View Full Version : 11.10 High pitch counts despite slider setting

I have the "high pitch counts" slider all the way to the left. On April 20 I've already had starters throw 129, 137, 120, 124, and 129 pitches.
That's too many pitches too often for the slider being all the way left. We need more control than that.

What year, and what are the endurance ratings of the pitchers involved?

It's 1962. Endurance: 72, 68, 63. The low endurance is one reason I want to restrict innings pitched. Their health ratings aren't so great either.
Regardless of the year or pitching staff involved, I see this as an issue of control. If I want to limit my starters to 100 pitches per game, I should be able to do that. Why bother to have a slider if the AI is going to override my setting to decide what's "best" or what's "historically accurate"?
I just want to run my team my way.

Also, you could change live mode settings to like the 5th inning of any game and take over from there. The tools are there to accomplish what you want. Hope this helps.
How do you do this? I've wanted to do this a lot of times in the 9th inning, especially when my starter goes 8 2/3rds innings, is up by plenty of runs, and I want him to finish the complete game, instead of bringing in a relief pitcher to pitch the final 5 or 7 pitches.

This isn't quite what I was thinking it was, but it's still useful to know.
I wish there was a way where you could choose to join a PBP game at any point in the game... such as in the 6th, 7th, or 8th innings, regardless of the team you are playing or the score. The game would be simulated until that point and you could resume it in your specified inning.
Sorry for the threadjack.
Well you may want to tweak pitch through trouble as well,
I have found this to be the most useless setting in the game. A season's worth of relievers getting pounded for 8-10 runs confirms this for me.

I think that a great suggestion is to have a pitch slider to say when the starter should be pulled with a couple of checkboxes put in.
70 75 120
+-----+-------...---+
as for check boxes,
Always pull the pitcher at this point if they made, no matter the situation.
Keep them in for the rest of the inning (unless a pitching change is needed)
igonore the check boxes....
or something to this extent.
If not coded right, I could see how this might make more problems, then cure. Thou I would love to see this. And this feature could be just for maximum pitches thrown...
