I for one have no problem with a budget limit. I do take offense at the fact that in the last three days changes have been made to the game and I for one have not received any emails announcing these changes and how they work. If we are going to a pay for play model soon I feel that better communication should be implemented very quickly. I'm not going to pay for a product that is constantly changing and than not knowing how they affect game and how to play the game.
Thanks a concerned beta tester.:( :(

I wish they would make changes during a league's off-season and not during it. This has screwed one of my teams badly. If the change had been made then, I wouldn't have made some of the free agent signings.
No doubt it would be impossible to make changes for individual leagues but when it goes 'pay per play' I can't see me being very happy if a change is made that seriously effects a team I'm 'managing.'
Ho hum...............

This is a BETA test folks and as such there will be changes. Some most will like and a few many will not. Fact of the matter is that in a beta test change is the norm. I have played in several betas and this has been the case in all.
I for one appreciate the fact that Clay and the gang are trying to solve balance issues. The two things I have noticed so far is that big market teams unless managed poorly will generally beat the small market teams. The salery cap while good intentioned has a few flaws which I am sure will be fleshed out. I run St Louis and Philly in fastsim 25 and 23 respectfully. St Louis for the most part is an easy team to manage as you have lots of points to play with. Even with the new salery cap I am 44 points below my cap in payroll and I still came in first place. Philly on the other hand just made its first profit in the present playing year and has a payroll of 193 on a cap of 152. Philly can not compete with Atlanta and new york in the east. Suggestions will get a better response from Clay and the Gang (sounds like a band) than bitter complaining. Please bear with them as I am sure most issues will be taken care of in good time, they always do address them.
As for not being informed of the changes before hand again this is a beta test. Maybe, just maybe they are looking for a true response from the playing group on how they feel about the changes. They have enough going on trying to take this game live.
As for how I feel on the cap; it needs some work but in the long run I think it will balance the game more. As for it happening mid season, the game is based off of one set of code. Any changes that take place happen when the code is installed so if you are in an off season thats great, if not, I'm sure it can't be helped. At least that is my assumption on it.
Thanks for letting me ramble and here's to not getting flamed TOO much,
Raz

"This is a BETA test folks and as such there will be changes. Some most will like and a few many will not. Fact of the matter is that in a beta test change is the norm. I have played in several betas and this has been the case in all."
I do a lot of beta testing as well and there is always notification of changes prior to them being implemented. I haven't made a complaint about the actual change. Some thought needs to be given as to WHEN it is implemented in the respective league.
"Suggestions will get a better response from Clay and the Gang (sounds like a band) than bitter complaining."
Lets dissect the message I put up:
"I wish they would make changes during a league's off-season and not during it."
I do believe this is a suggestion. I don't read this as "bitter complaining."
"This has screwed one of my teams badly. If the change had been made then, I wouldn't have made some of the free agent signings."
A statement explaining what bringing the cap into a season that is running has done and what I would have done had the change been implemented in the off-season. Again, I don't see how this can be read as "bitter complaining." It's giving a reason to my suggestion.
"No doubt it would be impossible to make changes for individual leagues....."
Here I'm showing that, although I suggested the making of changes during an individual league's off-season would be preferable, it may well be very difficult to implement if you have hundreds of leagues running.
"....but when it goes 'pay per play' I can't see me being very happy if a change is made that seriously effects a team I'm 'managing.'"
Here I'm just stating a fact. If a change was made that affects a team as much this has done, during a season, and I was paying to play, I would not be very happy. That goes for any on-line game where you pay to play.
I do not see where the "bitter complaining" has come from.
As far as I'm concerned this subject is now closed.
