Anyway to not get caught stealing so much?

Even the best base stealers have horrible averages. Juan Pierre gets caught like 50% of the time. 75 stolen bases are useless if you get caught that much. I basically have to lead off with a slow guy who only steals 6 bases a year because he only gets caught once. Is this just how the game works. Do the sliders actually work to steal less, I cannot really tell?

Yes, and if you have the time to micromanage, you can actually use those sliders to beat a superior team. If they never slidestep and rarely use a pitchout, while running out a catcher with a weak arm, run wild.

That sort of thing's really useful in the playoffs where you can count on playing only one specific team for a couple or more sims straight.
