GOING FOR THE GOLD

I was sitting back, like I normally do on a Wednesday night, the year is 2006, January 11th, pretty cold here in Colorado. BRRR! Watching some Broncos' football, too bad those Rockies aren't on, I love 'em. My life is dull, here's how it is, I wake up, take a shower, comb and do my hair, eat some breakfast, go to work, come back, eat dinner, go to sleep. I hate my life, why did I end up with the boring life I was so cool in high school, damn. Wait the phone is ringing, god, probably another company calling to give me new windows or to rebuild my house. Well I might as well answer the phone. How nice my caller ID says John Doe, stupid kids making prank calls.

"Hey, stop pranking me "John Doe."

"It's not a prank man, we're a car company and we're low on workers, would you ... like to join."

"NO!"

"Ok, go back to your boring life."

"What the ... well I will."

"Go back to watching your stupid Broncos' game."

"Whoa, wait how did you know I was watching the Broncos."

"Because you sound like a guy who likes the Broncos."

"Never mind, just leave me alone."

"Alright, you can go watch the Broncos on your old fashioned TV."

"How the hell do you know that? Are you spying on me? Where are you, WHO ARE YOU?"

"Don't get your panties in a bunch, open the front door."

"NO!"

"Do it!"

"I'm not doing that, how the heck do I know your not a killer or something."

"Open it, if you have the ...."

"I WILL! You little prick."

Wow! What has this world come to when people on the phone tell you to open the door, well I just heard the door bell, the prick wasn't lying. I opened the door and I heard a loud BAM! I stumbled and looked at a couple of guys dressed in suits with a huge check, I took a second to regain my footing and looked at the check, it said $50,000,000 bucks and I was about to die.

"YOUR A MILLIONAIRE! CONGRATULATIONS YOU'VE JUST WON 5 MILLION DOLLARS!"

I couldn't take the excitement, I fainted, and it was just a blur from there. 10 minutes later the guys were still there chuckling and I got back up anxious but also nervous.

"Wha.... what happened? I quickly asked.

"Well every year, we give any random person in the U.S.A $50 million dollars, we picked your name directly out of a hat, your our lucky winner."

"********!"

"No it's true, the check will be cashed in by a phone call, just say the word."

"YES! HELL YES!"

"Lucky winner, have fun with the cash, sorry about the phone call we gave you."

They took the check and made the call, I was rich, and my life had just become less dull, way less dull. I was getting calls back and forth, charities here, friends there. I had to disconnect my phone but people just kept coming to my house and coming. They wanted my cash but I refused to give it to them, I knew what I was doing with it. I did give a million to my parents but thankfully I'm an only child, so I kept the rest. Even though I could be helping charities and homeless but I don't care, my life has been nothing but crap and I'm going to improve it thanks to my newfound cash.

... To Be Continued, That's Right, You're Going To Have To Wait To See What This Guy Does With Cash

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Let me tell you guys one thing though, the name is Larry ... Larry Liberg, aged 29. Alright, well I bought a check book because never had one, didn't think it was necessary just used cash but with $49 million, I'll be writing out a lot of checks. I brought the check book with me on my journey to the Colorado Rockies office building. I stepped in and the scene was nice and I walked over to the counter where a lady was on the phone

"Excuse me!" I said.

The lady began talking to a client and I was extremely pissed off, I did something that you should never do. I whipped out my check book and slapped the women with it, her face turned blood red.

"WHAT!" she screamed.

"Calm down, I was trying to get your attention, I think a man with $40 million dollars deserves some respect."

"Who exactly are you?"

"Larry ... Larry Liberg, the $50 million dollar winner, remember."

"Oh right, another snob," she muttered.

"Shut up!"

"What do you want, you idiot?"

"I want to discuss something with Charlie and Dick."

"Who?"

"The Monfort brothers."

"Who are they?"

"They own the Colorado Rockies!"

"Oh, well let me check if they're in the book."

"THEY OWN THE ROCKIES!"

"Well this book shows who is in this building that has an office."

"Are you kidding me?"

"No! Now oh there is two Monfort's, Dick Monfort, and Charlie Monfort, they reside on the top floor in offices 316, and 317. Do you have an appointment with any of them?"

"No but I have 100 dollars!"

"Are you bribing me?"

"Maybe."

"Well ... I like money, give me 200 and I can let you pass."

"Deal!"

I had my check book in front of me and I wrote 200 on it in the name of...

"What's your name?"

"Polly Winther."

I finished my check and I handed it to her, I bet she's a prostitute.

"PROSTITUTE!" I muttered.

She heard me because she gave me a dirty look, he he.

I went to the elevator and it took a long time to get to me but it did thankfully and I had the patience to wait, I got it and it was packed, I clicked the top floor but oh boy was I in their for a while. Minutes later I was there. I looked around and found the office of Charlie Monfort, it was way down the hall. I knocked and I could see through the blinds. A man dressed in a black and white suit opened up the door for me and let me in. It was only him and Charlie.

"Can I talk to Monfort?"

"I'm his assistant what do you need?"

"I need to talk to Charlie!"

"Let him come William, just don't waste my time."

"I won't, I have a business proposition for you."

"What is that?"

"I'm Larry Liberg, won the lottery, 'member?"

"Yeah I heard, so ...."

"I would like to buy off of you ... the COLORADO ROCKIES?"

He was speechless but then his face was filled with joy.

"SOLD! I hate this team, give me all your cash and I'll do it."

"I only have $49 million, gave my parents a million."

"SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! Take this rotten team, me and my brother Dick hate it, thank you very much."

"Your welcome very much, so what now?"

"I don't know, I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!"

I was about to faint again and Charlie and his assistant got out the door and I heard him start screaming happily. Wow! I own the Rockies, how did this happen, and there I went fainted again, except this time it was longer, and I was out.

Well, I know that was really quick, but it happened, more to come, read and enjoy!

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Now I was really in a situation I didn't want to be in, in my entire life. I'm literally stuck! I'm clueless, this is now my office but what do I do? Well I think I have a plan, I'm going to phone call the GM and tell him, wait what's his number, oh here's the phone book, after a long time, 30 minutes, I have finally found his name, Dan O' Dowd. I called him on the office phone and he picked up.

"Hello?"

"H...H....Hi."

"Who's this, I'm going to hang up."

"No, no I'm the new owner of the Rockies, I just bought the Rockies out."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"It's true, the Monfort's quit and I'm the Rockies owner."

"That can't be."

"Oh hell yes it can, I'm rich, well not anymore but whatever, the Rockies belong to me, Larry Liberg!"

"Your the lotto winner aren't you?"

"That's true!"

"Tell me you don't own the Rockies."

"I WOULD but I'm not a liar, I'm the Rockies owner *****!"

"Great now I'm owned by a freaking lunatic."

"Don't call me a lunatic because I can break you or I can make you."

"What did you call me for? To gloat?"

"No I called you because I don't know what to do now that I'm owner."

"Oh so now I'm the man in charge, well what do you want from me?"

"What do I do?"

"Own the Rockies!"

"I mean how?"

"Well you can start by talking with Hurdle, he lives at 560770 Blakewood up on 77th street."

"Thanks!"

Well I talked with him and I've finally figured out a lot of things, well he said just to look around the stadium get a feel for it and try to figure out a way to get fans to come to our games. I drove my 1998 Pontiac to the Rockies stadium and it took me a long time to find the entrance because well frankily I never got off my lazy butt to come watch a game, but I found it and it was huge, I slowly walked in and continued walking until I entered into the seats behind the dugout. It was a beauty, I attempted to jump the huge fence but it didn't work out so well. Anyways I got out and found the way into the dugout and entered. I glanced at the huge bench and took a seat on it feeling like a player, it was wonderful, I looked under the bench and found gum all under the bench, whatever. I looking at the dugout fence and went toward it and laid against it, it was cold against my bare hands. I took off my Rockies hat and put it on top of the fence and shouted "RALLY TIME!" at the top of my lungs. All I heard was my echo, it was empty, and boy oh boy was it cold. The grass was in a pattern but had frost at the top, I left my hat there (bad idea) and walked out of the stadium and took one last look and smiled. I was the new owner for the Colorado Rockies and the youngest too and I was proud, couldn't wait to hear this on the news.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

After a few days, the newspaper came out, I was ecstatic. The front page had ROCKIES' NAME NEW OWNER in big bold letters. It was all about how I became the new Rockies' owner, I was famous and my life was changed thanks to that $50 million, wow, well Clint called me to go meet our entire team, here's our roster excluding the minors except for a few that are amazing minors leaguers.

BATTING ORDER:

C Yorvit Torrealba - Yorvit is the best catcher we have available and he works for now, his arm is pretty awesome and he is a great defense catcher, but he is greedy and has a huge ego.

1B Todd Helton - My favorite Rockie, Todd Helton, the man is an amazing contact hitter, has a good amount of power, and he gets walked a lot, Todd's eyes are great, and he is a fun-loving, out-going guy, good guy to hang out with.

2B Jamey Carroll - Jamey is a nice second basemen, he can hit the ball for contact, not much power but he runs very well, and his defense is off the charts, this guy loves to help out with community and likes to be treated like a normal guy, really cool guy.

3B Garrett Atkins - Garrett is young but he's been in the majors for 4 years, a great contact hitter, good eye for the strike zone, but his ego is HUGE, that's his horrid quality, not great personality either.

SS Troy Tulowitzki - Troy Tulowitzki is really young, 2 years in the minors that's it, he's a rookie but his potential is huge, Tulo is really speedy and one of the best defensive shortstops in the MLB. Just like Garrett though, he's got a huge ego and says he's the best, but he's a fun guy too.

LF Matt Holliday - Matt is a great player, only 26 years old, can hit for contact and power, he's a great player with a great future, and he's really funny, I hung out with him, great personality.

CF Cory Sullivan - I think Cory will become pretty good, is a speedy outfielder, and an amazing fielder too, he's a pretty nice guy and I like him at center.

RF Brad Hawpe - Hawpe is going to his third season, the guy is pretty decent, and has a strong eye for the strike zone, and his defense is top notch, really cool to hang out with and an out-going guy, has a bright future in front of him.

BENCH:

2B Luis A. Gonzalez - Great backup and could platoon, great fielder, has some ego problems.

CF Jeff Salazar - Rookie that I just called up, I like him a lot, good speed, very greedy but a nice guy.

SS Jason Smith - Has really nice speed, great utility infielder, and nice guy overall.

SS Clint Barmes - Not great offense but has some nice defense, Barmes has some potential and a great guy to talk too.

RF Ryan Spilbroughs - Good speed, a great defense player, a rookie, only played on game last year, very quiet guy though.

LF Eli Marrero - Former catcher, Marrero is a 9 year veteran that will fit nicely into our team to help the youngsters, good overall player but from what I've heard, he's taken some pain pills and I think he's also taken drugs, hopefully that stops.

GOOD MINOR LEAGUERS:

SS Omar Quintanilla - Great prospect and amazing defense, I like him so far.

3B Jeff Baker - I've heard good things about Baker, he should transform into a very good third basemen.

C Chris Ianetta - Loads of power, his defense is off the charts, this guy will end up as one of the best catchers in the league in the future.

3B Ian Stewart - This guy is a superstar in the making, pretty nice defense, but our scouts want to see more from him as do I.

I'll talk to you about pitching later, I just got an important call from Dan O 'Dowd and Clint Hurdle.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Alright, well I just met the pitchers, those guys have an attitude too. Here's what we have!

