This is a Bug
Pretty sure, anyway.

The season just ended in Real Wold Baseball. I was bidding on a catcher. The bid was 5, with 6 needed to sign him. I didn't get him and that was ok.

Well after FA, we go right into the regular season. The guy is now asking 2 points!! Naturally I love a discount and scooped him right up.

My question is this. According to the documenation, the prices are supposed to go UP after free agency, not down. In any case it doesn't make sense to have a bid of 5 for a player and then ask 2 points in the regular season.

Question
Do you consider this to be a bug? Or is this something just being brought to your attention?

Thanks! I must say, the online game can be VERY involving!!

Yeah, that sounds weird. Usually the free agent demands go up, and can even double, when the free agent bidding ends on March 31 and the season begins on April 1.

Has anyone else seen this in any leagues? Did it seem that all players could be signed a lot cheaper, or just one or a few?

I can't answer that.

I was only following a few players. I have a friend who loves to dive in and scavenge players. He says some go up and some go down.

Some are REAL bargains though.

I'll have to make a point of being the #1 scavenger until this is fixed!!

Ok...
I'll point this out to James to see if maybe the free agency code was tweaked or anything...

because as is the case in all sports( at least most of the time)players demands will drop as the season approaches...they will want to sign with somebody come april 1

If a player recieved an offer of 5 points on March 31 he should not say NO and then say "I want 2 points" on April 1.

Also, and this is more important, the games documentation says that salaries go UP on April 1. It is important that the game perform as documented.

Also, there is no incentive to continue bidding in the late rounds if the price will drop dramatically on the April 1.

Like I say, until this issue is addressed, I will hang out like a vulture for the low hanging fruit on April 1.
