Hey, I'm just wondering so I stop joining a bunch of leagues that never last a year, what does keep a good league going.
Please only respond if you've been in a league that has run for a decent amount of time

Basically a good core of active GM's with a (group) of dedicated Admins/Commishes that are very educated in the game of mogul as well as baseball. Number of Admins/Commishes vary from league to league, but it's much more likely that a team of Admins/Commishes (say 2 or 3) would be easier to run things smoothly, but too many Admins/Commishes do lead to problems.I would say, that's probably the most important "feature", but all that other stuff helps too.

yep those are big parts right there. It's also trying to come up with new ideas to make the league fun and exciting and making you want to come on the boards multiple times a day.

meldiver - you are on the waiting list of a good league - be patient or offer to co-gm with someone.
but you need good GM's, you need something to make everyone believe that they can compete and it needs to be fun.

From my past experiences in leagues, I would say a good core of active gms, and more than 1 admin. Also some ideas, that are used in the real MLB, like winterball, and rule 5 drafts, create a well groomed and experienced core of gms wanting to join the league. As I feel more brand new GMs want to just join a basic mogul league with basic rules just to get used to the game, and then join some of the more time-consuming and complicated leagues.

I would the #1 best idea for a league to survive is GMs over the age of 20 the more the better...I am not trying to get anyone pissy, but the younger GMs make quick trades then leave..they dont stick around, older GMs take a team for life.
#2 is Admins that can take when ppl are mad and complain, don't take things personal..
#3 Solid Core of GMs is a must(#1A Actually)
#4 willing to try new ideas....Rule V Drafts never work...
#5 Lots and lots of help for the Commish
#6 Commish/Admins that take it serious, no one likes joining a league to have the Commish decide to go start another league because he likes building the boards....
#7 more serious GMs, stop leaving or playing more then one league at a time...

I ran TMM for a good solid 5 months and here is what I think is a MUST.
1) Good solid core of gm's who dont make foolish trades.
2) Admin's who are dedicated and are only in one other league if that, people who are admin at 2-3 leagues have the tendency to fall apart.
3) Members who are willing to stay active and come up with new ideas.
