First of all, pitchers who only pitcher 10 innings or so with 0.0 ERA don't count!:p I mean for a full season, this guy had a 0.17 ERA as my closer.

Whats even more amazing is he did it at age 37. I consider this the apex of my team's bullpen dependability.

Why didn't you stretch this guy out? He has enough stammy to make it and he coulda been a total stud ace.

I got him at the tail end of his career, plus my rotation is stacked already. Needed a reliable closer, et al.

is there a way to make a relief pitcher a starting pitcher or vice versa?
or do you have to go into commish mode?

How do you do this? Do you just stick him in a starter role and he stretches out over time? Or could this also work by putting him in a long relief role for a while?

If you put them in starter role, their endurance will over time increase; eventually they may be designated as SP rather than RP.

if you put a reliever in the SP role on March 1,
his endurance will increase during spring training.
ive wondered what would happen if i converted 5 young relievers
and sent em back to the minors for development.
maybe i could actually draft all relievers ?
so many things to try ;)

ps
since your guy is on the yankees,
his first name is pronounced HOW-ston.
Having a downtown thoroughfare bear his name
gave him such glee that he broke the happiness meter,
thus explaining his microscopic era.
way cool !

Just put 'em in the rotation and checkbox them. There's a temporary extra risk of injury and some loss of Power rating but if your rotation isn't very strong it can be a great move. It can take as much as 2 seasons to get there but eventually they gain up to 70 stamina at the price of between 5 and 10 points in Power.
Not really recommended for a reliever with less than 20 stamina, but any more than 20 usually stretches out OK. And if you want to minimize the risk of injury, make sure the guy has a high Health rating.

Tried that before, but there's so many standards a reliever has to meet to be an effective starter that there's till something to be said for staying with the starters.

I wonder what the lowest ERA they've gotten for a starter. :P

I've had a couple guys with freak years below 2, but unfortunately didn't save a screenie in either case.

It's always easier way to convert SP to RP than vice versa.
Releif pitches easily get injuries when they have to throw more.
But Some times it's good try to give a chance for some old veteran sp who doesn't have
role more to be an RP. They know how to handle pressure than young prospects. To me
having young and fruity Bull -pen was always disaster. Even though they have got over 87 and good ball type, they have been screwed up.. But with some veteran pitchers s they did little bit better
