but his first season wasnt until like 03 or 04 so starting in 2001 would mean he would be a rookie, hence why he is one of their top prospects

Right, but you shouldn't be a prospect if you've already passed your peak...

Maybe their minor league system is pretty week!

He's a rookie who has a late peak start and end because he started the MLB in his mid 30's. That's not a bug.
