Yes it is.

They could also stop making boneheaded in-game moves. From Rotoworld:

Brad Wilkerson went 3-for-3 with a walk in his best game of the season on Tuesday.

And then was removed for a pinch-hitter batting .167. Wilkerson finally has a good game, and the Mariners still opt to pull him even though he's hit lefties as well as righties over the course of his career and the alternative was Willie Bloomquist. Wilkerson could use a few more games like this as he tries to avoid losing his spot to Wladimir Balentien. Unfortunately, he'll probably be back on the bench on Wednesday because the Indians are throwing Cliff Lee.

I agree, it is stupid that Morrow isn't starting, it is stupid that when Clement gets called up, and balentin that they will just ride the pine. I mean I understand the bone head moves if this was little league or some sort of amateur league, but this is the major leagues, millions of dollars at stake. It is petty stupid to throw out vidro out there when he can't run, he only hits for contact. His ops sucks... And what do the mariners say. They are a proven commodity. Bullcrap

And it's pretty stupid to platoon Brad Wilkerson when nothing in his statistical record indicates he needs to be platooned. They just aren't letting him hit lefties because he's a lefty, which is dumb.

Yup, Wilkerson hits Lefties as good as righties...and the worse part, the other day he went something like 3-4, or 3-3, and then they bench him...against a lefty.... thou he hits lefties as good as righties.

It would appear the M's are trying to listen to sabermetrics but are taking it the wrong way

(the reason why is because when they look at stats, it is a foreign language)

I agree, it is stupid that Morrow isn't starting,

Actually, it's not. Morrow, if put into the starting rotation right now, would struggle a lot. First off, he has only one good pitch-his fastball who's speed will drop a few MPH lower when stuck in the rotation, and secondly, he doesn't have enough stamina. Preferably, he'd be in Tacoma or West Tenn right now, developing into a top-of-the-rotation starter.

Well yes, He should have had MOrrow start in Triple A last season, instead of pitching in relief Role last season... Morrow should be in the Starting rotation, as the 5th pitcher, limit his pitching to 90 pitches in a game, then bring it up. If he pitches every 4 or 5 days, and between that they pitch simulated games between starts, he should be ready to go. His pitching ablity it great. His stamina won't be a factor.

They need to release Sexton, and Vidro, Vidro had one good game, he doesn't walk, or hit homeruns. His best role would be a pinch hitter.

Oh and they shouldn't call up Wlad, not yet. Dave Cameron, over at USS Mariner, says he would only hit about .240/.300/.400 which isn't much of an improvement.

Anything would be better than jose vidro

What's the point of putting WLAD at DH, when there are still some good free agents-Kenny Lofton, *CoughBarryBondsCough.

Put Clement at 1st base or DH (clement can catch when Johima needs a day off then Johima can DH. :) , and Wlad in Left Field, and put Ibanez at DH or 1st base.

Apparently since both Wlad and Clement came up in September last year, the M's have to wait until May 7 to call them up to avoid them reaching free agency after 2013. Which is really a stupid reason to put off moves that would have benefited the team weeks ago.

So it looks like Wlad and Clement ETA in Seattle: May 7

More like....today.

You're right...If they wait until May 7, they delay the free agency by one year. And at this point, it is completely stupid not to wait that one week, which is exactly what they did - the completely stupid move.

Hahaha. Exactly. They FINALLY do something right, but once again they find a way to F it up. Oh well. At least the team is better. (Don't get me started on why they're still carrying Miguel Cairo over Wilkerson or Norton). In light of the proliferation of contracts buying out arbitration years of young stars maybe that's what they see in Clement's future. Not so sure about Balentien though. He's a little less of a sure thing.

They should have kept Norton, but cut Cairo.

They should've kept Wilkerson over Norton. He's been iffy so far, but he's going to start hititng home runs. His walk rate is good, his strikeout rate was lower than usual. Also, they cut him after he was coming off his best game of the season...How's that for a good couple days? Go 3-3, get pulled for a pinch-hitter, then cut.