STARTING ROTATION:

SP Jeff Francis - The ace of the crew, the 25-year old Jeff Francis, has had 2 years of MLB experience and he has loads of potential, I like this guy but the greedy egotistic ******* doesn't like me.

SP Jason Jennings - A sweet starter is Jason Jennings, doesn't allow many hits, but he's pretty young, he's actually a nice guy who isn't interested in too much money.

SP Aaron Cook - Aaron Cook was a former relief pitcher, he doesn't walk a lot, but he allows very few hits, but he is egotistic, hopefully he turns his attitude around.

SP Zach Day - Zach is entering his fifth season, hasn't reached his peak but I think he will get better, very aggressive in the club house, I really wish he weren't.

SP Josh Fogg - Josh is the oldest guy on the staff, but until our farm becomes better he'll have to start at the fifth rotation spot, he is also one of the most un-greatest idiots in our club house.

RELIEF PITCHING:

CL Brian Fuentes - Brian has been a Rockie for 4 good years, he finally took over our closing position last year and he has been money, striking out a bunch, he's a cool guy though.

RP Mike DeJean - DeJean is a great veteran, has contributed to our team and former teams throughout his career and still has a few good years in him.

RP Ray King - Ray is a great relief pitcher, has been contributive throughout his career, he loves to help the team win and always has his rally cap on.

RP Byung-Hyun Kim - Kim is a great reliever and is very young but yet a veteran, he strikes out a lot, and can start from time to time.

RP Manny Corpas - Manny is a rookie just going into his first year, and is going to develop into a great relief pitcher, his personality isn't great though.

RP Mike Venafro - Mike is a decent contributor, but still isn't too good, he is aging and not getting any better, at he's very kind and has no ego whatsoever.

GOOD MINOR LEAGUERS:

RP Ramon Ramirez - The guy has loads of potential, is a sweet rookie, I expect him to turn into a relief pitching prodigy.

SP Ubaldo Jimenez - Ubaldo is great, he's bound for glory, I think he will develop into an ace in due time.

SP Franklin Morales - He has loads of potential, could develop into a good rotation starter and will throw a bunch of complete games.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

I got an urgent call from one of the players, it was Tulowitzki, I was pretty pissed, probably wanted more money, well I put on my jacket and stepped into my white shoes and walked out the door and met Troy at the location he had told me. I knocked on the door and I heard nothing, I knocked again and still nothing. I figured Troy was fooling me so I tried the doorknob ... it was open. I had a bad feeling about this, I unlocked the door and ... I found Troy on the floor.

My only thought was to call 911, and I did so.

"Hello!" I yelled.

"Sir, what is your problem."

"Someone is down, I just got here, come to this address, uh, it's uh Ra ... own 593418, some of the letters are blacked out."

"Sir, we need your location, we'll have police coming, we have an address close to that, we'll be there soon."

I panicked and tried to wake Troy, he was unconscious, I put my hand under his head and it was moist, I took a whiff. It smelled sort of like beer but I wasn't certain. Moments later I heard police sirens and they quickly knocked on the door, I hesitantly answered and there were about 4 of them and another one that had a notebook.

"Sir, what has occurred?"

"Well this guy, Troy, called me and he said it was urgent so I came and this is how I found him, I think he drank too much."

"Sanchez, Jackson, check him out."

I observed the officers as they looked at Troy, they flipped him over and all over the back of his and upper back was beer stains, the guy just turned 21, probably was extremely happy and wanted to get drunk, I lowered my head and the officer came toward me.

"I think he was drinking with a friend I'm told, the friend left and he probably blacked out, he's in bad condition, sorry sir."

"I understand, just need to find the friend."

"The guy was probably young, birthday certificate was left, 22 years old it says."

"Well we have some 22 year olds on the Rockies."

"Rockies? What does that have to do with anything?"

"Troy is on the Rockies, got the start, I told him yesterday that he would start."

"Poor guy, got too excited and wanted to drink, but tell me the guys who are 22, we'll check them out."

"Ok, Chris Iannetta is 22, Ubaldo Jimenez is 22 but doesn't speak much English, Juan Morillo is 22, and um we have Alberto Arias who's also 22. That's pretty much it!"

"We'll check them out, thanks for your help."

"No THANK YOU!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day I got a call from the police, I didn't think it was any good news though.

"Mr. Liberg, we have good news and bad news."

"What is it?"

"Well the good news is we found the friend who was with Mr. Tulowitzki that day."

"Then what's the bad news?"

"The friend was on your team."

"Who?"

"It was Iannetta."

"NO! This sucks!"

"There's more bad news."

"Come on, what could be more worse than this?"

"Iannetta wasn't in trouble for drinking with Troy but he got into a car crash and was charged with drunken driving and was arrested, he must stay in the jail for the night and needs to pay the $25,000 bail."

"Oh, thank god, anything else?"

"Yeah, Troy was out cold for hours, he has forgotten minors things, and had a concussion from falling on the fall fainting and Chris told us he left when that happened, and he was actually the person that called you."

"Ok, so how much is Troy out for?"

"Troy can't play baseball until he gets healed which will take a couple weeks, then he'll go to rehab, should take 2 months, and then he will have to watch the entire first month of baseball from his T.V or from the seats, we can't trust him just yet."

I smacked my head knowing this would kill us, "But, we need Tulo!"

"Sorry, blame him."

"Alright thanks for helping, I'll be sure to talk to Chris."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that Troy would not start we needed to get a shortstop, the free agency was garbage so we needed to trade. We had our eye on Hanley Ramirez, Bill Hall, Felipe Lopez, and Cesar Izturis, we went and attempted to go for Bill Hall first. We were not giving up a lot because we Tulowitzki back in a month so I talked with Hall himself on the phone of course, it took him a while but he picked up.

"Yeah?"

"Hello Mr. Hall!"

"Who 'dis?"

"Larry Liberg, former lotto winner, current Rockies' owner."

"Aight, who?"

"The guy who owns the Rockies' we want to trade for you."

"Well I ain't for trade, homey, so go talk to someone else."

"Alright, but it's your fault once your team goes down."

"Yeah right," he muttered.

I went to my second option Cesar Izturis, he's fine with being backup because that's what he does with the Dodgers. I talked with the Dodgers' GM.

"Hello?" he asked.

"Yes this is the Rockies' Owner."

"Anything you need?"

"Interested in Izturis."

"Cesar?"

"Yeah!"

"What are you trading for him?"

"Relief pitcher, Justin Hampson & shortstop, Omar Quintanilla?"

"Two good prospects for Izturis, that sounds good, I accept!"

"Nice working with you!"

"You too!"

Well I have my shortstop needs filled, here's the deal in a recap.

ROCKIES GET:

SS Cesar Izturis

DODGERS GET:

SS Omar Quintanilla
RP Justin Hampson

Our team is completely done, and we have no needs to be filled, but I like a bunch of players that I can't get.

Chris got out of jail just before our opening game started and I met him at Star bucks and we got a cup of coffee and began to talk.

"So Chris how ya been?"

"How do you think I've been? I had to spend the night at JAIL! The reason being because of you."

"Calm down man I was just asking."

"Well I'm not well that's for sure, my best friend hurt himself and mostly because of me."

"I'm sorry for that, but he got hurt and I wasn't going to rest until I knew what happened."

"Just leave, I'm sick of you and I wish you weren't the owner, you know what I quit unless you give me a money boost."

"Alright, here's what I'll give you, your new salary is $11,001 dollars, happy with that?"

"No, because I q...."

"You're going to quit, no because I'll fire, apologize or your ass is out that door."

After a moment of thinking Chris responded, "Well I don't give a **** about you or this team, I'm too good for you guys, I want to be traded, NOW!"

"Oh don't worry you'll be out the door as quick as I say bye!"

I left the room and spilled my coffee on his shoes and he was mad as hell, I walked out the door and made a few calls and Iannetta was on the block right away. I got offer back and forth, Iannetta was a huge hit, I talked to the first guy, Minnesota's GM.

"Mr. Liberg, we hear you're Iannetta."

"You heard right."

"We can give you 22-year old shortstop, Nick Punto..."

I hung up on the guy, Punto sucks. My next offer was from the Royals', I quickly answered the phone.

"Larry, trading Iannetta could idea."

"Who are you offering?'

"Doug M?"

"I need way more than that, this is Chris Iannetta."

I kind of lied to him but whatever.

"Like who?"

"Billy Butler, Alex Gordon, Jimmy Gobble, Ryan Braun, Zack Greinke, Jose Diaz, and Joakim Soria."

All I heard was the phone beeping, he hung up on me for sure, what a loser, I turned to the last good offer I thought was left. I talked with the White Sox' GM, he was a pretty nice guy.

"Larry, the Lar-ster, what's going on?"

"Cut to the point!"

"I want Iannetta!"

"What are you offering?"

"Ross Ga...Ga LOAD!"

"Who?"

"Ross Gload!"

"Oh alright, I think we can work out a deal. I accept!"

"Nice working with you, thank you!"

"NO THANK YOU! Have fun with Iannetta."

"I shall!"

What an idiot, well whatever. Gload will suit well, here's the recap.

ROCKIES GET:

1B Ross Gload

WHITE SOX GET:

C Chris Ianetta

Gload would start and play the outfield at right field and Brad Hawpe would get the start at center replacing Cory Sullivan. Barmes would get replaced and go back to triple A. Hawpe will keep his lineup spot, Gload will bat second and Carroll will bat lead off. Sully goes onto the bench. I can't wait, opening day is hours away.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Opening day was now, I was sitting in the front row in the outfield, made talk with Brad [Hawpe] as the game got under way, he left me and I watched the ball game and smelled the nacho burps and the fresh smell of the freshly mowed grass. Jeff Francis took his warm up pitches on the mound as Phillies' speedster, Jimmy Rollins was taking some practice cuts, Torrealba was sitting behind the plate stretching and catching a couple of balls.

The game got under way and Rollins swung at Jeff's first pitch, a curve, Rollins singled to left field and started the game of with a base hit. Abreu singled down the third base line advancing Rollins, Chase Utley's double play scored Rollins to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead to start off the game.

Our first inning was quiet, we went one, two, three. As the game progressed the game began getting closer and closer. A three-run seventh by us blew it open. Brad Hawpe and Yorvit Torrealba combined for the 3 RBIs in the inning. The Phillies pounded Kim in the eighth and rebounded scoring 3 runs to tie the ball game up at 8-8.

The game went into extra innings, the fans were in it the whole time. Manuel Corpas & Mike DeJean pitched a combined 2.1 innings and one hit the Phillies. Ray King pitched a quick eleventh but the Phillies blew it open in the twelfth led by Carlos Ruiz' two run shot and we couldn't come back in the bottom of the twelfth and the Phillies took our game 1 opener, well we were close.

Clint Hurdle called me up at 7 AM in the morning, wow I've changed my alarm to 8 AM but come on 7 in the morning, wow boy oh boy, I was extremely tired, I quickly answered the phone though.

"Larry, you there?"

"Y...Yeah, why did you call me ... so ...early, I'm tired man."

"Because I have news."

"What news?"

"You know why Brian didn't play yesterday?"

"Why not?"

"He wasn't even at the game, he was going to get warned, but anyways..."

"Did he die?"

"NO! It's pretty bad, his dad ... died."

"That must suck, so what's the bad news for us?"

"He's flying up to Boston this weekend, and will get back for our 3 game series against the Diamondbacks."

"Alright, don't panic."

"I'm not panicking, just wanted to know what we would do?"

"Alright put Manny Corpas to closer, call up Jose Mesa to take over in middle relief."

"I'll do that."

