View Full Version : 11.17 Number of seasons incorrect for position players that also pitched

The number that says how many seasons a player played at the top of the scouting report...its wrong for every position player that pitched at all. You'll see guys like Tris Speaker and Ted Williams show "1 season", because they pitched in one season for at least one out. All pitchers have their experience correct. All position players that never threw a pitch in a game are correct. This is limited only to position players who happened to pitch a little (or like Babe Ruth, a lot).

Compare the number above to the yearly lines below:

I posted this before. It happens to position players that have had an appearance pitching. I'm going to merge this with that thread.

In Patch 10.31B(AKA Sneak Preview of BBM09), Steve Finley is listed as being in his 2nd season in any game played in 2007, yet the game clearly shows his statistics from every season of his career. I'll get a screenshot up tomorrow...

Clay said something about how it incorporated some of 2009's new features, so I made up a name for it. Turns out it has a name already: 10.31B. I'll fix my original post...

It's probably important to note that 10.31B isn't really a sneak preview of 2k9. All Clay said was that they've been doing work to prepare the code for better compatability with Vista.

What rosters are you using?

This used to be a constant problem, but was fixed for 2008. Apparently, there is at least one roster set out there that seems to mess this up. For those two reasons, it's absolutely vital that you verify which rosters you are using. Please.
Thank you.

Sorry...
I'm using the game's included rosters...

Strange...
10.33, default rosters, Steve Finley:
11427
however, Soriano is correct:
11428
And so is everyone else that I'm looking at. This appears to be some sort of roster bug, rather than a game bug. Just need to figure out where (and why).

Starting in 2007 for me, I'm not seeing this. Finley had 19 seasons..

In BBM09, when I go to look at some of the retired players, some of their total seasons is wrong. For example on Ted Williams, it says 1 career season played but shows he played from 1939-1960. Another one is Todd Zeile, it says 2 seasons played but he played from 1989-2004.

This happens to players that pitched. It uses the number of seasons that they pitched in, rather than their overall number of seasons.
