No jokes here.
With relatively little competition in this field, I think SportsMogul should give it a go.
After of course the AI is fixed up in Baseball, i think this should be a goal. :)
Personally, I would love to see a b-ball game.
Thoughts guys?

I would like a mogul for all the majors sports. Which means adding Basketball and Hockey.

They should definetly create a hockey series
Which could work better than Baseball, since the AI wouldn't be able to be owned financially since there would be a cap

It would be great if the game relied on picking plays and substitutions, not like in fastbreak where you just sim through.

It would be great but they should fix the finances for baseball and fix the whole football game and then update BMO. Basketball is too far down the list for right now. You should make your current products perfect before you create a new product.

I have seen a few basketball games out there, but I think it would be pretty easy to do. You wouldn't have as many players to deal with and the actual mechanics of the games and statistics would be pretty easy to determine.

I would by Basketball Mogul- College Basketball Mogul, that is, in a second.

College would be great, but I have a feeling that would be a lot of work, although you wouldn't really have to worry about players at all, just making sure that the teams overall talent level was comparable to what it is in real life. You might run in to some problems with using the actual college names though.

You could do what EA does and have just the position and number for the name. You would know most of the player and after the freshmen are out, you would have a bunch of generic players. For example Jake Locker would be QB #10 in the purple and gold.

Why? College & University names aren't copyrighted

Just use random names in the player database. Then each incoming freshman is assigned random names as well.
problem with basketball mogul, if you want a realistic financial model, would be the programming of an annually changing salary cap based on league bri, not to mention adding a realistic luxury tax which spreads the collected money to the untaxed teams
then comes the simulation settings with realistic stats...closest game ive seen to a viable basketball sim is ddspb, but it has a flawed financial model and is quite buggy and is a pain to edit any player ratings
and college basketball would be an even larger undertaking if you were to try and incorporate even just a decent recruiting system
from this thread: http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=140674&page=2
Not to mention, as already stated in this thread, the fact that football mogul isn't a good game (sorry), along with the continuous fine-tuning of sportsmogul's moneymaker & eventual upgrades (I'm assuming) to BMO, there likely isn't enough time in the day for Clay & co. to expand like this unless they hire more programmers, and ones with knowledge of the sport they would be working on as well.

You don't remember when Penn State sued that high school for using their logos? I'm no legal expert so I might be way off on thinking that would be a problem. I just thought that it could be a potential road block.

I said nothing about using logos, simply team names aren't off limits
Though, like dds:cb, mods of team logos/courts/uniforms could be made available via a 3rd party

I would love to see Hockey Mogul and would buy it in a flash. Basketball Mogul would also be great, as I find Strat is becoming too expensive year in, year out, to purchase.

The idea of a Hockey Mogul (with rosters for teams dating back to...let's go with the 40's or so) intrigues and scares me...I would never leave the **** house!!!

Me too, but I'd still rather have BMO survive first.:(