"Tell Brian I'm sorry for the poor guy."

Well our top notch closer is out for 2 games, this has got to suck. Opening day wasn't what I expected but we put up a good effort even though Francis gave up 5 earned runs.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Alright after opening day here comes the second day of the season and pretty much the second game I've been too.

APRIL 2nd vs. Phillies

The Phillies took game 2 of our 3 game set, getting to Jason Jennings in the seventh scoring 3 and then pounding Ray King for some runs but Mesa pitched well in his one innings. Cesar doubled and had an RBI, and Matt Holliday also had himself an RBI. Jamey Carroll was on fire, he went 4-4, stole a base, and scored a run. Jason Jennings strained an elbow ligament as well but should be back in time for his next start.

PHILLIES 7-2

APRIL 3rd vs. Phillies

Finally we earned our first victory, Aaron Cook didn't pitch well giving up 6 earned runs, but the offense held it together to secure the victory. Yorvit was sweet, he had 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and scored a run. Garrett Atkins & Izturis both had 3 hits along with 2 RBIs. Todd was the 4th player who had 3 hits and Brad got walked 3 times by Phillies pitching. Gload is struggling in his last 2 games and is hitless. Our relief pitched 3 innings of no run ball to help us win.

ROCKIES 11-6

We lost that series, that's alright we can rebound against the Diamondbacks with Brian coming back. Jose Mesa will stay in relief and Ray King will get demoted to the triple A Colorado.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

I was sitting at our fourth game and the two guys beside me were drunk and extremely obese. One of them whipped out a cigar and began smoking and I started at him with a dirty look.

"Ya want a cigar?" he asked me.

"I don't smoke."

"Just try it, you'll like it, don't worry."

"No I'm good."

"Just try it!"

"NO!"

"YES!"

"I'm not going to kill myself you idiot."

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing, never mind."

"Are you trying to start something?"

"NO!"

"You better not, so what are you doing here?"

"I own ... the Rockies."

"So you're that Liberg person?"

"Yeah I am."

"I heard Tulo got drunk, Iannetta was kicked out, and Fuentes left the team."

"And...?"

"Sounds like a scheme to me."

"What are you saying? What scheme?"

"I don't know man, maybe they want to get you fired."

"Why?"

"So they can be rich and own the company."

"Yeah RIGHHHHHT!"

"I'm just saying."

"I'm just.... SHUT UP! Prick, just leave before I get security on your behind."

"Alright, I'm gone!"

What a dip ****, scheme? What's he talking about, what a loser, I hope he rots in hell. Alright well let's get ready for the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

APRIL 5th vs. Diamondbacks

Zach Day pitched excellent giving up only 3 runs through 6 and 2 thirds innings of play to help us conquer the Diamondbacks. Todd Helton was fantastic hitting a homer, scored twice, and had an RBI. Hawpe had 2 hits as well and was walked as one of the many walks giving up my Arizona pitching. Brian earned his first save but was not looking good with his stuff, he surrendered a lead off hit, followed by a 4 pitch walk, he managed to strike out two but then gave up a run scoring double to Drew on a fastball that was left hanging.

http://tennesseeguy.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/todd-helton.jpg

ROCKIES 6-4

APRIL 6th vs. Diamondbacks

Back to back wins have us is business, Josh Fogg pitched a great outing. He pitched 8 innings, surrendered 3 runs on 6 hits. Matt Holliday lit up our offense, he had 2 hits, was walked once, scored 3 runs, and hit a solo shot to left. Helton & Jamey each had 2 hits and had an RBI each. Corpas pitched a flawless ninth to earn the save.

ROCKIES 6-3

APRIL 7th vs. Diamondbacks

Our sweep was gone after a 3 run second and third. Jeff lasted only 5 innings giving up 10 hits and 6 earned runs. Ross was excellent, having 3 hits, and had a solo shot as well. Our offense was not hot and our pitching wasn't pretty great either.

DIAMONDBACKS 6-1

GOING FOR THE GOLD

BAM! That was the sound I heard as the ball torched Hawpe's foot. Here's how it went down.

We were taking batting practice for our night game against the Padres and Brad was getting a pitch from number 2 start Jason Jennings, he torched it ... OFF HIS FOOT! He screamed and fell down and holding his foot in pain. Our 2 trainers and Clint ran to his side and I found my way onto the field to check him out. The head trainer ruled it a broken foot and Brad was helped to an ambulance waiting outside who picked him out. The doctors say he'll be out for about 10-12 days, not a huge injury as we thought it would be. Another huge bloew, first it's Tulo, now Hawpe. Sully will start in place of Hawpe in his rotation spot and Barmes will get called up once again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

APRIL 8th vs. Padres

What a game, what pitching performance from Jason Jennings. We won it 2-1 led by Jason Jennings who pitched 7 scoreless innings and then gave up a 1 run in the eighth but that was it. It was a crucial situation when Fuentes walked a runner to score a runner with the bases juiced and the continued to be loaded with power hitting Ryan Klesko. Klesko found a hole but our amazing gold glover at short made a diving stop and tossed it to second to get the force and stop the damage. Matt Holliday whacked a ball into right for a solo shot homer. Sully had 2 hits and a sac fly RBI.

ROCKIES 2-1

http://www.sportable.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/jason-jennings-custom.jpg

APRIL 9th vs. Padres

Close game but we took the loss this time around with Aaron Cook surrendering 3 runs and the relief giving up 2 more. Our offense was led by Yorvit was drilled a triple in the right field gap with the bases loaded. Barmes had a pinch hit single to drive in a run and thats it. Kim was not good and gave up 2 runs to screw us over.

PADRES 5-4

APRIL 10th vs. Padres

Extra innings, extra pain! Zach Day and Woody William pitched amazing outings, Day gave up 2 hits and 7 scoreless innings in his outing. Because of this amazing outing we had to go into extra innings. In the bottom of the eleventh, with Manny Corpas pitching, Mike Piazza singled with 1 out and advanced when Gload bobbled the ball and that left Piazza on second with an out. Klesko came up huge with a single to left and Holliday's bad arm couldn't catch Piazza at the plate to secure the win for the Padres and to give Klesko a walk-off win.

PADRES 1-0

GOING FOR THE GOLD

A couple hours after our afternoon game with the Padres, I got home, took a quick shower and began was off to go get a drink with Dan but I heard the doorbell ring. The people there weren't very patient so they broke the door down and started yelling. I ran to where they were and I was shocked. They were dressed in police uniforms and one of them shouted, "GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!"

"For what? I didn't do anything."

"GET DOWN OR WE'LL SHOOT!"

"Do it! I'll sue you for all you're worth."

"DOWN ON THE GROUND!" the guy on the left shouted.

I didn't hesitate and got on one knee then smirked.

"DOWN!"

I felt embarrassed but proceeded and laid straight on the ground as a guy who was broad pulled my hands together and cuffed me.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" I yelled.

"Be calm, sir or you're not going to be happy."

I gave him a dirty look as he pulled me to my feet and he shoved me through my door and we walked to a police car. One of the officers got in the passenger seat, and he pushed me in the back as he walked to the driver's seat. I began asking questions as he began to drive. "Hey pricks, what are you doing?"

"You'll figure out soon."

"Stop playing tricks with me, I own the ****ing Rockies!"

"We know, that's one of the reasons you're here."

"What?!"

"Is there a problem?"

"Yeah, leave me and my players out of this, because I did nothing wrong!"

"Well a lot of players are in this, so are you, you can't talk your way out of it?"

"How about I give you a couple thousand bucks and you let me go?"

"Nice try but no, we're police officers and we don't let criminals get away."

"Criminal? Are you kidding me? What did I do wrong, because whatever anyone told you is wrong!"

"Shut up!"

"...FINE!"

They drove me to a warehouse, wow, police officers, yeah right. I got pulled out of the car and they directed me to go inside. I looked around, I saw a bunch of police officers, some authority figures, but the thing that amazed was that I saw Fuentes sitting on a high chair.

"Larry, nice to see you," Brian began.

"What the **** are you doing?"

"Well you see Larry, this team isn't yours anymore."

"How is it not?"

"Well someone, unknown, who was in the clubhouse caught you with illegal drugs in your back pocket, in fact, I bet you still have them on."

"I do, but I was about to change and why would I have illegal ..."

"CHECK HIM!"

A man, strange looking looking in my back pocket and pulled out steroid tablets and some marijuana. I was laughing, but I knew they weren't mine. That guy in the stands was right, should have listened.

"Lock him up, fellas!" said an authority figure.

"Brian, don't worry, I'll get myself out of this, and you're not going to be owner either, because Dan will, have fun while it lasts, because your going to prison once I get a hold of some of my "friends" as I like to call them."

"Buddy, I think you should be put into a mental institution but jail is fine for now."

A man pulled me out and shut the doors but I could steal hear a bit. I actually heard Brian talking.

"Good job guys, you too Troy, he's going to jail, and I have a paper signed by Larry giving me the rights to ownership."

"How'd you get it?" asked some guy.

"Well when I went to my "dad's death," Larry had to sign something allowing me to be gone with pay for 2 days but he, Clint, and Dan should have looked a little more because that note was to give me ownership of the Rockies! Brilliant right?"

"Oh yeah Brian!" congratulated the men.

NO! That means he really does own the Rockies, NO! I'm screwed, I need to find my way out of this but first I need to get out of jail.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

I glared at my prison roommate, he was charged with attempted murder, scary guy, thankfully I made friends with him. My bed was small and it was a bunk bed, my room had a sink and it was really small, I was dressed in an orange prison uniform, I'm in a bad situation. Dan and Clint said they could get me out but it would be hard. A jail guard came up to our cell.

"Liberg, get up, pack your stuff, and come with me," he said.

"Sweet!" I responded.

I quickly packed my stuff, and waved good bye to my fellow roommate and strutted out of the room. The guard opened the door with his key and directed me to the jail court room. I glared at everyone studying them. I saw Brian, Troy, a lawyer, and IANNETTA! They were sitting side by side, and on the other table were sitting Dan, Clint, and a lawyer. I saw a judge and jail guards guarding the area. I was told to sit down (embarrassed about my uniform) and I quickly sat next to Dan and Clint.

"Alright, everyone is here for a reason, and we're going to get to the bottom of it!" announced the judge.

"We shall, oh we shall," responded Brian.

"Brian, I told you I'd get out," I said.

"Whoa, who said you were out? This is a trial to decide whether Brian has control of the Rockies, whether you really did have illegal drugs, and it decides if you stay in prison for 10 long years or you get out," the judge said.

"... Alright let's get on with it," I said.

"Ok, so our first order or business, did you, Larry John Liberg has possession of steroid pills and/or marijuana in your pocket during the Padres' game on April 10th, 2006?"

"Well, to be honest, NO! They were stuck in there, Troy must've put them in there when I was busy."

"THEY WERE IN THERE!" shouted Troy.

"Order in the court. Mr. Tulowitzki, you say you saw them in his back pocket, do you have proof?"

"N...No, but they were in his pocket," Troy answered.

"YOU PUT THEM THERE, YOU LYING *******!" I quickly shouted.

"Calm down people, alright well we have hand scanners here, so we're going to have to ask you Troy, Mr. Liberg, and Brian to please insert your hand."

"No, ********!" both Troy and Brian claimed.

"If you do not, you will be sentenced to a year in prison.

"Fine," they muttered.

