how about not having players making less than minimum salary when a game starts?

im not talking about the youngsters making 30k per til arbitration, but players like 36 year old mike dejean starting his 11th season and making 15k for the year or 36 year old matt herges starting his 9th season making 12k

If they're sjgned to minor league contracts, in both the game and in real life, they do get paid less than the major league minimum salary while playing in the minors. You'll notice if you move these guys to the majors, they're salary will change to the major league minimum (that's different than in real life, as minor league contracts say something like "$800K if added to 25-man roster").

This would be a great subject to give attention to for the 2009 beta. The whole contract system could use a minor overhaul at this point, in my opinion.
