Jack Wilson from 5.9 to 2.95
Craig Wilson from 2.3 (after extension) to 1.15

Jason Bay from 4.562 to 2.281
Jeromy Burnitz from 2.28 to 3.45 (restore his salary)

Also, my Wilsons got mixed up.
Jack Wilson should have been cut from 5.9 to 2.95
Craig Wilson got Jack's cut but should have been 1.15 instead of 2.95

According to the rules exspenses are supposed to be capped at $1,000,000 each. But we have teams already breaking the rule. The following teams are in violation of the rule already: Yankees, Mets, Cubs, Clevelans, Philidelphia, Tampa Bay Seattle. Why can't everyone play by the rules? Everyone should read the rules and abide by them, not break them. Lets everyone play, win or lose, by the rules.

I don't like having NO cuts on f/a as some times that is the only way to get out of killer contracts. I do like the 10 mill max for cuts however as well.

The idea of this is to stop teams from bidding like 40-50 million for 7 years then cutting the salary after a year to a small amount. The 10 million basicly will make a 50 mill contract still 40 mill a year.

I voted for "others". I think Cuts should only be able to be used by teams falling below a set revenue amout. Giving salary cuts to big money teams gives them an unfair advantage. Just my opinion.

The 10 mil max cuts looks pretty good to me. I have seen teams bid up to 60 million for players before and then cut them after a season which is just ridiculous.

based on our OVERWHELMING response we will go with the 10 million MAX per cut on contracts over 30 million per year.

TheNamelessPoet
02-06-2008, 01:02 PM
No FA contract over and including 30 million per year may be cut more than 10 Million. Also the Team that signs him MUST keep him for 1 full year. After he is traded he may be cut (after 2 years of contract is played out) but may not go back to the original team for 1 FULL year.

For example
NYY sign Arod to 40 million for 6 years.
1.)They MUST keep him for a minimum of 1 full year
2.)They can NOT cut him.
3.)They can trade him to another team but he can not be traded back for 1 FULL season.
3a.)He may not be cut once he goes back to original team.
4.)He may be cut by his new team but must stay on the new team for 1 full year and may not be cut again.
5.) Any cut on a 30 Million+ per year will only be for 10 million. He also may only have the contract cut twice durrin that current contract.

Length of contract.
All FA contracts over and including $30 million Years MUST be for minimum of 3 years unless the player is over 33.

I do not have time to help with manual draft and I will not stop the league for it. Whomever posts the draft will have to put the results with teh team they are currently on and the team the player needs to go to, otherwise this wil lnot work. Sorry to be a jerk about it but I have not enough time to do other duties and work along with a manual draft

Some leagues this works great. However I prefer not to since The manual draft promotes tanking, is more work on making list, posting list and slows down the post season drastically.

Besides, I like the chance that the #12 pick can be better than #1.

I like this daily double setup.

I like having the first rnd manual and the rest auto myself, seems to work out pretty good in the other leagues I am in.

I prefer the manual draft. If you have someone who knows what they are doing its not that big of a deal. And making your list is not that time consuming. And as far as tanking, that arguement is overblown. I volunteer to run a manual draft. I'm more than willing to put a little effort into helping the league. I do it in a couple of other leagues so I have a pretty good system. It won't slow down the off-season either. Let me know.

I think the main detriment to a manual draft is that it slows the league down. But if Zodiac wants to run it, I say let him. He knows what he's doing and a well-run draft adds to the enjoyment of the league.

The Cubs should have morgaged the future just a little bit. The offense we have is just pathetic. A few sims ago the Cubs had an 11.5 game in the Central. Pittsburgh was just going through the motions. Cubs felt that the team with their pitching could make a nice little run. Well, everything is changed now. Pitt is now up .5 games in the Central. Nice job.

I'd be fine with it then. 30 is my limit but with some of the pauses in other leagues for manual drafts it seems like a 20, so if zodiac can do it, let's go for it. Feel free to change my vote to Yes from no.

well... normally u dont post your pick... BUT I'M FIRST!!!

Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing, I actually troed to put a team together that might win 70+ games lol. Don't get me wrong... I didnt expect muc hmore but not THIS bad

ANYWAY on to important things...
Jamie Morles SP 82+ is The #1 OVERALL pick in the draft.
There are guys with better Peak ratings but this guy may prove that peak means nothing when u have TALENT
86 Power
96 control!!!
83 Movement
91 Endurance
Along with 75 Health.

It he was on a team that contends every year of his career he could win 350 games!!! I predict 200K's with a 8-1 K/BB ratio in his peak!!!

What does it mean to have a manual draft? How does it work? How do you get involved to pick players? I have never done a manual draft before. Thanks.

TheNamelessPoet
02-12-2008, 10:18 PM
basicly if u look in "find players" you can look for specific thing in a player. search by "AMATUR DRAFT"

Ince you find a list of players you want put them in order of what you want. if u pick 19th u want a list of 19 people because if u have a list of say 10 guys they might all get picked befure your 19th pick. This list you then give to the GM doing the draft. Only the 1st round is manual. ALL players are up for grabs that are in the Amatur draft.
