I remember seeing a post a couple days ago about Jack Cust not living up to his potential. Then, to add insult to injury, he somehow manages to take the place of 39 year old Barry Bonds, who mind you is still one of the premier sluggers in the game and is making a cool 90 points.

Bonds:
Con B+ Arm B-
Pow A+ Rng B-
Spd B- Fld B+
Eye A+ Hlth B

Cust
Con A- Arm C-
Pow A+ Rng A+
Spd D+ Fld A-
Eye B+ Hlth B+

Cust manages to amass a gaudy .232 average with 13 homeruns, 58 rbi and 151 strikeouts in 409 at bats, while batting cleanup. Meanwhile Bonds' hope of breaking Aaron's hr record is stuck on the bench at 683 with time running out. Do you play Cust over Bonds? Would anybody park Bonds and his 18 million dollar swing on the bench? This is really the only part of the game that gets me is some of the poor roster management, not to mention the highly paid late-thirty year olds that sit in the minors.

Any other Jack Cust horror storries? He's never done anything for me, must just be one of those players that just plain don't do jack for anybody.

Actually, snepp, I hate Barry Bonds so much that whenever I see him to be available, I pick him up regardless of cost just so I can bench him. One of the few truly irrational things I do, but I enjoy it so.... :)

Well in that case it's a little different, now assume that the player mentioned previously wasn't named Barry Bonds, he was making 18 mil, and he was better than someone else that was starting over him, would you have him sitting on the bench, probably not.

to go to the minors if he has played for many years...anyway in real life a player with alot of experience can even refuse assignment to the minors...it annoys me also...some times a gm will put a player in the minors in his contract year just to try to get his salary demands down...anyway bbm needs to address this situation, i think...just my opinion thoough

He has held his own in CF.....250+ PO's 7 assists ....and a RF right at average.
He isnt as bad as Cliff Floyd with 40-80 errors a year. Bout 6 or 7.

On the matter of sitting stars on the bench in there contract year or the year before in order to get them cheaper, this is very unrealistic and yeah A waiver rule or something would put an end to this:(

Good point about the waiver rule. It is kinda cheap that people sit great players to get them cheaper later on.

A waiver rule would be great. I usually would bennefit because i reuild even when i get a contender.
