gen1400 Gaming is ready to release a Baseball Board game in the making for years. DICE Baseball is the newest and the most statistically accurate baseball board game out there.

Over a dozen different formulas were specifically designed to run a player through so he will perform in the game like he does on the field. Hitting, pitching, fielding, and more.

DICE Baseball won't hit the market until November of 2008. The game will include the just finished 2008 season player cards. No board game anywhere will have the 2008 player cards available as quick as we will.

Judge for yourself what you think of DICE Baseball. For a limited time we are offering a free trial pack that you can download. You will get all of the rules and charts needed to play the game as well as 8 selected teams from the 1984 season. Hurry and take advantage of this free trial pack. I am trying to keep my costs down as much as possible so I can sell the game for as cheap as possible.

There won't be any sales tax. I am paying that. For the people that live in the US and purchase the game in November or December of 08 I will be charging only $3.00 shipping. So your total cost delivered to you is 53 bucks.

After 2008, whatever it costs me to ship to you, I will charge. I won't inflate shipping costs one penny. What it costs me it will cost you.

I would love to pay for both the tax and shipping but my manufacturing company is charging me a little more than 3 dollars per game to ship to me. I just can't take on the costs of paying the shipping coming to me and coming from me without raising the price of the game.

With the game you will be getting every player in the majors from the 2008 season who had at least 18 ABs or 18IPs.

Maybe he realized charging $50 for a board game wasn't a profitable business model

I busted out my Strat-O-Matic game and played a few. I got sick of my GF handing me my ass in it :)

Did anyone ever play the card game MLB Showdown? I played it for three years until they basically changed the game completely. Back in the day my friends and I went to the local retailer and they had an official league for us with prizes and promos.

I spent so much money and time on that game. My friends and I still get together on occasion (rarely now) and bust out our decks. It was such a fun game.

And was surprisingly very accurate considering sports card games would be/are hard to develop.

You should take a look at the price tag a lot of strategic board games have on them, man. $50 is NOTHING, and those games sell.

I know that Clay seriously considered a card game version of Baseball Mogul several years ago. If you know the theories behind games like All Star Baseball or Strat, it's not that hard to develop a game (The book Curveball is one good place to start)... it's marketing and distribution that is always the real barrier. Licensing, as well.
