I was wondering what the group memberships area in our profiles is for. Everybodys says "This person is not in any public groups" or something like that. What is this?

vBulletin has a group function where members can be added to certain groups. There are no groups defined here though, so no one is a member of any groups...

It's actually a very good feature. You can assign permissions to forums and functions that the groups can do. You can hide forums so that only certain groups of people can see them. You can restrict things inside each forum as well, for example you can give one group the permission to read and another the permission to post.

I've alway thought it rather presumptuous of BM to assert this...I. myself, have contradicted this, in my profile, by mentioning my membership in the Victorian Chapter of the Psychopath's Circle...
