Being a resident of the Tampa Bay area, I like running the Devil Rays (now Rays) from year one to try getting the team more competitive than the real 10 year mark. One suggestion that I would like to see incorporated into the game is for you to "draft" the team from the players at the end of the '97 season instead of taking who the "real gm" picked to start the team. I think it would give the players more a owner feel to actually be able to start fresh and not settle for what was there in year one. Thanks for listening, am very hopeful that it will be changed.

I think it's planned for this year (hence the new option to select an expansion team), but Clay's still working out the kinks.

It's got to be in the works. I tried to force it to let me run the Expansion Draft. It asked me to make my pick, but I was unable to choose any player to draft. I could only protect/unprotect them. Too bad I can't change human teams during the expansion draft =\

Yeah, in the meantime, doing the work around for an expansion team is time-consuming, but it is still fun. I think somebody had a great outline for it (Oldfatguy) months back.

Ok, glad to see I am not alone in wanting it. It will let me draft palyers, and I seem to keep them, but I lose all the free agents that were signed. I would also like to start the team in 1997, not 1998. I know they did not play till 98, but they still drafted amateur in 97. I would really like to draft those amateurs that I would want. But, I am willing to settle for just drafting IF I can keep those Free Agents.

While that would be great, considering all the bugs that have popped up. I would consider this to be far down the list of suggestions.
Drafting the expansion players is about as good as I think we should have right now.
The one thing I do see as a problem, is that the draft in Mogul is obviously not set up like an actual draft. So I don't see really the advantage of having the ability to draft a year early.
It would be nice though to get set up at the end of 97 (or at the end of any year before an expansion) and be able to sign free agents.
