Hi,

been looking thru the boards and decided it might be fun to have a vote on what is the all time stupidest flame war.

but first we need to decide how many flamewars to choose from and how to go about judging their criteria for "stupidest".

so, for starters,
lets vote on how many flamewars should be included in the voting

I think this has the potential to START flamewars...

Funny stuff Mets.

I think we should start concentrating on
1) helping posters that need actual help/information
2) identifying bugs and possible resolutions (in a positive manner)
3) comic relief and fun stories.

Flaming, fighting, arguing about statistical measurement accuracies, and the possible inhuman effects of a not-yet-even-fathomed change to the game should be somewhere WAY below those three.

But i don't want to force my opinion on anyone...so that's how I will be using these boards. :)

Haha, good point. I should change my handle...ah well, too late now.

When I was in high school (god, 8 years ago) I knew nothing about computers; my friend was into bad hardcore and he kept giving me sign-in names and usernames of Alloutwar, which was his favorite crappy hardcore band.

so now...I use Alloutwar as the default...although I am an environmentalist, computer programmer, love mother earth nerdy-type.

funny, eh?

Good stuff. I'd have to go digging because I'm sure that I've probably been involved in some of the best (worst) flame wars. Old Williethebassett (before he returned all mature and whatnot) is classic stuff too. ;)

When any of you get a chance, take the opportunity to go back to the oldest threads in this (ejections) forum. Great stuff, back there.
lol

*bangs head*

"NO you're on drugs!
I go:
Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking.
She goes:
No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way!
I go:
Mom just give me a Pepsi please
All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.
Just a Pepsi.

They give you a white shirt with long sleeves
Tied around you're back, you're treated like thieves
Drug you up because they're lazy
It's too much work to help a crazy

I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized"

*bangs head*

lol
Love that song!

Lol, or "I Saw Your Mommy". (later stolen nearly note for note by Puddle of Mud for the song "She Hates Me" Then again, I didn't actually have to learn the song, I already knew how to play it. :))

Alloutwar

Puddle of Mud sucks. Suicidal Tendencies was funny...pre-Adam Sandler, a little darker maybe.

The "dude with the cowbell" is from SNL. SNL is that show that was wicked funny back in the late 70's, then not funny at all except for Eddie Murphy, then really not funny at all since - EXCEPT when Christopher Walken guest stars.

In this case, he was managing the band Blue Oyster Cult during the recording of "Don't Fear the Reaper" and he wanted MORE COWBELL. Hilarious sketch. Will Ferrell later reprised his "Cowbell" role while various musical acts were onstage.

Its up there with the Continental and Colonal Angus.

ive gotta condo made-uh stone-uh

i was thinking that kinda looked like will ferrell and
that the expression looked like an "affectation".
not that theres anything wrong with that,

i simply found the avatar vs screenname to be amusingly incongruous.:D

and was attempting a subliminal double entendre on flame war ;)

ps - im a little strange.

pps - she hates me is so easy , i learned it while on stage.

ppps - try "bloodsucking leeches" instead

Quit trying to act like moderator. You've really been getting under my skin recently.

Coach Owens

How have I been trying to act like a moderator? Up there I was joking, hence the horrible spelling, grammar and the winking smily thing.

ohms_law

Yea well, that's fine here (specifically, in Ejections). You tend to post that sort of comment all over the place though, which is when it gets aggravating. What's worse is that such behavior, in places where there really is a problem going on, tends to provoke a more argumentative attitude from others who have been involved.

Coach Owens
10-22-2007, 01:03 AM
And in the argument between MDM and HGM, I was just trying to stop it from getting too bad. It's always bad when people get into fights about ridiculous topics.

HoustonGM
10-22-2007, 01:04 AM
You do seem to come into civil debates, and even mere discussions, and make comments along the lines of "Stop fighting!"

Coach Owens
10-22-2007, 01:14 AM
Is that necessarily a bad thing? :D

HoustonGM
10-22-2007, 01:16 AM
It's not necessary.

*shrug*

Coach Owens

{It's always bad when people get into fights about ridiculous topics.}

i agree completely.

i truly think AllOutwar's initial reply in this thread is about as spot on as it can get.
a recent reaction might termed as an attempt at a decisive pre-emptive strike.
the thread you are in now was created to illustrate the pointlessness of such things.
because ,well, you'll see ... you might want to get some coffee

maybe we can all go play a season or 2 now ???? :p
