View Full Version : Saved Game Crashing

I just started using Baseball Mogul 2008. It's great. However, after completing several seasons and saving my game, when trying to resume i got the following error message:

The file "Crash1031-BB2K8-296.dmp was produced when Baseball Mogul encountered an error. Would you like to send it to Sports Mogul to help diagnose the problem?


No personal information will be collected. You can also send the file later.

Also, if you (and then the message ends.)

I cannot resume this game. So, I started a new one, played through a season and a half, all the while saving and resuming, then got the same message and can no longer access that game. Any ideas?

I can't really tell what's wrong only from what you posted above. What version are you using? If you haven't done so yet, you should update to 10.31.

The message that you're receiving is from having the .dmp file in the Baseball Mogul directory. Sometimes the reporting system doesn't delete it for some reason. Open the Baseball Mogul folder, select the file, and delete it, and that should clear up the problem of receiving the message.

As for the crash itself, if you can recreate it then post the debug.txt file (found in the main Baseball Mogul folder) here. There might be something that provides a clue in that. More importantly though, please detail exactly what you did just prior to the crash.

I was actually doing nothing before the crash. I has simply saved the game (not the first time, as I'd saved after every 3-4 games played). When I opened Mogul again and attempted to resume, that's when I got the error. Initial indication was "Baseball Mogul 2008 has encountered a problem and needs to close" It's the typical Microsoft error message asking if you want to send an error report or not.

Once I respond to that, either reporting or not, Baseball Mogul closes. Then when I re-open the program I get the aforementioned error message. I can get past that and start a new game, but if I attempt to resume a saved game, I get the "encountered a problem message again", then, the same routine.

I have deleted the crash message via selection in the window. And I am running 10.3.1.0. I have attempted updates, but those attempts show I have all current updates.

...Are you sure that the computer itself isn't having problems? 10.31 is a stable version, I don't remember seeing any report similar problems.

You could try running some Windows diagnostics. Disk defrag, etc...

hmmm, could be an issue with windows? i've had network issues recently as well. they seem to be all fixed, but i.t. fella suggested could have been caused by windows failure. i'll try that. thanks a million.
