11.04 Play by Play slowdown

When I change modes from Manager to Player mode in-game, the PBP still slows down (when I pitch, it slows down for about 3-5 seconds) and also vice versa.

I think it's not that fixed.

Additional info: the slowdown is for every pitch and also for the batting as well (after I switch back to Manager mode, the slowdown is still there).

Just as the title says, when playing Pitch by Pitch (One pitch mode), the game takes quite some time between batters. Loading time between innings seems ok, it's just the game play.

I play in Manager, single pitch mode, so unfortunately yes. Playing '08, a typical game would take me about 10-15 mins tops, they are currently taking about 20-25, obviously depending on offense and whatever.

I need to edit and state that this is the ONLY issue I am having. I love '09 so far, the ball pathing in PbP is infinitely better, I actually had the AI intentionally walk a batter of mine, and I really like having the screen pop up with distance to throw and distance to run when making a decision to send a runner. It's great.

Fly balls and pop-ups take a looooooooooonnnnnnng time to land when I play in pbp one-pitch mode. Everything else seems to move along at a good pace.

It might be the computer that you're using. I've got '09 loaded on my laptop and my work computer - on my laptop, it takes me 30 minutes to play a game in one-pitch mode ('07 and '08 games usually took about 15 minutes), but on my work computer it takes about 10-15 minutes to get through a game.

It could be a comp performance issue for some, but I am still seeing a slowdown compared to last year. Its not really a bug though.

Are the requirements for '09 any greater than they were for '08? If not, then my computer should run it pretty much the same then I would think. Granted my computer is ancient in computer terms, but by just looking at the minimum requirements for '09, my computer should run this just fine, and it isn't.

If your computer runs Windows XP (and especially if it runs Windows Vista), then you really don't have anything to worry about.

There more than likely is something going on with PBP mode. It wouldn't be the first time.
The thing is, we (and especially Clay and Ian) need much more information in order to pursue the cause of these sorts of problems. Specific changes, no matter hoe inane, should be stated. In other words, something like:
"I started Mogul, selected 'Modern', and chose to play the Angels. Then, I clicked on the figure in the top left of the box for April 1st, and when prompted I chose to play the game in PBP mode." etc...
In other words, detail every little nuance of what you're doing and how the game is reacting. Problems like this are not obvious when looking at code, and do not affect everyone in the same manner. Therefore, it's not possible for you to provide too much information.
On the other hand, you could just sit back and hope that Clay or Ian finds the problem on their own. I don't think anyone really needs to hear how likely that is to take place though.

Fair enough Ohms....let me go back then. For starters, I am on XP, so I will assume it is something with the game. I started a season in 1993, so obviously I clicked Classic. chose the Red Sox in 1993. When I play in PbP the game seems to drag. The only reason I noticed it is because the crawl bar at the bottom seems to "hiccup" from time to time. That is, it stops for a split second then starts up again. That is the best way I can explain it.

how much free hard drive space do you currently have? That and, how much system memory do you have?

I have 512 RAM and I have a few gigs of open HD space at the moment. As I said before though, unless the requirements for 09 are any different than they were for 08, I can't see how my computer would have any problem playing it. Then again, I am not the most computer savvy person in the world, so who knows?
