View Full Version : 11.10 Players who switch position don't have stats recorded at new position

I was PBPing an NL game where I performed a complex double switch in which I swapped four players: Felix Pie replaced my third baseman (hitting eighth) and I moved him to center immediately. Soriano, my CF, moved to second. Hudson, my 2B, moved to short. Theriot, my SS, moved to third. Pie got credit for a game at third even though he never actually played there, but Soriano, Hudson, and Theriot got no credit for playing at their new positions, even though they played three innings each at their new positions. The box score and game recap recorded their new positions, but their stats don't mention this at all.

This isn't a bug, it's just the way you performed it. It's similar to inserting a pitcher in at first base or left field. The position player you replaced gets credit for a game at pitcher in this scenario.

I wondered about that at first too, but then there's this:

Pie got credit for a game at third even though he never actually played there, but Soriano, Hudson, and Theriot got no credit for playing at their new positions, even though they played three innings each at their new positions.

I notice this too. I'm going to have to try this again, but I seem to remember that if I switched my 2B to 3B, for example, in a double switch, he doesn't get credit for both positions (let alone putouts, assists, etc). On a side note similar to this, I notice when a player plays out of position in the playoffs (something other than their "main position"), they don't get fielding statistics either (all zeroes).

I could've sworn this was posted before, but I couldn't find the previous thread.

When you change a player's position in the middle of a play-by-play game, he doesn't get credit for a game on his fielding stats for the new position. The rest of the fielding stats for that position do accurately update - his innings, assists, putouts, etc. He just doesn't get a game added.

Well, there's this thread (http://sportsmogul.com/vbulletin2/showthread.php?t=176426), but I don't know that it's the same problem as my guys didn't get any stats for their new positions.

Did those players have any previous time at the position earlier in the season? If it was their first time playing that position, the lack of adding a game would make it so that you didn't see the other stats, as well. I'm merging threads.

Now that you mention it, I believe it was indeed their first times at those positions. Or at least, they never made any starts there. I'm going to fire up the game in commish mode and see if they have any put outs, assists, etc.

EDIT: Yup, they each have a put out/assist or two.

I had to make some defensive moves in the NLCS and I went to a player's fielding stats for my team and they had no stats even though they had played every gaem in the playoffs (Should have been 7 games total).

Sorry, I meant I made some defensive moves before the game. Nothing happened in the game.

Also note it refers to Roberts as female.

That's from a different bug, which has since been fixed.

Additionally, take this:

I brought in Chad Tracy, replacing RF Justin Upton. In the sub dialog, I moved Tracy to 1B, and my 1B Conor Jackson to LF. Tracy got credit for 1 game played in right field, though no innings or other stats recorded.
