View Full Version : 11.07 Multiple runs scored when runner tags up

As you can see from the screen shot, Holliday is credited for advancing and scoring twice (but only one run is credited to score) and Ankiel is not given credit for taking second (even though he did advance to second). The Recap went nuts adding runs to the Cards, so I included it as well

This is a non-critical bug, but I noticed if you're in PbP (managing, of course) and you have 2 runners tag up on the same fly ball, one of whom scores, the PbP text has a bug where for both runners it would say "scoring a run". For example: Eddie Murray at the plate, Brady Anderson on 3rd, and Craig Biggio on first. Murray hits a long fly to left, both runners tag up and advance, but the text would say:
"Eddie Murray flied out to left field.
Brady Anderson tagged up and reached home, scoring a run.
Craig Biggio tagged up and reached second, scoring a run."
The score and stats are all correct, it's just a minor glitch with the text. Again, sorry for the lack of a screenshot, I'll get one with my next bug report.

When one runner tags up and scores from third the run is counted twice. I copied and pasted an example of how it appears on play by play
1 0-1 Fastball (89) David Dellucci flied out to left. 5 2
David Dellucci tagged up and reached home, scoring a run. 6 2
David Dellucci tagged up and reached second, scoring a run.

I disagree, from what I seen two or sometimes three runs are counted when it should be only one which can easily affect the outcome of a game.

Agreed with MJB. Here's a partial log from one of my games.
Entering this inning Chicago leads 5-0. Notes in red.
BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH
Al Montreuil struck out. <--->
Ken Holtzman singled to left. <--1>
Don Kessinger singled to right field. <-21>
Adolfo Phillips walked. <321>
So far so good. Bases loaded, one out.
Billy Williams flied out to right. <321>
And Williams flies out. Watch where the runners are very carefully.
Billy Williams tagged up and reached home, scoring a run. <-21>
Display error on Williams - minor. Here Holtzman scores. 6-0 Chicago.
Billy Williams tagged up and reached third, scoring a run. <3-1>
It appears the runner on second goes to third. Must be Kessinger. This is a little harder to swallow btw, but we'll go with it.
Billy Williams tagged up and reached second, scoring a run. <-2->
Uhm...so Phillips went from first to second on the sacrifice? And where did Kessinger go!?
Ron Santo grounded to second. <-2->
2 runs, 2 hits, 0 errors, and 1 left on base.
Apparently he scored in the confusion.(?)
At the end of the sixth, Chicago leads 7 to 0.

This is still happening in 11.07 just to let everyone know.

As you can see from the Game Recap attached to the first post, this bug doesn't affect the outcome of the game. It's just a display problem. For example, the Game Recap says they with the game 11-7, but they actually only win it 8-7. If the runs were actually scoring, the Cards would have won the game before Brendan Ryan hit a double.
It's still a serious bug, but not one that affects game outcomes.
I may have fixed it in 11.08, but I'm not sure.

This is not just a display problem. As you can see here, things go a little Groundhog Day in the top of the 9th, with the same guy scoring 3 times on one fly ball. My RP got tagged with two earned runs against him in the 9th in the box score, where it looks like he should have only gotten one. (see attached html recap) Yes, it is possible that the second run could have scored on the ground ball to the third baseman, but I don't think that's what happened here. And if you think that is what happened, I'm not going to waste time arguing it with you. I think this is a bug.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this will fit for this or not, but here it goes. This is on 11.25, in PBP Mode. Here is the final inning recap:
BOTTOM OF THE FOURTEENTH
Matt Kinney came in to pitch for the Twins. <--->
Walter Young struck out. <--->
David Segui singled up the middle. <--1>
Larry Bigbie bunts for a base hit to first. <-21>
Howie Clark laid down a sacrifice bunt to the pitcher. <32->
Melvin Mora pinch hit for Geronimo Gil. <32->
Matt Kinney threw a wild pitch - a run scored. <3-->
Larry Bigbie tagged up and scored. <--->
ORIOLES WIN: 5-3
So while the batter didn't finish his AB, and extra run did come in. Feel free to move this if needed.
(On a side note, 2 straight extra inning games lost thanks to a WP. Frustrating stuff...)

Here's the correct thread. It's the tag up that is the key, as you can see from the above.

All right, thanks. It was just because it was on a wild pitch that I put it in the other one.
