Renew Contracts

Ok, I am at season's end & time to renew contracts & I did so, for the 1st player & wanted to then Access Trading Block, to get some more cash, but when I clicked on the X in Upper Right of the next, good player I have to renew, it Defaulted to Releasing said player ! Ss how can I access the Trade, or Free Agent windows, before I am done with Renewing Contracts ? Or is this just another inherent issue that can't be done, like opening more than 1 Window at the same time, etc.

Let me make sure I'm getting this straight; you went to the whole "renew contracts" bit, and then tried to access the trading block?
Well, I'd assume you just have to re-sign or relase all your players before you can access the trading block again. So yeah, nothing you can do.

I lost a few good players that way myself. I get around that little problem by not clicking on "renew contracts" after the Superbowl and instead negotiate with players through my roster. This way you can jump back and forth between free agents and keeping/releasing your players. After your done, -then-, wave the universal digit at the renew contracts option and click on renew contracts, which you've already taken of, and move on into next season.
