Does it matter what number a pitcher is in the line up

I move a player from my number 4 starter to my number 2 and he has now started to improve, so i decieded to move some of my other pitchers and they are all now pitching better apart from my number 3 who started the season well but is not now doing well and i did not even move him, so does it matter what postition they are in? or was this all luck?:confused:

I think it does matter where they are; but it could also be some luck too.
