I play NYN in Beta 79 and just noticed I have 2 players with 0 pt contracts. The 2002 season just started and the 2 players (Wilson and Hellesto) are both listed as having contracts of "0 pts thru 2003".

It's normal not to pay pro ball players? Any explaination for that?
I also have a few 0 point contracts for Colorado in Beta 48.

At the beginning of the leagues inception some players have 0 point contracts after that I do not believe they come out as 0 point players. Regardless of if you play them or not their next contract they will want atleast 1 point.

I should clarify. These are players who had at least 1 point contracts last season. Now they have 0 point contracts.

Marv Hallasto always started off with a 0 point contract but when renewal time comes about he will want atleast 1 point. No FA to my knowledge has ever asked for 0 points come renewal time.

I assumed that 0 points just meant that the player was making less than $200,000 (the value of a point). I don't remember what the major league minimum is this year, but it's right around $200,000 (it might be $170,000 or something in that neighborhood).
