40 man roster

Can someone tell me how to expand my roster to forty players on Sept 1. I have stopped my sim on the day before sept 1 and ond sept 1 and on both days i was unable to bring players up to the majors. how do i add players to the big league roster on sept 1?

It will bring the up the first 9 players in your minor leagues and the first 6 pitchers, but it won't show that it did.

You can see who they are if you play a game in play-by-play mode. Even is correct though, there's no actual "selection" process. It's the first 9 players listed (regardless of level) and the first 6 pitchers (again, regardless of level) who become available.
Also, as long as you actually leave them in the minors, any playing time that they receive won't count towards their Major League Service Time.
