Playing by myself

Now that the bug that didn't let us see red numbers has been fixed, I realize that I'm practically playing by myself. No wonder I don't get any trade offers any more. In one of my leagues, there are only 4 teams that have been accessed in the last 24 hours, and about half the teams have been ignored for more than a week. Several teams, even, have been left to rot for more than a month. This is no fun. Something has to be done about absentee owners. I want to play this game against other people, otherwise whats the point of the online version? Maybe after 3 or 4 days, the computer could dump the owner and someone new could take on the team.

I think three or four days is a bit short, but certainly if an owner haven't logged in in thirty days then I can see kicking him or her out, unless special arrangements have been made in advance by TPTB.

maybe we can somehow set up a league of people who have proven to log in each day.

I have some leagues that people have not been in for 40 days........Now I log in 5 times or so a day, I do not expect anyone even to come close to that. But is it time to set up a beta league that has members that have logged in a few times a week to show that they are doing something? The added feature of seeing when people have logged in is great..........but also disturbing to see the lack of people playing.

I think that the number of days you need to log in for should be different for the different league speeds. For a Fast Sim league there is no excuse (unless arrangements are made) for not logging in for longer than a week, if someone can't keep up with that schedule than they should not have joined that league. For other slower leagues the drop date can be about a month.

While I for one would love to have the players logging on every day or so to actually play their teams and it is disturbing how many people have 20+ days since their last logon, if you added hard and fast rules it could be a problem for some. I have been on every day since I began my teams. What of those people who go on a vacation or a business trip? I for one will not be around for a week starting in a week while I am on vacation. Should I be penalized?

It would be great if there was a way to have the computer AI kick in immediately for those of us who know we will be away for a length of time. I don't think we should be penalized just because we do have commitments. I do wonder what will become of my teams all of which are in fastsims and will go through 2-3 years before I return.
