Last week, we posted a new version of Baseball Mogul Online.

In addition to some changes to the financial engine, I added code that did the following:

1) Set the team to "Computer Manager" (lineups, rotation etc.) if you went more than 90 simulated days without logging in.

2) Set the team to "Computer GM" (all team decisions) if you went more than 365 simulated days without logging in.
3) Automatically gave control back to the human player when he logged back in.

Thanks to a bug, item #3 didn't work correctly and so some people lost control of their teams.

As of now, it appears that this bug has been fixed. But if you have any further problems, please let me know. Or reply here if you have comments on the Auto-Management feature.

I like these items, but I think that #1 should take into account the simulation rate of the league in question. When simming ten game days each real day, 90 days takes over a week and therefore makes sense, but in a fastsim league that can blitz past in a day and a half, and there are certainly legitimate reasons for being away from a computer for that long. It's an excellent system, but for the fastsim leagues I think it kicks in too fast.

I think step three should be 14 real days not logged in you lose your team automatically. I got 10 GM's in one of my leagues who qualify for this. It absolutely KILLS the leagues when that many people are inactive. I used to get trade offers galore now I get one maybe a week out of my 3 teams. If they go on vacation even for 1 week they are still fine.
