcher-Day.jpg
PBP-Catcher-Night.jpg
PBP-Stadium-Day.jpg
PBP-Stadium-Night.jpg

These are the default stadium (top) views and catcher (bottom) views in the PBP-screen. The "night" files should show a night game and the "day" files should show a day game.

Both day and night catcher/stadium views seem to be in the right place....Ill check back if problem continues to occur.

Check this out.Im playing a calendar marked night game and PBP screens are daytime.I save mid-way through game and when i decide to resume play the PBP screens switches to the night-time view.The next game on schedule is against the Rockies(10:10 start),and i get the same problem.

I have two .JPG files....PBP-day and PBP-night.JPG.bak.

I have two .JPG files....PBP-day and PBP-night.JPG.bak.If they end in .bak, they aren't going to be read as jpg files. It's possible the upgrade didn't complete 100%.

You could try installing it again.

You might also have success by just deleting the ".bak" from the ends of the file names.

Thanxx i'll give it a shot.

I re-installed 10.29 now have all JPG's(catcher day etc.) but now all calendar marked nightime games have daytime stadium/catcher view.A while back i installed some stadium mods in the original SPORTSMOGUL/SKINS folder,could that have something to do with it?

P.S. I have since removed those stadium mods and reverted back to the default PBP screens and they worked just fine...this problem im having began just recently

Run the original installer and choose the "repair" option. Then, update to 10.29 again and test that it works correctly. I'm betting that the mods that you said you installed earlier messed up some of the standard files in the SportsMogul Skin, and the "repair" option will fix them.

Well, the repair option should have made it exactly the same as a reinstall...

Let's verify what Clay asked above again, now that you have done the repair thing. so:

All of my stadium/catcher JPG's end with .back
(EXAMPLE catcher-day.jpg.back) I tried deleting the .back from file but it wont allow me to change name because apparently one with same name already exists.

Well, that means that the file exists already, then. You've probably got the option to "hide file extensions for known types" checked in View -> Options -> the Advanced tab.

Anyway, look for each and open them. The should open in paint (or another program, if you installed any other graphics programs) and make sure that the one with the "Day" name has the blue sky, and the one with the "night" names have the dark sky.

Only if you chance the view to "thumbnail".

I was just going to come back here to say the same thing. I just tested this out, and found that their all "day" pictures, for me.

Working on it right now actually. Just verifying, do you have the 'night art' for day games and the 'day art' for night games for EVERY game?

I must,only because when i start a game its day time...if i save midway and resume game later on it becomes night time.

I was just going to come back here to say the same thing. I just tested this out, and found that their all "day" pictures, for me.This seems to indicate that the correct 'stadium view' and 'catcher view' art isn't getting loaded. Or perhaps didn't get copied over correctly when the patch installed. I say this because the old default art showed a daytime stadium (which should be 'written over' by the appropriate stadium photo).

I'm attaching the stadium photos from my folder. If you unzip these in Skins/SportsMogul/News/PBP, it may fix the issue.

Testing this now. prior to installing the art you've provided, I just went in an verified for sure that every PBP game was showing the daylight graphic for games at all times.

I've now installed the graphics that you've provided. Note that all files did exist prior to replacing them, and the time stamps and sizes all appeared to be the same (I should have paid more attention to this, now that I think about it).
Playing a test game now... same issue. Evey single game is using the PBP-Stadium-day and PBP-Catcher-Day graphic. Both the day and night files definitely do exist, and the night graphics do have a dark sky when I look at the files specifically, so I don't think that the files are being confused or anything like that. What interests me is that I'm seeing all games as day games, and Tony is seeing them as reversed. I'm not sure where to begin looking for the problem, with that in mind.

Since 10.29 patch all games are daytime for me as well ,but like ive said in previous posts...... i save midway through the(daystadium) game then when i resume saved game it switches to the nighttime stadium.The game loads up the night time stadium but only after resuming a saved game.Pretty strange.

This concerns a question a asked before in the General area. Apparently this patch DID change files in the skins folder, so how does that affect players who use a skin other than Sports Mogul????? Does the patch automatically update the affected files in ALL skins folders or just the Sports Mogul folder??? This would mean players who use other Skins folders have to make adjustments, correct??? Or am I misunderstanding something here??? Wouldn't be the first time for that.:p

It doesn't affect you. The files in the SportsMogul folder and the default files, so if there isn't a replacement file for it in a custom skin then the file in the SportsMogul skin is what is used.
If a custom skin were to add new backgrounds for the stadium art, then they would replace the art in the SportsMogul skin.

Ameriquest Field will not dispaly the night stadium. Both stadiums work when separately used (Renamed night and removed day from folder) in the game but only the day stadium shows when both are present. 7:05 start time for night games. Here's the two stadiums.

Actually, after doing a lot more of 'em, no night stadiums work. :confused: All of the stadiums with the day designation do work fine though.

When I open my BBM all games are displayed in day backgrounds whether its a day game or a nite game, but if I save the game and then reopen BBM the backgrounds are displayed approriately, and it will change accordingly til I close it, anyone know why and what I gotta do to fix it? Btw I'm playing 10.31. Thx in advance

I merged your thread with this one. As you can now see by reading above, there has been some history behind this issue for a little while now. I'm not exactly sure where the issue stands at the moment, though.