The guards helped Brian to find one of the scanners and he laid his hand onto it, it took a quick second and it showed no use of illegal drugs or any other cigarette dust. The judge let Brian go back and he told me to come, I was shackled so the guards helped me over to the scanner, I pushed my hand down, and it scanned it multiple times to see if I had any drug dust on my hands over the past couple days, I was fine, the scan showed negative. Then came Troy, he was nervous, he hadn't washed his hands for a whole day (dirty, dirty guy). The guard put his hand on the scanner as he hesitated and it scanned, the scanning machine acted up and it showed POSITIVE! Troy attempted to run but a huge guard caught him.

"Mr. Tulowitzki, you were lying and because of that, you are going to be punished, get him out of my sight, and put him in the county jail ... for now," the judge said.

"Damn..." Brian muttered under his breathe.

"Alright, now onto our next and last topic, Brian you say that Mr. Liberg here signed away the rights to the organization, show me the papers, and Mr. Liberg, I need a copy of your signature, do you have a checkbook on you or anything?"

My eyes popped up, I did have a check book on me, Brian asked his lawyer for the papers and pulled them out, I pulled out my check book and we handed them to the judge.

"Hm, Larry, I'm sorry but the signatures are a match, no way he forged it, same pen, same color, same everything, Mr. Liberg you're not owner of the Rockies' organization anymore, I'm sorry but it's the truth."

"Haha Y...." Brian was interrupted.

"Wait a minute, you didn't sign the rights to Mr. Fuentes, you signed it to someone else."

"Wh...What?" Brian said nervously.

"It says here, you are signing the rights over to Mr. C...Chris Iannetta."

"HOW? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!" Brian shouted.

"Brian, you know how I was there when you typed this letter and when you took that bathroom break, I changed it to say Chris Iannetta, he he," Chris Iannetta began speaking.

"YOU *******!" Brian responded.

"Alright order in the court, everything is settled, Brian you're still only a closer, Mr. Iannetta, you own the Rockies, you can still play for the White Sox but I don't know if you want too. Mr. Liberg, you're back to an ordinary man, you can try your best but I don't know if you can get the rights back, COURT DISMISSED!" the judge answered.

"Wait am I still in jail?" I asked.

"Nope, your out, un-shackle him, I need to get to my wife, cranky old lady," the judge finished his speech.

I dropped on one knee as the un-shackled me and I stood in the empty court room while everyone left feeling so bad, and there goes all my hopes down the drain.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Well I bought my tickets online for our Dodgers game, front row too well anyways I was pissed, I was now an outsider, not an owner. Well the latest news is that Troy was sentenced to a 1 year prison sentence for lying in court and won't be able to play in the MLB until he gets accepted by commissioner, Bud Selig which will take about 2 years in total.

Brian will return to closing, but no one says he won't blow games for us. Chris put his major league career on hold and will be taking over for GM, maybe for good. I no longer will make any roster moves, Chris will and he made a trade right away. An idiot he is, he traded for Tigers relief pitcher, flamethrower Joel Zumaya. He may throw hard but I say the guy sucks. Here's the deal the idiot, Iannetta made.

ROCKIES GET:
RP Joel Zumaya

TIGERS GET:
LF Eli Marrero
RP Ray King
RP Ramon Ramirez
SP Alberto Arias

He traded away a decent backup catcher in Marrero, a nice relief pitcher in Ray King, and two spectacular prospects in Ramirez and Arias for a young flamethrower, watch Zumaya fail for us. King will play in their long relief while Chris assigned Zumaya to pitch in the pen for us.

Izturis will be sat for our three game series against the Dodgers are Luis Gonzalez takes over and bats eighth, we wanted a gold glove player instead of Izturis and Luis is our guy.

The game came quickly and I took my seat as Iannetta was sitting in the suite in a nice suit smirking at me. I did not make eye contact nor did I speak with any of the players because I felt that I shouldn't. I did hear Sully and Holliday say some mean words about Chris. Well the game got under way.

APRIL 12th vs. Dodgers

Damn! After a hell of an eventful day off we took the loss. Fogg skipped his start because he wasn't feeling very well, had the flu, so Francis had to play on short rest. A costly error by Garrett Atkins screwed Francis who gave up only 3 earned runs and 8 un-earned runs. The relief was perfect, Zumaya pitched a flawless ninth inning. The only offense we got were RBI singles by Helton and Sully. Garciaparra would not back down, he was a BEAST! He was 4-4, with 2 homers, scoring twice, and had 5 RBIs.

DODGERS 8-2

APRIL 13th vs. Dodgers

Jason Jennings wasn't so good after his great start last week. He gave up 6 runs, 4 earned, another Atkins error, that guy can not field, thinking of giving Luis the 3B spot soon. Helton had a sac fly for an RBI and that was it as we lost 6-1. Sully had 3 hits but no RBIs and no runs scored.

DODGERS 6-1

APRIL 14th vs. Dodgers

The Dodgers readied their brooms but boy oh boy were their brooms gone quickly. Our offense absolutely EXPLODED for 18 runs. Cook pitched well despite 3 homers allowed. Yorvit was untouchable. He was 3-5, with a homer, a walk, 2 runs scored, and 6 BIG RBIs. Gload and Holliday were great with 3 RBIs a piece, Gload had 4 hits, Holliday had a 3-run shot. Gonzalez torched a solo shot, Atkins was 4-5 with 2 RBIs, and Helton had an RBI, and walked a career high in a game, 4 times. The Dodgers allowed 11 walks and had 3 errors.

GOING OF THE GOLD

I went to take my front row seats for our Padres' series. Chris was sitting on a seat right next to the dugout and the players were ready to take the field. I looked to my backside and saw many people with black clothing and even saw a black mask in someone's hands. As the players took the field, two of the five men in black put on their black masks and then the rest of them did the same. I was looking closely and saw one of them pull out a black object, very long, IT WAS A GUN! The civilians sitting by them screamed and ran away. The gun he had was a sniper rifle with a scope. The other two pulled out snipers and then the last two had handguns. The entire rows were they were sitting were empty and my entire row was the one that was stayed. We all looked as one of men pointed a sniper to the field.

BANG! BANG! The shot drilled the ground right next to first basemen, Todd Helton sending him straight to the ground astonished. Another man pulled out his sniper aiming at the field.

BANG! BANG! He hit Jason Smith straight in the foot. Smith tumbled to the ground with a gash in his shoe spewing out blood. The head trainer checked on him as everyone began to call 911 and the players began to exit the field. Yet another sniper was pulled out by the last guy with a sniper. He was aiming at the Padres' dugout, Shawn Estes thought it was a drill and a bullet came straight toward him. Trevor Hoffman attempted to dive and save Shawn but it was too late. The bullet hit him in the thigh and he hit the ground with Hoffman on top of him. Two trainers rushed to his side but ambulances were on their way. The two men with a handgun rushed to the field, jumping over the fence. They rushed to Chris was scattering into the dugout but one of them was very fast and managed to get within 10 feet of Chris. He eventually lost his momentum but pulled the trigger twice.

BANG! BANG! One bullet missed Chris by a couple inches but the second drilled him in the lower back. Chris fell on the ground as two security figures tackled one of the gunmen while the other had his gun pointed at Sullivan's face who fell on the ground running away. The guy's gun was an inch away for Cory's face. Police stormed to the scene and came very close to Cory. They pointed their guns at the gunmen. "Put your hands up!"

The man didn't listen and pulled out a second handgun but in the process, he twitched and Cory was able to duck. The man shot three bullets in the air.

BANG! BANG! He missed since Cory was ducking and the police were able to tackle him. The snipers were hidden at this time still loading their guns. One of them was found and pulled away with the sniper being taken away. One of the snipers aimed at the fallen Chris who was attended by only one trainer, not even the head trainer. The sniper shot a bullet coming straight toward Chris.

BANG! BANG! IT HIT CHRIS! Nailed him in the upper chest area near the neck. Chris began gushing blood as EMT's came to his side. The sniper was found and was pulled away but the last one had his gun directed at .... ME! I looked straight at him and apparently the fan next to me was Padres' owner John Moores. I can't believe I missed him. He saw the dot pushed me to the side and the bullet didn't even shoot because his gun was jammed. John and I rushed to him and tackled him to the ground as police came to the scene. The incident was over but there were problems.

Hours later, people were injured. Jason Smith suffered a broken foot and will be out for the season. Todd was just fine though. Shawn Estes badly hurt his thigh and will be out for at least 3 months maybe 2. The worst injury of all was Chris' injury. He got hurt badly. He extremely hurt his lower back and the bullet cracked a bone. The bullet to his chest didn't go as far but still hurt him. Chris will be in the hospital for a long time and his duties as owner will be fulfilled by me for the time being because I was the only one capable of this. For all I care I hope he rots in hell, and I hope someone shoots his brains out at the hospital so I can piss on his grave, maybe that was a bit
inappropriate but I don't care.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Our game was postponed until tomorrow where we'd host a double header with the Padres. Security was tight meaning they checked everyone that came in and out. Everyone was secured and there were ambulances and police cars guarding the stadium inside and out. Alright well I actually took Chris' seat exactly where he sat the day before at Padres' stadium. We were cautious and paranoid but we continued the game as opening pitch came.

APRIL 16th vs. Padres

Sweet Victory! We took the victory this time against the Padres 6-3. Ross Gload had 2 hits and scored both times. Sully was really frightened but when he got a pitch to hit he didn't wait up, he drilled it for a 2 run single. Todd and Garrett each had 2 hits and Atkins scored a run. Carroll, Izturis, and Yorvit each had RBIs, Yorvit with two RBIs. Day pitched picture perfect going 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The relief allowed a hit and no runs. Fuentes saved the game.

ROCKIES 6-3

APRIL 16th vs. Padres

Back to back victories! We took another one from the Padres 9-5. Fogg pitched a fantastic outing going 6 allowing 3 runs. The relief allowed 2 but we managed to pull away with the victory. Sully nailed his first homer of the year with a 2-run shot to straight away center. Matt had 3 RBIs and also had 2 hits. Todd got walked 3 times and had 2 RBIs. Ryan Spilborghs and Yorvit each had an RBI a piece.

ROCKIES 9-5

APRIL 17th vs. Padres

SWEEP! A nice sweep and our first of the season too. Jeff finally pitched a good inning and the relief did as well as DeJean got the save for the injured Fuentes (3 days). Ross had 3 hits and an RBI. Matt had 2 big RBIs, and Carroll chipped in with one RBI. I like the way we're playing and I think we are doing very well.

ROCKIES 4-3

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Well after all that we had an off day and the 5 men went to court. They were all sentenced for 2 years, the man who shot Chris was sentenced for 3. There was 2 things they had in common, they were all Greek except for one and they had connections with a baseball player each. Here's their names and the relations they have.

#1 Thomas Silas -Cousin- George Kottaras
#2 Shawn Pantiagokas -Cousin- Aaron Miles
#3 Jean Quellet -Nephew- Eric Gagne
#4 Nikolas Angelos -Step Brother- Mike Tonis
#5 Andreas Markakis -Brother- Nick Markakis

Weird, but whatever and I got a call, it showed 'Private Call' on my caller ID and answered it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Shut up a listen," the man responded with a raspy voice.

"O....k...."

"I want the five shooters out of jail or all hell breaks loose."

"Who is this?"

"Out of jail or you and the MLB are in trouble."

"I need a name, first name, last name, I need one or I can't help you."

"....John..."

"Ok, John, this is not in my hands I don't control the jail, I don't know what to do."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I am!"

I heard a muffled voice and the voice became clearer and I heard Josh's [Fogg] voice, "HELP! LARRY! DO WHAT HE WANTS!"

"Listen "Larry" you get my friends out of jail or a bullet gets in his head!"

