Thought I'd share what I've finished so far. Hi-res portraits of recent players are used wherever possible. Images are centered, and line up with other images, as best I can.

The pictures are up somewhere, as players that have switched teams have new photos like Luke Scott (http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=432928)...

Are you planning on doing any photo packs for 2k9, Jeff?I've grabbed hi-res pix of those who haven't been active in the past 5 years before they're taken down. Other than that I'm just going to continue updating & improving this year.

Not to my knowledge. I've looked and not had any success. I've tried blowing up the ones used on the MLB.com website and those just turn out very poor quality.

Can larger (new) mugshots be found anywhere?JAMD (http://www.jamd.com) has some; these shots of Aaron Cook were taken a month ago. JAMD doesn't allow direct downloads but there's a way around that with Firefox and the right plugin. I just started using them to fill in images for older players, some of their stuff goes back 20 years.

There ya go. You should be using Firefox anyway if you want images from there, with IE you have to take a screenshot of the whole page or highlight the image and copy into Word.

The way I'm doing it is taking a screenshot of the picture and then editing it in Photoshop so that cuts out having to save things to my desktop before editing.

Yeah that's what I was going to plan to do, but Jeff mentioned some plugin?

This is what I was referring to. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3404) Install it then rightclick on a blank area of any page you want to save images from. I have it set for images that are at least 200×300.

Wow, didn't realize I let this thread go dormant for so long. My massive historical database project pretty much took over my free time but that's been put on hold and I've gone back to updating my picture libraries. Currently mining the Net for useful images.
