The revenue structure for small market teams is pathetic. You can win and win and win and have low ticket prices and Normal Broadcast and the revenue still doesn't go up. This is neither realistic nor entertaining.

Example-

League: 2002 & Beyond
Team: Anaheim Dynasty
Current year: 2017

Average Record: 107-55

Won the AL West from 2003-2016. Won 7 AL championships and 6 World Series including the last two years. Have kept Broadcast at Normal. Have kept tickets at no higher than Normal and as low as -30%.

In August of 2017, I lead the AL West by 30 games. My record is 86-41. My ticket prices are currently -20% (as they were the last two years) and I still can't sell out. I'm averaging only 37,388 per game and I'm #12 in league revenue. #12 is exactly 3 spaces from being a .500 team.

Why am I not selling out (or even getting 40,000) at -20%?

Don't bring up star power because my team is filled with all-stars.

I have little experience managing small-market team, but recently I took over the Royals in 2002 and Beyond league. In two years I transformed a 131 loss team (really) into a division winner. However, I have yet to see any difference in attendance and revenue. Is this normal?

Same league, same problem.

How are other teams in the league doing revenue-wise?

Do they have a lot of cash socked away?

If there is a lot of cash in the bank across the league, then attendance can suffer somewhat...

As with many non-equalized leagues, there is a bit of cash hoarding going on, especially with Toronto. Hmm, Toronto is YOUR team, James.

I blame James!!!! :p

I think the problem seems to affect only "small-market" teams which improve their records. The "big" teams get instant increases in revenue when they win.

Example:

Baltimore's revenue was 574 in 2013 and 585 in 2014 while he won 86 games and finished 3rd in the AL East. Prior to that, BAL had only had one 100+ win season and only 2 playoff appearences in 10 years. Then he wins 3 consecutive ALDS and his revenue goes to 656 in 2015, 687 in 2016, and 718 in 2017. In 2018, Baltimore is averaging 40,620 in attendence even though his Ticket Prices are +10%.

Anaheim, on the other hand, has won the last 3 WS (and won before that) and is drawing 41,136 with Ticket prices at -30%.

Anaheim is on pace to make 315 points from ticket sales, while BAL is on pace to make 466 points.

Since when is Anaheim a small market team?

I've noticed this too and it is much harder to raise attendence and profits with a small market team. It doesn't seem to vibe with reality.
