Hi There,

So far the expierience is wonderful, except that I got a raped Orioles team because of my lateness entering into the season. I have some questions. Because im new and because ... (see question 1)

1. Is there a FAQ section or a guide book available for the BMO?

2. Will players age? In other words once this season is over will everyone get one year older?

3. If they age will new young guys be added every season?

4. Can there be an added stat on the player profile, one for "Work Ethic" if there is a young C player who works hard i want him, or does the scouting handle that?

5. Managers?

6. If at the end of the season i am golden on profit say with upper 200's what does that do for me compared with the big guys in my league that have a ridiculous payroll and will end up 200 or so in the Red?

7. My scouts are the best paid in the league what rewards will i have? More accurate reports than the cheapies? Or will i get a great draft if new players are added?

8. Paying the medical staff better does that get my players back in the game faster?

9. How well does AAA develop its players?

10. Is winning the championship the main goal? or do the teams get rated based on profits, and final standings?

Comments.....

I spent the first few hours of my time with the game sitting down and looking over all of my players to figure out who sucked and who i wanted to keep and so on. One thing i think might be useful because i went through several peices of paper organizing the whole thing, is some sort of GM screen, where oyu can sort through all of your players with out affecting the game, say move players to a tradeable section, or to a Franchise player section. Pitchers would have some type of options like AAA training, and so on, what i mean is some sort of organizatino screen. Also, can there be a trading block like the offline version? Say you have a ton of players you want to dump, how can you tell everyone about them unless you offer trades to everyone in the league it would get annoying to go through a huge number of trade offers.

It would be nice to see some enhancements on the scouting, GM's do have alot of control over scouting and i think it would be cool to be able to send some scouts to mexico or cuba or Japan to find talent, have them report back to the GM on what they find and so on. In general the scouting seems to be a bit on the weak side.

It would be nice to see some replies to my questions/comments :) If its too much to reply too on here contact me at Thor@intelgamer.com.

Regaurdless, I'd like to get the chance to Interview someone at Sports Mogul for a piece I'm working on concerning the Online game and BM2002. Just Email me when you hve the chance. Thanks For your time.

1.) There is in-game help for Baseball Mogul Online, but I'm not sure if it has been completed yet. It's the last option on the sidebar.

2.) Yes, every player ages between seasons.

3.) Rookies are added to your team between seasons. Thier quality depends on how much you spent on Farm System the previous year,

4.) Since I'm not a programmer for this game, I can't take this one :)

5.) What about them?

6.) If your team is in debt at the end of the season, you are unable to renegotiate contracts with your players that will become free agents, unless they are going to play for minimum salary. Also, at the beginning of the season (an all season long, for that matter), you will not be able to sign additional free agents to your team. Finally, a team in debt can not make a trade that will increase the team's payroll.

7.) If you have the best scouting in the league, you will have the most accurate scouting reports in the league. Keep in mind, like the Farm System and Medicall Staff, the game takes into account the average money you put into it for the year previous, starting from the current date in the game.

8.) Either that, or make the chance of injury less likely. Or both. I'm not entirely certain.

9.) Players develop faster in AAA than in the majors.

10.) Your team is rated on a point system based on the factors you mentioned (and maybe a few more, the help page on that part is missing at the moment). The goal for a single year is to win the championship. That gets you the most points. But since the object of this game is not to just succeed in the current year, but to build a dynasty, having the most points over the length of the game is the multi-year goal. You may win five World Championships, but have two years of 60 win seasons before the championships (rebuilding seasons). For those two years, you team was not good, but you had a purpose, and it lead to five championships. OVerall you did an excellent job. This game is about the long term, not the short term (some people don't seem to realize that yet in some of the beta leagues). Anybody can build a team that can win a World Series in a given year. The challenge is to have a competetive team for 20 years (or longer).

Hope this was of help.
