Just a quick note...saw that a player of mine retired during the reg season but it didnt give a reason, and i couldnt find him doing a search through retired players. Anyone else see this? Not even sure its a bug so i thought i would get some feedback

Was he getting playing time? How old was he? If an older player is left on the bench or in the minors, they will usually retire.

That was in last years game as well. Can't remember if it happened years before that. I had a few guys retire...it just happens. They give up

The popup to notify you that a player has retired hasn't worked since the 9.45 patch for BM07, IIRC. We need to get that working again, and the game should stop at that point to give you a chance to adjust your lineups if necessary.

Hum, I've seen the popup in the early 10s I think.
Strange that you can't call up his past record even though he's retired though. Do you have it set to only save the HoFers?

Nope, and I am playing modern day, year 2008. Or was at the time at least. I cant find him in the game now anywhere. I tried a screenshot but forgot I had it on my desktop and deleted it.

If a player retired and he was a career minor league player he wouldn't be in the transaction screen. That was my experience.

yep. It only saves players with major league experience, although there is a setting in the Options to make it only save HOF (caliber, really. it saves more than just HOFers), players.