"I'll do what I can."

"That's not good ..."

The man's voice went dead and I heard a ringing noise and I heard a loud bullet before the phone was shut. I called 911 and reported this and they tracked the location but it was empty and all they found was blood on the floor and a gun that had no handprints. I got a call later on from the police.

"Mr. Liberg, we'll examine the blood and see who's it is, but for now stay calm please."

I shut the phone and I was not calm, I needed to know the truth, I need to get to the bottom of this.

Alright our game was starting, against the San Francisco Giants. I sat near the dugout and both George Kottaras and Mike Tonis were both Giants, Kottaras was benched while Mike Tonis was starting at catcher for Mike Matheny. The players took the field and guards were on all cylinders looking for more intruders. I was scared as hell since of my phone call yesterday. The results had not come in but it was still examined. Josh Fogg is still nowhere to be seen, I don't know what to do yet though. But, but, but, my man BRAD HAWPE IS BACK!

APRIL 19th vs. Giants

We went into extra innings yet again, but this time we took the victory 9-8. No intruders, no nothing, thank god! In the elventh, Brad singled followed by a double in the right field gap by Atkins. Then came Mr. Money, Yorvit TORREALBA! He singled on a 2-0 fastball and we walked off. Yorvit finished the game with 4 hits and 2 RBIs. Izturis had 2 RBIs as well with Carroll, Gload, Holliday, Helton, and the pinch-hitter, Cory Sullivan chipping in with an RBI a piece. Jennings had a shaky outing giving up 6 runs in 4 innings on 8 hits. Mesa and Zumaya gave up a run a piece but the pen pitched amazing giving us a chance to win it.

ROCKIES 9-8

After the game I saw Tonis and Kottaras trot to the locker room and I saw a few men follow them with photographs of each and a sharpie to get their photographs signed. Nobody was looking at me so I followed to see what was going on. I hid behind the door and heard a couple words and was able to see how many photographers there were, 3 of them.

"Excuse me, Mr. Tonis, Mr. Kottaras, can you please sign this?" asked the first guy.

"Sure!" they exclaimed.

They quickly autographed the photographs and right after one of them pulled out a medallion.

"We like you so much, you guys are awesome, will you take these medallions?" he asked.

Both men stared at each other wondering why in the world three random fans would give them medallions when they lost the game and Mike blew it with the bases juiced striking out. They took them and put them on as the fans smiled and left, I quickly ran away before they came.

In the distance Mike and George un-dressed draped in towels and turned on the sizzling hot water. The one thing they did not know is the medallions were caesium, an element on the periodic table that reacts weirdly when it connects with water. Each got into their shower and did not notice the medallions until they felt extremely hot water around their chests but just thought it was the hot water.

"Really hot water," George said.

"Yeah!" Mike replied.

"So..." George could not continue.

The medallion began to fluctuate and soon enough it blew up and before the men could scream they hit the ground blood spewing around them with the hot water washing away the blood.

I was certain the fans had poisoned him or something so I warned the security guards and by the time that got there, it was too late. Both men were proclaimed dead and I think it was my fault. I knelt on one knee and I needed to find out what happened when that guy called me.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

(In my previous post, the medallion idea I got from a book called "Ark Angel" by Anthony Horowitz, great read)

I got a call right after the two deaths, I picked up quickly.

"Mr. Liberg, we have bad news, a lot of it," a person said.

"This is?" I asked.

"This is the police!" they announced.

"Continue please."

"Alright, well we found out who's blood it was, and sadly enough, it was Josh Fogg's blood."

"God no!"

"I'm not finished, we found a small bit of his blood but most of it, was the blood of Andrei Markakis, the father of both Nick and Andreas Markakis, he' still alive and we believe he's out to kill."

"So what happened?"

"Well we found Josh on the floor in an abandoned two story house, he was fine except for a few small cuts. He told us, he and three other men were in the room, the other men were friends or co-workers with Andrei. So, Andrei of them gave Josh a punch in the mouth which caused him to bleed, but the strangers were afraid Andrei was attempting to kill them so they shot Andrei in the leg and ran. Josh saw Andrei crawling away and that was it."

"Is there more?"

"Yes, we believe the three men who killed Mike and George also shot Andrei, but Josh's memory is a little messed up so he can not explain them to us."

"Can you locate Andrei or any of the killers?"

"No, but if they call you, PLEASE, do what they say. They are out to kill and they might be targeting Nick Markakis or Bobby Kingsbury, they might as well be attempting to blow up the prison where the five men who hurt Iannetta are located."

"Are you sure Andrei and the other men aren't connected in any other way with the shooters at Petco?"

"They might be, we need more information, we don't know who or what they're targeting next."

"I understand, I'll try to figure something out."

I shut the phone and I was frightened, I knew Chris was targeted but am I next? Is Nick next? Is Kingsbury next? Or are my players next?

An hour later my phone rang and it read Markakis, Andrei. My blood was racing and I hesitated by I answered.

"H...Hello?" I questioned.

"Larry, remember me? DO YOU!?" said the voice.

"No."

"I called you a while ago about Josh, you may know me as Andrei Markakis, and yes that's who I am."

"I know what happened."

"I know you do, I had my best guys record calls between you and the police, I was shot in the leg, yes, but I did go to the hospital because the bullet barely grazed me, so I gushed some blood, and I'm good, a little hard to walk."

"What do you want?"

"Why do you think I want something?"

"Because I just know."

"Well you're right buddy, now I want not five but one of the shooters out, I want Andreas out of there."

"Why'd you change your mind?"

"SHUT UP! I'll tell you though, I changed my mind because the rest mean nothing to me and their relatives are dying so they probably don't like me anyways."

"What will you do if I don't listen?"

"I will Nick! No I won't, he's my son, I'm not going to kill him, but I will kill Bobby Kingsbury and I will send some of my men to KILL ... YOU!"

"Ok...I'll do it, but I have one last question."

"FINE!"

"Alright, well why did your own men shoot you?"

"Let's just say, there still my men."

"...Fair enough, I'll tell the police..."

"NO! You break them out or another men dies and you will be targeted."

"...F...FINE!" I finished.

I was in loads of trouble and I'm sure it was a plot, what was I going to do, our game was tomorrow, Josh was safe but will be on the DL and miss his next start with someone in the minors making a spot start.

It was dark out, rain was lightly drizzling over our city and I put on black jeans, black shoes, a sweat shirt, and a black bandana. I had to disguise myself because I knew it was time to get Andreas out of jail, it was 11:05, I opened the front door and sprinted to the prison which was 8 miles south of my house. It took me around an hour to get 6 miles closer. I was a track star at school, so I was pretty speedy. Midnight had passed and as I was walking toward the prison my eye caught a glimpse of what was a bike, I jumped on it and began riding. It took me about 10 minutes and I was a half mile from the prison. I discarded of the bike and slowly walked toward the prison.

I stared in the face of death, the county prison. I saw lights flickering and the night guard was on duty. I casually stepped in and he awoke and strolled toward me. "What can I do you for?" he asked.

"I would like to talk with a prisoner, Mr. Andreas Markakis."

"Sorry, can't do that, it's late, no late night visits."

"Alright, sorry for wasting your time."

"No problem have a good night and sleep tight."

The guard turned around and pushed the door open but never left. I crouched to the ground and crawled to counter which blocked me from entering the guard's headquarters and the prison cells. I found an opening under the counter and through trying to find a way to get through the door that leads to the cells. The guard walked over to his laptop and picked up a jelly doughnut. I entered his area and stood up silently as he never noticed me. I grabbed the door handle and turned it slightly, no noise. I pushed it half open and walked in. The guard just turned around so I hid behind the door. "I never left that door open," he muttered.

He walked toward the door and pulled it shut as I was unnoticed. I got down on the ground and crawled to another door which opened the cell area. The man laid back and took a nap giving me a chance to open the door. I did so and I entered a soundproof room. I looked through the hallway and saw prison cells on each side with men in all of them. They all begged me to get out but most were asleep. It took me a long time but I finally found the hallway at which the 5 Petco shooters were. All of them were sleeping, so I took a small rock I found when I discarded the bike and attempted to hit Andreas.

The rock hit him in the foot which was bare. He slapped his foot but did not wake up. I found a small rolled up paper ball next to Jean Quellet's cell and picked it up. I tossed it at Andreas, sadly it missed his head by a couple centimeters. I had to resort to my last choice, I quickly said his name. His eyes flickered open and then shut. I said his name louder, but to my dismay the other cellmates were awaken as well as Andreas. Most thought it was a drill so they went to sleep but Thomas Silas and Jean Quellet were still awake. There eyes were still weary but they talked amongst themselves, not noticing me. Andreas stared straight at me, "Who are you?"

"I'm a friend of your father's."

"MY FATHER?!"

"Yes!"

"Well screw him."

"I'm hear to break you out."

"Really? That's BS right there, no way in hell you got here. Your a guard."

"No I'm not!"

"Then break me out, you must have a key at least."

"Unfortunatly, no."

CRAP! I forgot to steal a key to the jail cells.

"Then how am I going to get out?"

"Wait I have a match box in my pocket, how'd I forget."

"A MATCHBOX?"

"I keep it around for safe measure..."

"Ok, what are you going to do, blow the bars off?"

"Yes! Stand back!"

I took the matchbox out of my pocket and lit a match and attempted to get the bar to catch fire. It took six tries before it caught fire but it finally. The fire took 10 minutes to get an inch bigger. Me and Andreas waited until half the bar on fire. It was now 2:11 AM. An hour later the bar was 3/4 full with fire. The other cellmates smelt the smoke and all awake, shouting for me to help them. I kept the thoughts out of heads and the bar was being destroyed. Soon enough the wall above the bar had fire and the entire jail was in jeopardy. Andreas squirmed out as I heard voices coming from the door, two policemen were charging. I found the emergency escape and me and Andreas quickly got out.

The police were on our tail but we lost them as we found a hiding spot next to the barbed fence. They kept looking as we got out and tried to find a way out of the prison. It was hard enough getting in, it's going to be harder getting out. We jogged to the entrance/exit and the guard spotted us. He attempted to shut the big steel doors but I managed to escape. Andreas tripped and he foot was about to get cut right off. I looked back and pulled on his arm and I pulled him to safety.

We turned around and a police car shined it's lights on us. Andreas made a break for it and got safely away. The head police officer made his way out of the car but I managed to get away. He fired his gun, I saw the bullet headed towards me, it missed so I got away. I met up with Andreas at an empty field. The field was filled sharp needles poking out of the ground, in case prisoners escape.

We were trapped ... for now. Andreas and I neared the fence and attempted to climb to the right side. We made it, but there were needles under us. I was able to jumped into a field next a to them and I ran to the road which had a car pass by every 10 minutes since it was late. Andreas continued to climb the fence to stay away from the needles, then he jumped off but landed on a needle, a small one. It got stuck but he managed to get to the road. A car approached us and to our surprise it was a man that let us in. He drove us to safety but after a talk with him, he ended up calling the police knowing that Andreas was a runaway. We hightailed out of the car and we found an area where we could stay for the night.

While Andreas was sleeping I made my way home and when I got there it was 4:23 AM. I redialed the number of Andrei Markakis and on the third ring he picked up. "MR. MARKAKIS!?"

"You didn't break into the jail did you?"

"I did!"

"Alright, where is my son?"

"Hey I did your deed, I broke him out and he's safe, but that's it. I ditched him."

"Fair enough, a deal is a deal, but remember one thing, if I find out you hurt him or he's not safe, YOUR DEAD!"

