View Full Version : Pitching Rotation Problem

I just signed Jose Lima and I want him to make a spot start. I replaced him with the pitcher that was next in the rotation and on the pitching screen it shows Lima as the next starter and when you put the mouse over the game it projects him as the starter as well. Now in strategies, I put the start on short rest all the way down so it basically never happens.

There still is a problem though. No matter what I do, when I go to the game, they skip Lima's start. I tried things such as going to three man rotation with the other two guys injured and having Lima the man to start, but instead they just use someone from the bullpen. I don't know what to do and don't know if there is anything I can do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Obviously, the game is preventing you from making the decision to use such a horrible pitcher. :p

Just kidding.

Honestly, I don't know. Never seen anything like this.

Haha. That is what my brother said. I know I shouldn't use him as I have better guys in the minors, but I just want to give him one shot.

Hmm - sounds like you have all the bases covered. Is Lima injured, or tired? If you could post a quick shot of his card and your Pitching screen maybe we could diagnose something...but from everything you've said, you should see him start the next game.

I have run into this on occasion. Try putting him in the "next starter" spot on the line up sheet, go to the schedule, look at the game, if he is not there, go back to the line up sheet and put him in again..be sure to click "done", then go back to schedule and check again. Maybe you did this, but, doing it twice has always worked for me.

I haven't run into this either, but you might try checking the box next to his slot. That's supposed to keep his position from being changed.

By the auto-sort, though.

Not sure if this is the solultion, but something sorta like this happens to me.

If you mess with your rotation at all from the pitching screen, the game will not update the "next starter" box (either the selected guy or the new order).

To fix this, I just go to the lineup or defense screen and then back.

Ok I just HAVE to tell this short story...

In 2000 I was attending a Expos/Astros game in Montreal...myself and the other 6 people attending the game (highest single game attendance figure for the franchise in years) were all hiding our faces in case someone saw us watching the players take infield and bp as someone on Sportscentre would clearly laugh at us. So there we are and Jose Lima comes out on the turf. Now in case some have you have forgotten (although is seems Houston hasn't :P) Lima was having yet another fine season which ended at 7-16, a respectable record naturally. He was out at shortstop taking infield goofing around when someone yelled: "Hey lima you make a better shortstop than you do a pitcher" and Lima looked over at us...said something in spanish and laughed so hard he stopped paying attention to the practice and took a line drive in the foot...and i laughed so freakin hard i spilled my warm flat ballpark beer. But the best part was, we were all laughing and Lima was laughing too...he actually hobbled over to us and signed some autographs...:D

I just remember Lima time and his Casa Ole commercials when he was actually a contributer down here in Texas. Haha, he always did have a sense of humor.
