There are lots of new leagues around but if you want to join a league with a 15 season history come and join baseball mogulers. we are into our sixteenth season and are looking for some new gm's following the departure of some long standing gm's.
we are a 20 games a day, est, hourly, everyday sim league. this means the regular season takes about 9 days to sim, the playoffs one day and the offseason 3 days. this is all a good speed to enable you to manage your team.
we have a very active posting board perhaps as a result of a lot of the gm's having been there a long time. this league is the most fun one i have been in. most of the original players may have retired leaving us only with the pujols of this world but the game stays the same and playing with computer simulated players is just as much fun and makes a change from playing always with the real life players.
anyway, if you want something different come and have a look. we haven't normally offered concessions (e.g. free drops) to new players but we might this time if you ask nicely. we have never had computer trading so none of the teams have been ruined in that respect.
The 6 teams available are:
Chicago White Sox (record last 3 seasons: 91-71, 72-90, 69-93) their revenue was 425, payroll 371 and have cash of 88. In our 15 years, the White Sox have been to the playoffs only twice (including last season) and have never won a playoff series. Their longstanding GM left us mid-way through last season.
Montreal Expos (record last 3 seasons: 90-72, 90-72, 95-67)
their revenue was 457, payroll 497 and have cash of 1. In our 15 years, the Expos have been to the playoffs on a few occasions even winning the world series in our second season. Their GM from the start of the game changed teams a couple of seasons ago for a new challenge.
Kansas City Royals (record last 3 seasons: 75-87, 73-89, 81-81)
their revenue was 372, payroll 272 and have cash of 0. They have been to the playoffs twice also, winning two series on the way to the world series several seasons ago. They have been GM-less for a season and a half.
Anaheim Angels (record last 3 seasons: 86-76, 66-96, 63-99)
their revenue was 475, payroll 339 and have cash of 59. One playoff appearance and no playoff series wins in the history of our league. their gm transferred to houston about two seasons ago and they have been gm-less since.
Philadephia Phillies (record last 3 seasons:64-98, 43-119, 59-103)
they had revenue of 354, payroll of 242 and cash of -1. philly have only been to the playoffs once and have never won a playoff series. they have had a tough time with a couple of gm's trying their luck. they have been gm less for about half a season.
Milwaukee Brewers (record last 3 seasons:85-77,100-62,105-57)
they had revenue of 365, a payroll of 254 and cash of 158. they have been to the playoffs twice winning the world series both times! their run was ended this year when they failed to make the playoffs. their gm since the beginning decided to 'retire' after last season.
