Any way to change the name in the databases to a fictional name?
(This would be in leagues that are currently running, just got a trade offer for him and it just doesn't seem right out of respect)

I forwarded your post to James Grove to see what he thinks...but I'm not sure if we can make a change like that

This has bothered my from the day after his untimely passing,if at all possible I think this should be given serious consideration it just seems wrong to see his name in later years, like Professor said it must be a respect thing.Just my two cents:)

It certainly seems reasonable...
We haven't updated the player database in a while, but I think we could do that.
But it would only impact new leagues, not existing leagues. When a new league is created, it starts off by copying the master league file. From then on, it is its own little independent universe.

leave him in. If you are going to update the player database than maybe you might want to allow us too ad our own from BBM2k3 so the names and teams can be updated.

I don't think it would be right to erase the guy from baseball, he was a valid player at the start of the season.

I say leave him in, however I do agree with changing his name.
Get him out of the game...better yet program it to erase Kile on the date of his death!
Poor guy...his family is probably devasted but people die everyday so its not so unusual. The Spanish and Irish celebrate over death while we mourn which makes it even worse.
...Ok enough rambling

The guy existed. If a bench player passes away, will everyone be asking for him to be erased? Let his memory live on and let his fictional image finish his career with dignity.
I'm sure if it were me, I'd want you to leave my name in, and I'm sure many of you would too.
Don't just erase the poor guy! He died once already. You see, to me it's a respectful thing to leave him in.
