I was just wondering, if you can't build a new stadium or do anything such AS that, then you can't really generate anymore revenue can you? Does your revenue amount increase in ANY way? Because I was thinking, otherwise, if you are a poor team to begin with, there's really no way to dig yourself out of your hole. I brought great things to Montreal in the CD-ROM version but one of the things that caused this was to build a new stadium

If I can't generate anymore revenue, what's the point in really owning the team?

The most important thing to do as a lowly team is to build up your farm system and then, once you have a good group of players, sign a few free agents. Then, once you start making the playoffs, your budget will go up significantly. You should also try using Pay TV and/or lowering your ticket prices

Pay TV will get you more revenue, but it will hurt your Fan Loyalty and Attendance. The best way to get more attendance and revenue: win (and use normal broadcast)!

I have found success increasing revenue, by doing a few things..

1. As a small market team, I set ticket prices to -20% and never have touched it, even with the team winning.

2. I kept 'Normal Broadcast' as to not alienate any fans.

3. I slowly built through the farm system (took 3 years to get a winning record).

Im in my fifth season in the league, and my team's (Anaheim) revenue and attendance has jumped ALOT. When I began, attendance was around a 26000 average. Its now around 37000 during the regular season in a 45000 fan capacity stadium. Im happy with my current situation and dont care if it goes any higher really, though it would be nice. :) Im sure there are many methods to success, but so far this has worked for me. I too, however, would LOVE to have a 'build new stadium' feature. It would be great to get rid of hideous Edison Field and its Disney look. :)

I own the Tigers in the cd-rom version. Whoever said it before was right, the easiest way to generate revenue is to win. My Tigers in my first couple seasons, only about 25,000-30,000 fans came to my games. Once I started being one of the best teams in baseball record-wise and winning division tittles, I started selling out at 42,000. This was with ticket prices at +20%. I always try and keep my ticket prices at a level where I keep selling out games, because the more people are at your games the more money you get from concessions.

I am GM'ing Tampa and came out of the gate winning - in 4 years Tampa has won 3 consecutive AL East titles and advanced to the ALCS each year (only to be knocked out each time). I have kept my ticket prices between -40 to -20 percent and have always used Normal broadcast - yet attendance has remained stagnant (around 25,000 - 28,000 per game - with a 45,000 seat stadium)

how long must this team win to gain some attendance figures (or will it just never happen?)
