Anyone here play the sims2 games? I have sims2, along with the EPs Bon Voyage and Nightlife.

I must admit, I just don't 'get' the sims. What is the attraction of it, for anyone who plays?

I don't know, I've had fun with it... actually, I think I'll reinstall it now. It's just kind of neat, building a "life" with your character. You can create story lines and whatnot as well.
But, your right, you have to be the type of person to enjoy this sort of thing in order to... well, enjoy it.

Yeah, I mean, I found ti kind of neat in the beginning. However, I grew to just despise the little idiot...GO TO THE BATHROOM ON YOUR OWN, GENIUS! You wanna go on the floor? Live with the result! :D

I used to play, but I was bad. My people always died or got divorced. But it did not help that I would have them get in the pool and take out the ladder, so they can't get out. Or lock them in rooms by removing the doors. Or by putting the oven in the bathroom. Once I had the kids taken away, and the parents became gay, which turned out very weird. Especially since I was trying to create my family and it WAS MY UNCLE AND MY DAD LOL.

I have Sims 2 and all the available expansion packs, although I don't play it much. Much of my time in the game is spent building homes but I do get into the sim aspect at times. I recently paired up farmer Leod McGregor (in the Seasons EP) with a lady who habitually wears a pink bunny suit. :D

:D That is friggin' hilarious! :D

Yeah, I tried to be a 'good' guy, but eventually, I'd become annoyed with my Sim's ability to do anything on their own, and start doing the kind of stuff you were to punish them.

in sims 2 they have free will and actually learn to do most of the simple things o their own, and once you teach them something they know how and when to do it, can yoiu beleive some people go so far with their sims2 mods as to make new cars and stuff for the games? or music videos?? I am a casual player at best, maybe an hr or two every couple of weeks but the game can be fun because the sims interact with each other on a more realistic scale than they did before.

Okay, THAT sounds like something I'd be more into. I've never played the 2nd game at all...I wasn't impressed with the fact you had to do EVERYTHING for your people in the first, and just never tried it. Sounds better, though!

Now, what are they going to add in the third? Have they announced anything?

I do want to get Apartments though and hope that it'll finally allow users to design dorms.

It sounds quite a bit different to me. Totally free form movement is completely new.

It definitely looks like they're going for more of a 'living city' approach. If they can pull it off, heck, I'd even be interested. Of course, it would still end up about...oh...10th on my list of games I want.

they defiantly are, which in a way might inadvertently spell dome for Sim City, now up to version 5 called sims society. As to the Sims i think they also need to continue to add hobbies to the sims repertoire hobbies like baseball football etc.

Hmm..Wikipedia says Sims 3 won't have the Comfort, Social, Hygiene, and Environment Needs. This may be worth getting after all!

Lol, those needs used to drive me crazy!

I was poking around the official site and found that building these is starts out just like building houses. Apartments can only have one exit; they can have patios/balconies but those need to be completely fenced in. No fire escapes.

Dorms need counter islands, ShinyTyme appliances, a trash compactor or garbage can, a sink or dishwasher, and a sprinkler in the kitchen; Myne doors for the bedrooms; and at least one phone.

Once your masterpiece is finished, open the cheat window (ctrl+shift+c) and enter changeLotZoning X (replace X with apartmentbase or dorm, as the case may be). You'll be notified if there is a problem with converting the zone; if so, you should to enter changeLotZoning residential to fix the problem.

I picked up the Ambitions expansion as a birthday present for myself. Fun but a bit quirky; my firefighter sometimes forgets whose house has the fire and goes to the wrong one, where he goofs off. Renovation clients sometimes get stuck somewhere, rendering them unable to return home and the project unable to complete.

First thing an a level 6 inventor or a SimBot should do is head for the military base and detonate ("smash" for SimBots) the jet statue.
