As said in the other thread, ootp is now available, not sure how long the special pricing will go on.
As for the game, I downloaded it last night and have to say this is the most complete Baseball Sim on the market. OOTP is faster, and have complete customizing, complete roster rules. As for the simulation itself, it has more stats, more splits, and seems pretty good.
The financial system is pretty good thou still behind BM's basical financial model. I would like BM to put more effort into this.....
OOTP 9 is worth the $40 or 40euro...it is the most complete game I have ever played. It has come along ways since ootpbm2007, and even OOTP8.
OOTP9- is technincally the 3rd installment of the game, but ootp developments has release 9 total versions... going back to OOTP, and season ticket baseball.
in OOTP Baseball Manager 2007, the re-wrote everything and that was the first installment, Version 6.5 was based off of old code. (thou some say that 6.5 is the best version to date)

I kind of agree with this statement. I downloaded the demo and tried it, but it took me forever to start. And once I did, there was so much going on that I couldn't follow it all. And this was only a single A affiliate! I wish I had more time to invest in getting used to it. Because as boomboom said, the detail and rules/regulations is fantastic.

I have been playing OOTP exclusively since late June. I haven't had a need to pick up mogul since.

I have not done much OOTP for a while. And why have you dropped Mogul?

It feels like you are actually managing a team...not just playing a game...

I just downloaded OOTP. Looked like it installed okay, but the game wouldn't start. Tried to start from the shortcut and from the application itself. Nothing.
After downloading, my computer was also constantly accessing the harddrive, working away at something. That's not normal. So I quickly uninstalled that pig program. Who needs the grief?
That's why I'm so cautious about putting any new program on my computer -- especially games. Too often they're so buggy they mess up the entire computer.

Hmmm...that's very strange. I've only had that happen once with a game, but it worked fine when I completely cleared it off the system (every related folder, the reg entries, everything) and re-installed. Every now and then you'll just get a bad install for whatever reason. One of the most common causes is your anti-virus software, which is why a lot of game companies now suggest temporarily switching that off during an installation, then turning it back on afterwards.

Downloaded it.
Thought it was interesting.
Actually having the ability to create leagues such as (Honkbal Hoofdklasse), and also having a Mexican League and Japanese League going as well as the MLB.
But after completing a year with the Venzuela Winter League. I found the game to actually be a bit too much to follow.
I like the idea of actually having all those leagues going, but who has the time to actually follow them. I thought the idea of starting a player in one of the Winter Leagues and having him move onto to a International league and finally the Majors would of been great.
But the amount of time that would have to be spent to just complete a few years would be too much.
Seems like a good game, but not for me.
My daughter and wife would probably kill me if I would of bought it.
BM is more along what i'm looking for at this moment.
(As others have said, the interface is rather bulky)

If you're using Vista, you need to right click on the desktop icon and click "Run as Administrator". But hey, if you don't want it shoot me a PM and I'll take it :D.
