Contract Status Differences

I am in Fastsim 23 (Arizona) . We are in Feb 2007 (pre season) and I noticed several players contract expiration are now indicating that they expire in 2006, but when you click on the player, it says he is signed through 2007. My example is Bagwell. Contract page 2006 and summary is 2007. I am sure everyone was signed through 2007 at the end of the year in 2006.

I'm having similar problems. It is now after teh 2001 post season. The Cleveland Indians have won the WS, and we are entering the FA draft.

But many of my players who were signed thru 2002 and beyond are now showing that they want contract extensions, and that their contract ends in 2001?

What is up with this? It looks like year got screwed up, and the contract end should read 2002, (or one more year than it actually does.

I cannot remember is these players were signed only thru 2002, or if it was longer.

Please look at this.

the players are still signed through that year but you can sometimes sign them for a longer period at a cheaper price. If you want to release them now you can and you won't have to buy out there contract. It usually is cheaper to sign the player before their contract expires that year...the demand will be less. Of course sometimes if the player gets hurt in his contract year you can get him cheaper(sometimes). Hope i helped you guys.:cool:

The contract expiration year changes by one year less in the post season. I had everyone signed through the next season and now with post season, the contract was up for renegotiation. This allowed me to release a player a year earlier with no cash penalty. Now thats great if you have a stiff you want to get rid of, but I don't think that what was intended in the program.
