League Longevity and history of leagues.

Over the years, I have seen many leagues claim they are the longest running league in Mogul, 2nd longest running league. 4th longest running leagues. I want to put together a list of all active leagues, with the lowest membership it has had. And the lowest point it has had in the last 4 years....

Some of the longer running leagues are:
in no order....
1. agml
2. ernie harwell
3. IL30
4. Dabruins
5. Cascade
6. Best **** mogul league
7. Best of the best
8. winter league
9..maybe more :)

ect...

I know some other leagues that have been around is AGML2 (which is now agml revised)...

Also I want to put together a list of how long a league has run without a reset (or since there last reset) This type of thing really shows how healthy a league is.

For example, when I took over AGML it had 13 owners...mostly because the commissioner Doug1972, did know a thing about running a league. Before Doug1972 and after, the league was thriving with 24 owners or more...with Doug it fell off before we forced a change.

IL30 has had 3 resets that I know of, and the last one comming in I believe in 04 or 05?

Also would love to see what the history of commissionership is, and what legacy the commissioner has left behind.

Best **** mogul league is one of the newer leagues but has showed the test of time with mutiple commissioners, as with the Cascade, AGML, and IL30.

Best **** Mogul League claims to be the 4th best, I am not sure what that means, I really need to get information on how long since there last reset for every league.

For example:
I believe it would go,
1. AGML

3. IL30
4. Best **** Mogul league.

Thou I am not sure...

I really need help from the commissioners and owners of each league. For example, Harwell claims to be the longest running league. Which is false, by a year.

I rejoined mogul in may of 05 to join botb. it took maybe a month so I would say botb started in june of 05.

BOTB has never reset. About to start our 117th season. We have had 30 GMs every season except one (had 29 that season). I have commished all but 8 seasons I believe. During my hiatus, shutface ran the show. I can get more specifics when I get a chance.

never BEEN lower than 28 Bobby I have been ALWAYS very active on that front - also a full league tends to stay full,IMO,we are at 28 now ONLY because the commish has decided to allow GMs a chance to change franchises.

Monday I will try & fill the 2 holes (one of the few advantages of WL is that small franchises are competitive thru Revenue sharing & cycle cut advantages - a 20-30 Revenue franchise gets 3 cycle cuts whereas a top 10 gets zero).

So in the 40 odd years of existance every team has been to the Playoffs several times & "small" teams like Pittsburgh/Milwaukee or Florida have had WS wins.

Also we have a group of dedicated owners (~20) who have been here since 2025 & about ~10 for 30 years or more

I joined AGML2 in August 2006 and we reset things in September 2006 to AGML2 Revised. So for my purposes I am just going to give the history of AGML2 Revised-

Year and month started : Sept 2006

Number of years the league has simmed without a reset : 31

Number of resets : Reset to begin AGML2 Revised in Sept 2006. GM Contracts and Earnings are reset every 30 years so that occured in 2036 but never a reset of rosters. (The GM Contracts idea is something unique to AGML2)

Number of times the league has dropped below 20 users : Never

Lowest owner count. : 26, but never less than 28 for a full season

Has the league ever paused and if so, how often? : Nope

IMHO there are 10 or so A level leagues & then the standard drops big time - a league is judged (& rightly so) on its COMMISH & participation.

Some like BOTB are "aggressive" leagues with a heavy forum base,others like AGML are "slower" & more entertainment BUT all GOOD leagues are based on GMs & Commish interaction WHICH MAKES BMO far more fun than BM ;)

Year and month started : Feb 2007

Number of years the league has simmed without a reset : 12

Number of resets : 1

Number of times the league has dropped below 20 users : Never (post reset)

Lowest owner count. : Since the reset, I believe we got as low as 25-26, but have remained full for the majority of the past 44 seasons.

Has the league ever paused and if so, how often? : Yes and they are merely isolated incidents as to finish up the draft.
