I'm doing a little "alternate universe" thing for myself, starting at 2007. I want to make it so that there's a 3-man rotation and the starters pitch a lot of innings, but closers are still used in save situations. Is this possible, and if so, could I get a little direction as to how to do it? I know how to adjust rotation size, but that's about it.

On the upper tool bar go to TEAM and choose STRATEGIES. Under PITCHER USE there are three sliders. Move HIGH PITCH COUNTS and PITCH THROUGH TROUBLE all the way to the right.

also put start starters on short rest all the way to the right and use a 4 man rotation instead of a 5 (3 man rotation is a selectable option in 2007 i dont believe)

Would those apply leaguewide, though? I'm trying to make this universe like a mix of today and the old days.

The strategies only apply to the current team selected. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anyway to get these changes applied leaguewide in 2007.

So, then to get to my backup objective of having starters pitch a ton of innings in a three man rotation, how would I do that by editing, say, the game's base settings in the input directory or somesuch?
I believe the game has it so that pitchers in games started in the early 20th century pitch a lot of innings, is that solely because of the rotation number?

& because of reality too.Early 20th century teams can be set for 3 man rotations whereas in 07 the "best" you can do is 4 man & 3 in the playoffs.

I mean the rotation number in the input directory. Like:
1900:
Ground Out,100
Fly Out,100
Line Out,100
Single,114
Double,89
Triple,184
Home Run,16
Walk,64
Strikeout,41
Hit Batter,84
Rotation,387
Talent,750
And 2005.
Ground Out,100
Fly Out,100
Line Out,100
Single,100
Double,100
Triple,100
Home Run,100
Walk,100
Strikeout,100
Hit Batter,100
Rotation,466
Talent,956

We're not exactly sure if those numbers even work right (or at all)anymore. You'd probably need an answer directly from Clay.
