I'm not talking about the team. ;)
I know, Coach, I know (sigh)...unfortunately, that's an oft-heard cry from the young people in Our Town.
They have a point, I think... due to the fact that a lotta stuff has to be ferried or flown into this Vancouver Island, and Vic being a tourist-trap and all, only kids with rich parents can afford the daily round; the common task here - the young man/woman trying to make it on their own, are at a distinct disadvantage, the rents, alone, are crippling.
And with the luxury condos that the local developers are building, with expectation of an influx of rich, retiring Baby Boomers,(boy!, will I love it when these greedy speculators take a bath!) it ain't gonna get any better...this city is gradually turning into a place in which only the very wealthy can live.
Even comfortably-off folk, like myself, are feeling the pinch of oil-fuelled inflation, plus retailing aimed at the affluent...when I'm finally rendered homeless, I'll pick up my Steinway, and go busk upon your streets of Seattle, Coach - that'll larn ya!
