Baseball Mogul is set to be released to be shipped from the publisher by the end of the month.
Please post here if you do see it in any stores. (Best Buy, Costco, Gamestop..ect..)
Or in Online stores as well :)
MOST RECENT INFORMATION:
Strategy First will be the publisher... (http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&Ntk=TitleKeyword&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntt=Baseball%20Mogul%202009)

You'll probably find it at Half Price Books for $5 (brand new) in a couple of weeks. Do you sell directly to Half Price? I wonder how they get them new so fast.

Half Price Books will probably buy them from a retail establishment (aka Best Buy, Costco) for a discount. I do not believe Sports Mogul will sell to Half Price Books.
Anyway retail verison is said to be launched at the end of the month.

"End of April" is probably too optimistic. I know that Enlight plans to release the game in retail stores some time in May, and that the MSRP will be $29.99.

Gamestop has the game released online pre-order on May 5th.
The Enlight Website has no mention of Baseball Mogul 2k9, maybe you should contact them Clay?

I have been looking forward to buying this game via retail for the last two months. I used a gift card and was told it would be out April 29. On April 29 I saw something posted saying it would be shipped to stores on May 5 and today I saw something saying it was being shipped on May 13. To say this is more then annoying would be an understatement. I was using a gift card otherwise I could have just downloaded it from the website.
What bothers me the most is that the date keeps getting changed. Is this game actually going to come out or should I just buy another baseball sim game.

I see a release date of May 8th shown here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832146019
Our publisher has the final version of the game, so it should be available soon. Unfortunately, the only thing I know is that it was slated for early May. After that, it's in the hands of the distributors and retailers.
By the way, you may see the name "Strategy First" and/or "Enlight" listed as the publisher. They are working together so they are essentially both publishing the game.

Why not salve your impatience by playing with the demo for a while? ...and if that gets irksome, why not try demos of the other baseball games out there? All that sampling may help you make a good final choice when all the games are available.

I am sure they are still in business. We just deposited a check from them.
:)
This year you will probably see the publisher listed as "Strategy First", although I wouldn't put much weight on what the retailers do -- I once saw Baseball Mogul listed on Amazon as being published by EA.

The website for gamestop.com now says June 24. That is two months later then the inital date. It has been pushed back at least eight times. At this point I think I may just go download Out of the Park Baseball. I know I can just download this game but this whole situation has been a tremendous turn-off.

You're turned off from a game that you can download, independent of the retailers, because the retailers push back the release date...so instead, you'll go and get another game...by download?

Yeah, I have to admit, I'm a bit puzzled by that stream of logic, as well.

Actually it is not puzzling logic-if there was a clear date as to when the game would be released retail and it was June then I would have simply downloaded the game. However, because the retail version was going to come out at a similar time I opted for that option. My frustration is that I pre-ordered the game and the ship date has been pushed back 8 times. That is simply not acceptable. If the game is not going to be ready then they should just be honest and give an estimated shipping date and not monkey around with it.

It isn't Sports Mogul fault, they gave the game to the publisher on time.

And one that is almost twice as expensive, too.

That's the key here. Sports Mogul is not a distributor. Clay relies on Enlight and it's network of distributors to get the product onto store shelves, and then the retailers actually have to purchase it for retail sale.
At least Clay actually does distribute his product to retail, which is more than certain other companies do...

I have a feeling that the CD version of the game will never see the light of day. If it ever does, maybe in September. They way Gamestop keeps pushing back the ship dates and if you go on BestBuy and similar sites, they do not even list it. As far as Enlight not updating their site, well, only one can speculate, but that is not encouraging in terms of professionalism.
I guess I will have to give in and download it. I am oldschool in terms of games, I like to have the CD version. If I do download it, will I be able to save it to CD first? I'd hate to pay for it and then my computer takes a major dump and I lose it.

I'd hate to pay for it and then my computer takes a major dump and I lose it.You do have permission to back it up to CD. And there is no electronic licensing to prevent this. Moreover, if your computer ever does "take a major dump", you can just send us an e-mail and we'll re-send your download link (if you lose your order number, we can look it up using your name and/or e-mail address).

Clay,
Thanks for the quick reply. You are the man!
With our economy in the current state it is in, we need more companies like yours. Smaller businesses that back up their customers and make us feel like we do matter in the end. Keep up the great work and thanks for the encouragement on the download. I'll be ordering it real soon!

Strategy First's website shows a download link, but no boxed version available.
Are they still the distributor with the Early September due date,or is someone else handling the boxed set? I can wait a while longer, but if it's not happening I'd like to know and I'll go the download route(I know it's been available, but I prefer a commercial disk even at a premium)

Looks like Strategy First really scr!#@d the pooch this year.
Gamestop.com lists the ship date as 09/30/2008. Basically the last weekend of the regular season.
This is so unfortunate for Clay and everyone at Sports Mogul who try to expand the fan base of this great franchise.
Hang in there guys!

Even so, Clay and the guys got royally screwed over in my opinion. Contract someone to put out a game and they never did during the season it was meant for.
They could have increased their fanbase for the game.

With Strategy First pulling out, we've taken advantage of our right to manufacture the disks ourselves. These are in production and should be for sale on our site in September. We are also now working with a company that is working with Atari that should be able to have it in stores for the 4th quarter of the year.
