Sorry, I still don't know how to post two pics in one post, so I will reply to myself and use two posts.

Using 10.24, PBP Manager mode every game.

Noticed several of my pitchers (4 actually) have been credited with one more appearance than games they actually appeared in. I even took out a piece of paper and went to calendar and viewed every box score (good thing I was only in beginning of May) and confirmed that they are being given an "extra" appearance. In the example below, Pina only appeared in 7 games. The Box scores and Game Log confirm this, yet his Pitching tab shows 8 games.

I do recall a few games where I went into the change pitcher dialogue, hit the replace pitcher button, and then hit the undo button because I changed my mind about bringing the guy in (while on the mound, the starter talked me into letting him get out of this own trouble :)) Could it be that the Games Appeared In data is being appended when you hit the Replace Pitcher button in PBP mode rather than the Done button ??????

Sorry, know it seems a small thing, but you know us baseball fanatics, we're, ah, well we're nuts :D.

If you're viewing the scouting report DURING a pbp game, then THAT game youre playing shows up in his year-by-year totals, but not his game log.

It wasn't during a game.

That's it. I started a new game and played three games just to test. In each game I went to the replace pitcher screen, selected Mike Thompson, hit the "Replace Pitcher" button, then hit the "Undo" button to leave my starter in. In the final game, just for fun, I did it 4 times, and sure enough, even though my team has only played 3 games, Mike Thompson has appeared in six!!!! In reality, he didn't appear in any though.

I deleted my old thread on this subject and renamed it because I think this title is a little more clear. Playing PBP manager mode, if you go into the change pitcher screen, choose your new pitcher, hit the "Replace Pitcher" button, then change your mind and hit the "Undo" button, the relief pitcher is incorrectly crediting with a game appeared in. To illustrate, I played a game a just kept hitting the "Replace Pitcher" and "Undo" button a lot of times (250 times actually) just to see. Then, after the game, went into my roster and pulled his screen up, and sure enough, he appeared in 250 games. Good ol rubberarm Gogolewski :).

Don't know if I should start another thread for this, but I discovered it isn't just relief pitchers. As you can see from Bernie Allen's over 200 games in 1971 :D, the same bug exists on the defensive substitution screen in PBP mode too. If you highlight the guy in your lineup, the guy on the bench you want to replace him with, hit the "Swap" button, then change your mind and hit the "Undo" button, the guy on the bench is credited with being in the game. To illustrate, I hit the button about 200 times to show this. Now, here is the weird thing. When I did the one above I TESTED FOR THIS ALSO, and it didn't happen. I tested a second game and IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Both of those games I was the visiting team. When I got my first home game in the schedule, this bug appeared?????? Don't understand that one at all. Maybe the easiest way to fix this bug is to do away with the undo button. After all, in RL, once a player is announced in a game, you can't undo it!!!!!

If someone thinks I should make this a different thread since it's not just reliever's let me know and I'll do that.

The "undo" button is a relative recent addition to the game. It was asked for by many "quick clickers" so it was implemented. Personally, I don't use it very often so I really havn't noticed the bug you mentioned. I check soon and see if I encounter the same problem.

I noticed this a few days ago. On June 17th, I replaced a the starting pitcher with Medders (screen shot here) but then decided to use a different pitcher. I forgot to hit Undo and just replaced Medders with a different reliever. The game allows this but records Medders as having been in the game (I can't use him later) but he did not throw a pitch. Either Medders was in the game - in which case he must throw to at least one hitter under MLB rules - or he wasn't in the game.

This should be simple to fix - though it is also not very important.

Ah yea, I had forgotten about this problem... It's really not that simple to fix, since I'll have to rewrite a portion of the function that handles all of this, but it's certainly fixable. That whole function should be more robust anyway, in my opinion.

Thanks for the reminder.

When you insert a player into the game, it increases his Games stat by 1. If you click undo, the increase isn't undone, and he gets credit for the game even though he has yet to take the field.

I noticed this by subbing in a pitcher, noticing it then said "14 games", I accidentally undid it, and it still said 14games, subbed him back in, 15 games. To test it, I undid it again, and reinserted him and he was 16 games.

So THAT's how Jesse Orosco "pitched" in so many games.
