I can't wait. By the way, has anybody seen the Bird's Nest and/or the Water Cube? They look awesome.

Water Cube looks craaaazy lol. Can't wait. I wish Baseball was staying after this year. I love the Olympics, even with China's contreversal human rights acts, I am excited. When does it start? I knew but forgot. And I don't want to miss the opening ceremony

So, what events are you looking forward to?
One of my favorites will be the 110m hurdles. Dayron Robles vs homeboy Liu Xiang.

I don't know all the athletes, but swimming, baseball, and the track ones are fun. Rowing is not bad. I will watch any, even gymnastics. The girls look good and can do some crazy stuff and tricks. Its not my favorite event but its good. In the winter I like everything too. Skiing, Tobagan, Hockey

Let's not forget the true 'powerhouse' events...rhythmic gymnastics, ballroom dancing, and synchronized swimming! Of COURSE baseball had to be removed, to make room for important stuff like this!

I've got no qualms with baseball being removed from the olympics, as long as other team sports are removed as well.

Because the Brits don't think its a sport, and they host the next summer olympics after Beijing

So, I am going to say this to the Brits: Cricket and Soccer ain't sports, and team Italy is the only good soccer team

I'm not sure, but I believe part of the reason baseball was removed was related to drug testing. I'm not 100% on that but I will look it up.

No I guess I was wrong. I read about 10 articles and didn't see anything about drug testing. It seems to be that the blue bloods felt they were too American and lacked international appeal.

I hate Brits now almost as much as New Yorkers, and thats saying something. I mean, they taxed us for tea! And stamps! And went to war with us!

The area around Beijing’s massive Bird’s Nest stadium will be turned into a shopping and entertainment complex in three to five years, a state news agency said Friday.

Officially known as Beijing National Stadium, the showpiece of the Beijing Olympics has fallen into disuse since the end of the games. Paint is already peeling in some areas, and the only visitors these days are tourists who pay about $7 to walk on the stadium floor and browse a pricey souvenir shop.