"Alright, bye."

I shut the phone and dropped on my bed to get a rest.

About an hour after I fell asleep my alarm rang, I was tired and I could barely get to my feet. I grabbed my cell phone and called Clint and informed him I was going to sleep in and watch the game on T.V, he allowed me.

Before the game started I got a phone call from our head medical trainer. I got horrible news. He said Zach severed knee ligaments during his last start which forced him out of the game but I was so busy I didn't know anything, so he told 25 year old RHP Miguel Asencio will start until we either sign a free agent or make a trade.

APRIL 20th vs. Giants

Aaron Cook was on his best tonight, performing excellent going 8 strong giving up 2 un-earned runs and getting the win giving us a 2 hitter. Yorvit had an error and Atkins had 2. Garrett has 5 so far and can't play defense for his life. Todd Helton crushed his third homer and Matt Holliday crushed his 5th of the season. Garrett's offense is still good as he got 2 RBIs as did Todd who also got walked twice, his eye is amazing as he's been walked 17 times ranking second in the majors. Holliday had an RBI and Mike DeJean earned his second save. Our winning streak is now at 6.

ROCKIES 5-2

APRIL 21th vs. Giants

Brian Fuentes' return, wasn't pleasant. Miguel Asencio's start was not good, he only lasted 4 giving up 7 runs. We kept Garrett in for his offense and he did well, chipping in with an RBI. Cesar and Ross combined for 3 RBIs and 4 hits. Matt Holliday was 4-4 with a homer (6), a run, and two RBIs. Todd was walked twice and had an RBI. Zumaya's performance was not good as he gave up 4 earned runs, I knew his signing wasn't a good idea. Our winning streak ended at 6.

GIANTS 13-7

After our weekend we needed another starter, Asencio wasn't it, so we went out to get one. We talked and made a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers to acquire Brett Tomko.

DODGERS GET:

LHP Mike Venafro RP
LHP Josh Newman RP

ROCKIES GET:

RHP Brett Tomko SP

We gave up two left handers which are rare to find but Mike doesn't perform well and Newman is still young and might not have a future. Jose Mesa is hurt so he will be on the DL for a few days with Ryan Speier making his second stint in relief. Miguel will go back in the minors with Tomko becoming our fourth starter. Ubaldo and Franklin Morales are performing very nicely in the rookie league and we're keeping an eye on them. Nate Field is also showing a valiant effort triple A. Ryan Shealy, Geronimo Gil, Alvin Colina, and Ian Stewart are having good performances in the minors as well.

I was able to make our day game with the Padres, this time we were at home, thankfully. I was able to get front row tickets as they didn't allow me on the field or next to the team afraid that the recently escaped convict Andreas Markakis would shoot me down which was not true. I was not able to get an information on anything, I just took a lot of rest haha.

APRIL 22th vs. Padres

Losing in extra innings is horrible especially because a reliever blew it. We went 11 long and lost 8-5. Ryan Speier gave up a lead off single to Khalil Greene in the top of the eleventh followed by a fielder's choice putting Brian Giles on. He struck out Piazza then Sledge singled and that brought up Vinny Castilla. Ryan threw 3 straight balls then got a fastball in. On a 3-1 fastball up in the zone and maybe a bit outside, Castilla took a giant rip and made big contact. The ball went WAY WAY back and way over the left field fence giving Castilla a three run bomb. We got a man in scoring position and that was it. We can't blame it all of Ryan though, Brian blew his first and gave up a homer to Piazza, his performance has been shotty as of late. Helton had a homer and 2 RBIs. Hawpe, Izturis, and Sully each had an RBI. Tomko's performance was great, he went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned.

PADRES 8-5

APRIL 23rd vs. Padres

COMPLETE GAME! Mr. Jeff Francis finally pitched like an ace as he pitched a complete game giving up a run in nine as he improved to 2-2. Izturis and Atkins each had 2 RBIs with Helton scoring twice.

ROCKIES 4-1

APRIL 24th vs. Padres

More of a game for our bench players to get a chance to play. We won the series led by a high powered offense. They performed much better than expected. Each Luis Gonzalez and Jeff Salazar had a homer, 2 hits, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs with their stats identical. Sully and Todd each had an RBI. We exploded in the seventh scoring 8 RUNS! Only three of our 9 runs were earned. With two outs Khalil Greene made a costly error scoring a run for us and then a two run two out single scored 2 more and Jeff Salazar's homer put the finishing touches on it. Greene's error was game changing giving us 6 runs. Pitching wise Jason gave up 6 runs in 5 innings but relief along with Fuentes pitched us to victory and to a save.

ROCKIES 9-6

I just got back home from our Padres' game and Brian called me. Why, would he kill me or something? What, did he want to quit? I picked up though, "Hello?"

"Larry, why so down?"

"What do you want?"

"I was just going to ask if you want to go for coffee."

"Sure!"

"Alright meet me at Starbucks."

"Sure thing."

I did as asked because I had nothing better to do. I drove my 2003 silver Ford Focus ZX5, it took me around 10 minutes to get there. I got out of my car and I saw Brian.

"Hey Larry."

Before I could say hello, he charged at me and kicked me in the gut, I was gasping for breathe. He put his hand over my nose and mouth until I passed out. The last thing I knew Brian was laughing, I dropped on the ground, and I passed out ...

I finally got my head and body parts working. I could not do much but I regained consciousness. I did nothing but I could hear. I had no clue where I was, no clue what day it was. I heard a beeping noise which was gone within seconds. I heard more voices, "How long you think he'll be in the coma?"

"I think he's about done with it, the machine is showing good results."

"Hey Brian, thanks for your help, without you this guy would be dead."

"No problem, I feel so bad, he got hurt."

"It's alright."

I knew Brian had said some stuff but I had no clue who the other men were? Was I in a coma? How? I attempted to flicker to my eyes but the light was too hard of my eyes. I tried again and I got a glimpse of everything. I saw three doctors with clipboards, a piece of Brian, Dan, my brother, and my ex (uh oh).

Three hours later, the doctors opened my eyes and put a flashlight on them. When they let go, my eyes remained open and they had a look of awe on their face, "He...He's alive! HE'S ALIVE! HE'S OUT OF THE COMA!"

Everyone crowded me including Brian. Dan was thankful and was called for a business appointment so he left. Brian stepped back and brought my ex with him, a couple now, I see. My brother hugged me, and I was speechless because well I couldn't talk. I gave a small, real small smile, and my brother grinned. The doctor's motioned for him to leave and I was alone. The doctor's tried to help me and removed most of the devices connected to me. I had my eyes open for a while, very happy that I was alive. I only hoped people found out what Brian did, when I get out I'll KILL HIM! AH! Too much thinking, too much pain. I slowly glanced at the calender and each day was crossed off, it was April 27th. The clock showed 9:50 PM. Meaning that our game was on, Brian missed it, *******. My eyes flickered shut and the head doctor gave me a shot to get me to sleep, I was down and I fell asleep...

Well, the doctors worked on me all night and I finally got back to normal. Clint gave me a summary of our two games and laid it next to my head while I was asleep. I woke up at 4 AM at night, and then read over it. My coma was very short

APRIL 26th vs. Marlins

Wow! The pitchers did great and put up a duel allowing 3 combined runs. It was rocky fifth inning for both. Cook allowed one earned run while Atkins' leadoff error gave them one other run. Aaron lasted 8 innings, for the complete game as we batted first. Our only offense was a Yorvit double who scored on Carroll's single. If not for Yorvit's double play in the sixth inning, we might have tied the ball game because we had the bases loaded with an out. That was it.

MARLINS 2-1

APRIL 27th vs. Marlins

Brett Tomko pitched on short rest because Josh still needed some treatment but pitched us to a 9-3 win. He gave up 3 runs in 6 innings and the relief pitched well. Ross Gload was amazing, he hit the ball 4 times, got walked once, scored twice, hit a solo shot, and finished the game with 3 RBIs. Holliday had 2 RBIs while each Carroll, Helton, Atkins, and even BRETT TOMKO had an RBI. Cesar had 3 hits and scored all 3 times, he has been and with the loss of Troy, he will start for the next 2 years. In his last ten games, he has 15 hits, 2 doubles, 6 runs, and 7 RBIs batting at .429 in only 35 at bats.

ROCKIES 9-3

I fell asleep once again and I woke up around 11:25. We had a really early game today, our earliest of the season, 12:15. I watched the pre-game report, and then Rockies' live. The game finally came and I watched, my head a bit dazed.

APRIL 28th vs. Marlins

Josh Fogg is real rusty, he gave up 5 earned in 4 innings of work and the relief did not help giving up 5 big runs. Our offense did pretty well though. Todd hit a bomb over the right field fence for 3 runs. Carroll, Gload, Izturis, and Barmes (pinch) hit an RBI a piece. Our offense has been there just need our pitching to be there.

MARLINS 10-7

I just stared at the post-game and my brother came and we talked, I took a short nap around 5, and was anxious that I was leaving the hospital tomorrow at noon.

I was feeling really good but didn't go to the Rockies' game and did not communicate with anyone other than Dan, Clint, and my family. Brian was still unharmed and no one knew what happened, but I'll get him back, don't worry.

APRIL 29th vs. Dodgers

We took game 1 of our 3-game set, 3-1. A 2 run eighth put us ahead for good. It was Brad who came up clutch with a 2-run single in the eighth. Garrett doubled in a run in the second. Jeff performed amazing once again, giving up only 4 hits on 1 run in 8 innings with Brian obtaining the save.

ROCKIES 3-1

APRIL 30th vs. Dodgers

Brian blew his second in 7 opportunities. He gave up a 3-run BOMB to give the Dodgers a walk off win. Jennings pitched fantastic giving up 2 runs in 7 innings. Todd had a solo shot, and Yorvit pitched in with an RBI as well. The other two runs came on a Rafael Furcal error.

Dodgers 5-4

APRIL 31th vs. Dodgers

SWEET VICTORY! We had Yorvit and Garrett sitting on the bench with Miguel Ojeda and Luis Gonzalez playing. Miguel was superb, having a hit, a run, a homer, and 2 RBIs. Each Jamey & Matt had an RBI to help us become victorious. Furcal made another crucial error to score another run for us. Aaron Cook pitched yet another good outing and yet again pitched 7.2 innings giving up only 3 runs. Brian pitched for the third straight and got the save.

ROCKIES 5-3

Overall great series, and we took first in wild card yet again.

After the series was over, I finally went to Coors Field to check it out right after the game. I caught a cab since my car was being towed. It wasn't too long until I got there. I stepped out of the cab and a crowd of reporters greeted me. I shoved them out of the way and walked through the doors of the stadium. A group of security guards greeted me and escorted me to the stadium. The seats were empty but the field was crowded with players, fans looking for autographs, and news journalists. I walked around it and walked toward the dugout. I came in and saw loose gloves, bats, and balls laying around.

I motioned for the security guards to leave and heard a conversation in the locker room, in Clint's office. I hid behind the door and through a thin hole I saw a piece of a player's jersey, and it read "Fu" it was Brian. Opposite of him I saw a man with greyish - blackish hair, Clint obviously. I heard a conversation between them. "Clint, what are you trying to say?" Brian shouted.

"I'm saying, if you blow a save in your next 7 opportunities, your going to go back to a place called the minors, Triple A Colorado Springs."

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO ME!"

"Yeah, I can, I'm the manager of this team, I was hired, so go back to your business."

"You can't do that, I will own this team in sure time, you demote me, and I'll fire you."

"How?"

"How what?"

"How will you own this team?"

