In Windows (not in the game) you have .txt or .HTML files (depending on the setting that you're using in League -> Options) incorrectly associated. To fix that go to control panel, open the Folder Options item, click the File Types tab, and then find the file extension for text files or HTML files. If you click on the file extension listing then you'll see a "Opens with:" item listed and a button which allows you to change the program which opens those files.

It's also possible that the files were never written in the first place. You can verify if the files are being written by opening the Baseball Mogul folder (select "Open Game Folder..." from the Help Menu). Then double-click the 'Output' folder and then either the 'Box Scores' or 'Recaps' folder.

If those folders are empty, then the files aren't being written. This is probably because the folder has been set to 'Read-Only'. In Windows XP, you can fix this by right-clicking the folder and unchecking the 'Read-Only' box.

However, in Windows Vista, there is a serious bug that prevents you from unchecking the 'Read-Only' box. (Actually, it lets you uncheck the box, but then it re-checks it for you after you leave the Properties Dialog).

I just spent several hours trying to fix this bug, or find a way for Baseball Mogul to work around it. And I give up. A Google search reveals that many other developers have run into the same bug, and they can't figure out how to fix it either.

I did however find a solution that does fix the problem on our Vista test machines. You can read more about it here:
