Oakland Invaders
186 (or close to that) point payroll
Only 12 points cash, but after being in the hole almost 60 points, not bad.
86-76
knocked off Cleveland (116-46) in ALDS
increased record each year for the last four years
2002 - 67-95 (dumped payroll to make money)
2003 - 74-88 (yuoungsters learn how to play together)
2004 - 81-81 (finally turned the corner)
2005 - 86-76 (1st in the West by 2 games, and knocked off said Cleve)
This year, I have started out 10-2 in first 12 games. Not bad, and I feel good because I have kept my team in the black for the most part. Plus, I did it all legit. Feels good.

those all look like not only good examples of winning but also of winning the right way.
In the first 5 years of fast sim 18, my Anahiem club has:
-5 straight winning season (best record 102-60)
-5 straight trips to post season
-2 world series appearences (won one and lost the other)
-5 seasons of turning a profit
But the stat I'm most proud of is the mogal points. I'm in first with 10,250 points in 5 seasons (second place is Detroit with 6200). It seems to me that mogal points is the one stat that no one seems to pay any atention to. Just a guess here, but I am sure that each of the people who posted here before me is doing very well in mogal points also.
I think some changes to the way mogal points are rewarded and used may make the temptation to play unrealisticly less of a temptation when the game goes pay. For example in FS18 the Atlanta club had a payroll in the early years of over 900 points. Each year he lost points and went into debt. He kept winning 120 games though with this powerful lineup. So where was his incentive to NOT have this outragous payroll? Maybe if points were deducted from his mogal points for being in debt and having those mogal points mean something in game play, (like say the ability to join certain new leagues reserved for only high mogal point GM's) he would not have done what he did.
Anyway, just a thought (and a long winded one at that). What does everyone else think about it and how about other ideas on how to use this part of the game.

in fastsim 12,
my cleveland team has won 7 consecutive division and 1 WS with a payroll around 300-350
plus i also have 1500+ cash on hand.
Yet i only have 4500 mogul points, even the second place team like minnesota have more mogul points than my team.

I'm not sure how mogul points are awarded. If this has already been covered somewhere, perhapse someone can direct me to that location. I do know however that they reward a small market team much more then a large one. I feel this is the way it should be. It is harder to win with Min then it is with Clev.
What I was suggesting in my other post was to penalize someone that really messes up a club by using mogul points.
Here are the mogul points for the series winners in FS18:
yr club rev profit mogul pts
01 NYA 685 -138 1500
02 ANH 398 +27 3750
03 SF 492 -11 2250
04 ATL 757 -246 1500
05 ATL 755 -187 1500
06 NYA 878 -40 1500
When this goes pay and I am setting up a new league (assuming that we will be able to do that in the pay game), I would much rather have someone that runs a club the way rufryder does then the way the ATL GM in FS18 did in my league. I suggest a stiff penalty for anyone that runs a club into debt (note I said runs them there, not takes over one that already is in debt, something would have to be worked out for someone willing to fix someone elses mess).
just my thoughts

I've read a couple of places that the Mogul points favor the small market teams. I have only been playing a few days, but think that that is the wrong way to do it. The mogul points should relect profit, increased revenue and winning. Those are the three things that are judged in the real world. A bonus should go to teams that advence into the playoffs.
If you win a bunch of games, but lose a bunch of money, your mogul points should reflect that. By the same token, if you are profitable, but your revenue decreases, that should be reflected badly. Why is revenue important? Just ask any vendor who is working at the ball games. Decreased revenue means decreased standing in the business community.
Each of those three things balance each other out. A large market team will have more revenue to start with, but raw revenue should not be important. The change in revenue should be. That makes it even for all markets.
Profit, of course, is also not sensitive to market size.