"I have my ways, and if Larry keeps getting into "accidents" Chris has the right to pick someone to own the team in his place, because when Larry was re-named owner, Chris was too hurt to talk, but now he can talk."

"Who says he'll pick you?"

"I DO!"

"Sure, buddy, now get out."

"Alright, but remember one thing, if I do blow a save and you do demote me ... let's just say ... your going to get into an "accident."

"Are you threatening me?"

"It's not a threat ... it's a ... PROMISE!"

Clint stood there speechless and pointed Brian out the door and he left I ran around the corner back to the entrance as Brian went to go shower. I walked back and stepped into Clint's office and smirked. He grinned and he got up and we got a cup of coffee. We had an off day tomorrow so Brian and the whole team will have time to think. Clint kept mentioning how well Manny Corpas was performing and mentioned he would get to play closer in due time.

After I woke up the next morning, a light bulb popped in my head, Joel Zumaya needed to be traded, and we need relief pitching. I got an amazing offer from San Francisco that would send Jeremy Accardo to us but I declined. Minnesota's GM, Terry Ryan called me up. "Larry, I hear your trading Zumaya?"

"You heard right? Any offers?"

"Yeah, a giant one, how about this."

"Continue..."

"I'll send you Willie Eyre ..."

"Are you joking?"

"I'm not done, and I'll also send you Mr. PAT NESHEK!"

My eyes lit up but I wasn't as interested in Neshek as I was in Francisco Liriano. "How about Liriano and Neshek, no Eyre?"

"I hope your joking."

"Ok, how about I'll add in Jeff Salazar?"

"Add someone else and this deal could fly."

"Zach Day?"

"Let's disclude Liriano, if you're not dealing your stars I'm not dealing Liriano."

"Alright here's what I got, Zumaya & Salazar for Neshek & Alexi Casilla?"

"That's sounds fair, Salazar could bloom and Casilla I know nothing of."

It was a done deal, and boy was I happy. I just acquired a second basemen of such skill in Casilla and an amazing top of the line reliever in Neshek. Here's a recap of the deal.

TWINS GET:

RP Joel Zumaya
CF Jeff Salazar

ROCKIES GET:

RP Pat Neshek
2B Alexi Casilla

Neshek would be put in the 'pen in short relief. Alexi will stay in Triple A Colorado Springs with Choo Freeman getting his contract purchased. Clint was so excited that we got Neshek and that lets us move Brian to the minors without trouble if we need too and Brian was nothing but angry because he now has more of a chance of getting demoted.

The next day we were off and I turned on my television at around 3, just after I ate some food. I was watching a nice show, Scrubs. It was a comedy, pretty nice and I just got in it as the main character, John Dorian aka J.D, just found out he was having a baby. It was a re-run so it was made a year or so ago. Right before it got midway through the show the T.V switched the program and gave me a news report. It read "BIG NEWS!" I changed the channel but every channel had it, so I finally decided to listen. The reporter was talking in a serious tone, "If you've just tuned in, or just opened your T.V, this is breaking news from Colorado. We have breaking news from the Rockies' baseball team."

I was sipping my water quietly and heard the end of it and sprayed my water in front of me, gasping and my brain quickly tuned in. "We are sorry to reveal someone has been badly hurt and another has died, because of this man..."

The T.V showed this picture...

http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/3084/brifuebi4.png

It was pretty messed up but he later said, this was the latest picture of Brian and the photographer had a bad camera. He continued ... "You may know him as a pitcher for the Rockies, he is Brian Fuentes. We know him as a gunmen, coward, liar, and a murderer. The police and government have accused him of attempted murder twice, murder, drunk driving, drug overdose, false accusation, and perjury."

I was in awe on almost everything but knew most of it already. He was not finished though, "First off, he attempted the murder, of Rockies' owner, Larry Liberg who was in a 3 day short coma. He was knocked out by Brian who attempted to take away any breathe from him to make his lungs stop but Brian's grasp on Larry was not long enough. Secondly, Brian lied under oath after Larry told the court and police that Brian did it. He took a drug overdose this morning on weed and crack which caused him to drink. He did not know what he was doing so he got into his Oldsmobile, drove all the way to the house of Clint Hurdle, almost running over many people and got out of the car..."

I was about to die right there, because I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I needed to hear the rest of it. The man barely continued, "...And he barged into the house, found Clint's wife along with Clint sitting down eating lunch, this happened at 11:45 AM. He whipped out a 9 mm pistol and shot randomly. Thankfully he was not seeing clearly so his aim was not good but Clint's wife, Alexandria screamed and began running to the backdoor but that was a mistake. Brian's weapon ... nailed her in the neck area and she fell, sadly to her death. Clint was hidden under the table but pulled up the curtain and saw his wife dieing so he quickly jumped out of the table and charged at Brian who shot him in the leg. Both of Clint's daughters heard the bullets, and charged at Brian from behind taking him down. One grabbed the phone and called 911 who came as quick as they could with Brian on the ground dazed, drunk, and drugged. He left the house in handcuffs, killing Alexandria and badly injuring Clint."

I dropped on one knee, knowing that I caused this, this was my fault but Brian will pay, Chris will pay, Troy will pay, and once I get word on what's going on with the Markakis' I will make them pay. Tears dripped from my face but the reporter had not finished, "Brian will be in jail for life, and we have some ... GIANT NEWS! BREAKING NEWS FOLKS! I have news on Brian Fuentes and more. The detectives, police officers, and jail guards have broken it out of him, Brian has admitted the truth. We are getting word that Brian was part of a gang, a gang that was formed right after Chris became owner, a gang named COLORADO MARKAKIS'! I have no clue why they are called that but everyone that was at the Petco shooting along with Andrei Markakis, Nick Markakis, Brian Fuentes, and Troy Tulowitzki are part of the gang. We know that Andrei, Nick, and Andreas Markakis are out of jail and we have word that Andreas was broken out but both Andreas and Andrei's locations are disclosed while Nick is prepping for his Angels' game tonight. In fact, we know that there are MORE MEMBERS OF THIS GAME! This is unreal. Be aware, I'm not sure of much more, stay tuned! STAY TUNED!"

My eyes turned giant, I broke out a criminal from jail only to see one of best friends and his wife killed and injured. There were more? I had to stop them, before they struck again. I know they meant business but so did I. My job was to get the Rockies to victory but now it's to keep the Rockies safe and still get them to victory. I was a determined soldier in a war where I was alone. I saw 4 pictures on my screen, one looked like George Bush, the other like Troy, another like Nick, and the last like Andreas.

An hour after the interview I called Dan up and I met him at a local coffee shop. He was angered, a red face just like me. We sat down at a table and began chatting, "You saw didn't you?"

"YEAH I DID!" he shouted.

"Calm down, I know your feeling, I want to kill Brian too but don't worry we'll get those Markakis'."

"HOW DID ANDREAS GET OUT OF JAIL!?"

"Alright, it was me, I broke him out because I was held at gunpoint by his father Andrei."

I can't believe I lied but I had too.

"The George Bush look-a-like, alright, we'll get them, we'll kill them, they're threatening the community and that won't happen in my town."

"Let's think realistic about our manager duties, Clint won't ever return I can guarantee that."

"We'll ask him but we need a replacement, maybe permanent."

"Who's available?"

"Cito Gaston, Trey Hillman, Tony Gwynn maybe, and Ryne Sandberg I believe are available."

"Let's go for Gaston."

"He's a tough nut to crack."

"Tell him it'll be worth his while, a huge bonus."

"Alright I'll talk to him."

We finished talking and shook hands and Dan went to try and contact Cito Gaston.

I waited and waited ... and waited ... and waited for 3 long hours until Dan called me. He was excited and said he got Cito to accept the deal. No interview but we know that Cito has what it takes. I can only pray for Clint though, his wife dead, I can't bare that but I'm not married and I'm 30 years old.

Right before I was going to sleep I received a call, it was on my cellphone and since I answered, "Hello?" I answered.

"Larry, remember me?" the voice crackly.

"No..."

"It's me Andrei."

"..."

"Don't talk! Listen! Well the news was wrong, Brian never killed Clint's wife or shot Clint. I did! I had been shooting and Clint won't learn yet because he saw Brian. I told you that if anything happened to Andreas you'd pay, well this is it. Brian and I were going to get you back and soon enough we'll own the Rockies, then the MLB, then all of sports, and finally we'll become president!"

"I didn't do anything to Andreas!"

"No, but you pretty much did. You broke him out and he is now a criminal, see we were plotting that he'd be killed and his body was dragged out of the prison but everyone saw him run, so now you're going to pay."

"Brian's in jail."

"Yeah he is, but you're going to break him out!"

"What are you crazy? They've located him in Guantanamo Bay! I can't get there!"

"Not my problem, you break him out or the Rockies will die off, I'll start with Todd, then Matt, then Jeff, then Dan, and THEN YOU!"

"Try me, we'll have so much security it'll get your head spinning."

"Who said I'm coming to the stadium?"

"What?"

"I'm going to kill them off at their homes like Clint died, except I won't get caught, Nick left the O's game after a fake injury and he ditched the team and he's with me, so it's 3 of us and one of you."

"Kill someone, by the way, this call is being transmitted and the police are hearing every word."

Another lie!

"No they're not, because if they were they'd be at my house. But I'd suggest that they should, now break out Brian and I will not harm you and instead go after another baseball team, such as the Yankees."

"What about Troy?"

"He was a decoy, he was never part of anything, that idiot will be locked up for a year and I won't help him."

"Alright, here's my deal, I'll get the cops to get off your back if you stay away from Colorado!"

"How about you break out Brian and I'll get out of Colorado, my final offer!"

"We'll see but thanks for telling me this, because halfway through the conversation I got my tape recorder playing!"

Yet another lie!

"Have fun with that, and get ready to die, have fun with your life ... while it lasts!"

He hung up and I did not know. "******** ... Andrei? HELLO!? HELLO!?"

I hung up, and I was going to tell everyone to be highly alarmed.

I woke up the next morning and contacted Colorado police and our entire team. I locked each and every door, put two security systems on, and my neighbor helped me install a lock to my large fence. Coors field was had police at each entrance, detectives on upper deck, guards on the field, and the dugout had a huge fence surrounding it.

I awaited our game and my eyes looked over the field, nothing. Cito Gaston missed his flight to Colorado so I entered the dugout as bench coach, Jaime Quirk took over for this 3 game home stand. I got into the players' locker room and found a few fans walking around. I looked around, no guards around me and all the players were in the dugout or taking batting practice. I took out my pocketknife and neared them. They heard me and turned around and as soon as they saw my knife they yelled and dropped on the ground. I took it back and stuck it in my pocket and told them there was nothing to worry about. I was cautious but I had a feeling they were bad news (wrong) but as soon as I turned around a man with a black hoody and black pants rushed toward me, I ducked and his knife missed me. The two fans caught him with a punch to the face and he dropped his knife as I kicked him to the ground. I unraveled the hoody and under it was Nick Markakis!

I took out my walkie talkie and called security. They were all the way on the warning track but they made it and managed to pull Nick away. I was scared and motioned for one of the security guards to stay with me for the rest of the game. Five minutes before the game started I saw men with black hats on similar to Troy and Brian's in their picture showed on the news. I paid no attention to them as they had gloves on and were asking for balls, just like a normal fan. I headed back to the dugout, talked with Jaime and the game began with Jaime making the calls. Here's how it all went down.

MAY 3rd vs. D-Backs

Tomko took the mound. Struck out the first batter in the game. Chad Tracy singled through the left side with 2 outs. Shawn Green was walked on a high fastball. He retired the side though stranding two. The first was slow for us except for a Holliday walk.

Brett gave up a bloop hit to Estrada to lead off the second and he advanced to second base. Estrada advanced on a ground ball and with the infield in Mark Reynolds walked. With Russ Ortiz, the pitcher batting he converted the suicide squeeze to score the first run of the ball game. Drew singled to score Reynolds from second. Hudson continued the innings with a single through the left side. Chad Tracy walked to load the bases and with Shawn Green batting he knocked a GIANT grand slam to give the Diamondbacks a 6-0 lead. I talked to Jaime and we got Mike DeJean heating up in the 'pen. Tomko finally ended the inning striking out Gonzalez. Brad got a leadoff walk. Atkins grounded into a double and Yorvit struck out.

Tomko retired Estrada and then DeJean came in to continue the inning. He struck out his first batter and Reynolds singled but Ortiz hit a fly ball and we got out of the inning. Luis Gonzalez was called out to pinch hit for DeJean and hit a double splitting the left field gap. Carroll singled to put runners on the corner. Ross Gload struck out and Holliday hit a sharp grounder.

David Cortes started off the inning for us. He hit Stephen Drew. Hudson hit a fielder's choice followed by a Tracy single. Green hit a ground ball advancing the runners. Luis Gonzalez drilled a 3-run shot to make the lead 9-0. Estrada came back with a homer and they hit back-to-back. I couldn't bare the embarrassment so I left the game and took a shower. We finished the game to lose 11-3. Hawpe had a homer and we used 5 relievers, I was saddened at this but Jaime would go again tomorrow.

I walked home and I met up with a homeless man, he was begging for money. I dropped him some change but he asked for more. I took out 2 bucks and gave it to him, he was grateful and I walked away. I turned my head and saw him pull something from his belt. A gun! I've seen about 10 of those in the past few days, now more. I knew someone would notice me so did one of the security guards. He gave me a bulletproof vest and I put it on after the game so a shot in the torso area would not harm me. He pulled the trigger and nailed me in the chest area so I whipped out my pocketknife, unharmed by the bullet and charged him. The man thought I was crouching to the ground but I managed to slice his arm with the blade and he got hurt. I stole the gun and ditched the scene with him bleeding.

A minute later another homeless man, and then another, soon enough there were around 5 begging for cash. I whipped out the gun though and they backed off. I was an open target and I think I know why. Andrei put money on my head. Guess what? When I got home the news said that he did just that, but I didn't care. I could handle myself so I got myself protection, bought 3 guns and located them in all different areas in my house in case someone tried. Soon after, I got a call, "Prison" it said on the caller ID. Hesitantly, I answered, "H...Hello?"

"LARRY! LARRY! It's me, it's Troy, I need to talk."

"How'd you get to call me, your in prison."

"I got my weekly phone call and I need to warn you."

"Warn me about what?"

"Well from what I heard, from a guard here, a friend of mine, Andrei is planning to bomb your house. It'll be a very small bomb, but if you're in 10 feet of it, you die. So if someone rings your doorbell, BACK AWAY!"

"Yeah, I'll believe you."

"Trust me, I have others who also said they knew about it, if you want to die, go ahead, I'm trying to be a good guy now. I'm not doing that stuff anymore, when I get out I'm staying away."

"I can handle myself, so back off you prick."

I hung up, what a loser. I bet he's trying to get me killed.

I woke up the next day and around 1, I was up in my room and I heard the doorbell. I looked out the window and saw two men running as the rang the bell. On my porch I noticed a circle shaped black object. Was Troy right? I called the police but by the time it got there, the bomb went off and my front door and my porch were destroyed. I shouldn't act so cocky anymore. The neighbor saw where the men went, to a house next door. The cops found them, it was two 18 year olds who were just graduating. Each were sent to court and their identities were found out. One was named Shawn Markakis and the other Tomas Milakas. Each nephews of Andrei, they were bad news. I bet he would send another man after me and then another, I had to find him, and I HAD to stop him or my life will be taken and the world will be in jeopardy.

* Lance Berkman out for a season ending injury
* Zach Day out for a season ending injury
* Greg Maddux out for season/career ending injury
* Jorge Posada out for 3 months

After reviewing over this I got the best news of my life. The cops found the Markakis' hideout and caught 5 members of their family including Andrei and Andreas. They were at a cocaine warehouse. I am so relieved, my life has been saved by the police, I have nothing to worry about. The police gave me some bad news though, Yorvit was caught drinking and driving. I felt bad for him but he paid his bail. I have some bad news though, Yorvit will miss our game today. Miguel Ojeda will start for us. More bad news though, Clint had a seizure and is at risk of dying. One last thing (what's up with all this bad news), Dan called to inform me Cito isn't happy with our last loss and doesn't think he wants to manage us and said he was dedicated to only one team, the Blue Jays. WHAT A LOSER?! What is his problem, I should fire him on the job and hire bench coach Jaime Quirk. The idiot said if we don't win our next 2 games, he's taking the next flight to Hot-Lanta.

I stayed home tonight though, and looked over a few contracts. I gave Aaron a call on his cellphone. He answered, "...Who is it?"

"Aaron, it's me Larry!"

"Yeah, what do you need?"

"Leave the game, bring your agent, we need to talk."

"Are you sure?"

"Super sure!"

"Alright, I'll do it."

Aaron took his time but finally made it to my house. I told his agent who came with him that I would like to re-sign Aaron because his performance has been off the charts lately and we want him to stay in Colorado for a while. Since Aaron was 27, I could sign him for a while. I made this deal, 3 years, $2.9 million. He declined and I nodded my head. My next deal was 4 years, $2.5 million. He declined and said he wanted 4 years, $2.6 million, and a player option in 2010. I happily agreed and Aaron will be a Rockie for four years. Our game was starting and I clicked open my T.V.

MAY 4th vs. Diamondbacks

We took game 2 of this series. Francis lasted 7.1 innings but gave up 4 runs, which was a bit shaky. Manny Corpas earned the save and is going to develop into a great closer. Todd hit a 2 run bomb over the left field fence for his seventh, Garrett Atkins hit a leadoff homer and Miguel Ojeda hit one right after for back-to-back shots. Cesar pitched in with 2 RBIs and Jamey Carroll scored on a wild a pitch after he tripled.

ROCKIES 7-4

MAY 5th vs. Diamondbacks

Yorvit missed the game, and I was mad as I watched this game up close in the stands. Dejavu? We lost 11-3 once again just like our series opener. Jason Jennings allowed 6 but the relief were horrid and gave up 5 more. Gload hit a solo shot while Atkins had an RBI and Carroll scored on a Holliday DP which was not accounted for. I really shook my head here and Jennings isn't doing anything good for us so his days could be numbered.

Diamondbacks 11-3

(Going to attempt to make it mostly games now, the drama has ended ... for now but more to come, this should be it for now though.)

We had a day off but I scheduled a practice, mostly for pitching but we were missing a key factor. Our starting catcher, Yorvit. First he gets caught drinking, misses our second game, then he misses on third game, and now he misses practice. I need to get a hold of him. Yorvit doesn't talk English well so I asked who knew how to speak his language. Cesar raised his hand and volunteered. I called up Yorvit and someone picked up. I heard Cesar begin talking and then the conversation heated up. Soon enough Cesar hung up with an angry look on his face. I asked Cesar, "Hey Cesar, what happened?"

"Not good, not good."

"I need to know."

"Well, first off, he said he got caught drinking again today."

"Why did you yell?"

"He was yelling and saying bad words, he said he wants to quit, I don't know man, he a bit coo coo."

"Anything else?"

"He mentioned, he wanted money or he would not play for us ever again."

"How much?"

"$5 million for 3 years."

"You can tell him to take his raggedy self and **** off."

"I can not, I hung up."

"Here's what I'll do, if he really doesn't want to be on the team, I'll talk with his agent and rip the contract into pieces, and he's fired. Capish?"

"Yes sir."

"Now I need to go call his agent."

I picked up the phone, found my phone book and proceeded to call Yorvit's agent, "Mr. Yasiris?" I began.

"εμπρός"

"What?"

"ο οποίο αυτός"

"Hello, Mr. Yasiris, who is this?"

"γαμώ"

"What? WHO IS THIS? WHO ARE YOU! WHO ARE YOU! WHO ARE YOU!"

"Mark, kak, as"

"Mah, who?"

"εγώ κρεμάζω πάνω"

"WHO IS THIS?"

"...εγώ toμῦ markἄλφακάππα"

"...W...What? I'm hanging up."

He hung up and I was left guessing, what did he just say, what language. Who was I talking too. ****! I'm in trouble, ****, ****, ****!

(That's a different language, you may or may not know, but your never going to guess what it said, it'll be revealed later on ;)

Later on, I left to go on the team plane to take the flight to San Francisco. Just as I had predicted, Yorvit had yet to attend and I needed some way of communicating with him. The players joked saying Yorvit was a "big league player." I whipped out my cellphone and called Yorvit and his agent picked up, "Hi, who is this?" his agent answered.

"It's me Larry, you're in trouble."

"No you are, according to my calculations, when Yorvit was traded, he was supposed to be re-signed at year end last year."

"No he wasn't."

"Yes he was!"

"What's your point?"

"You blew off his contract and he thought he had gotten a 4 million dollar boost in his contract."

"No!"

"So know that he learned of this, he's quitting. If you want him back, your chances are slim and unless you give him a 2 year, 5 million dollar contract, have fun with no catcher."

"You can tell him to go find another team to join, because his contract is as good as gone. In fact it's in my finds. I'll let you decide though, let Yorvit fill out the year or I rip it up."

"RIP IT UP! Yorvit wants to be on a playoff contending team, not a team like Rockies. Remember one thing, you'll pay, oh hell yes you will."

I thought about what Clint said to Brian and repeated, "Is that threat?"

"No, it's not, it's a god damn PROMISE!"

"Well, one last question. Are you a part of that group that has threatened me and severely hurt Clint?"

"You want the truth?"

"...Yeah, I DO!"

"Well, you *****, the answer is F OFF!"

He hung up and I was suspicious but Yorvit didn't seem like he was associated with Brian. I got back to flight and we took off.

We got to San Francisco rather quickly and we checked into our hotels, rested, and ate.

We woke up early, we had a 4:55 game today. The Giants were riding Barry Bonds' hitting (he's looking to hit over 750 home runs). We entered our dugout and there stood Yorvit Torrealba along with his agent dressed in a suit. I was surprised and told my players to get dressed. I came closer, "What do you want?"

"You made a bad idea, Larry!"

"A bad idea, is that so?"

"Very, and by the way we're the Markakis' ROCKIES YOU..."

He was cut off as I heard Jeff scream, "HE'S GOT A GUN, GET OUT OF THERE!"

I looked at the agents belt and found a gun badly hidden in it. I charged at him and brought him down but no one noticed Yorvit's gun. He whipped it out and I was motionless. My heart pounding, I could not move. A shot, and I'm dead. Miguel Ojeda and Manny Corpas' lockers were the closest to the dugout. They were at Yorvit's side but Yorvit had his entire face focused on me so if Miguel or Manny crawled over to him, he would not see. Miguel pulled out his glove and crawled to the ground coming toward Yorvit while Manny whipped out his belt and started turning back walking toward Yorvit ever so sightly. Miguel tossed his glove at Yorvit and it hit him in the leg, he was unharmed but all of his attention was on Miguel. This gave Manny the opportunity to whip him with the belt in the neck. Yorvit suffered a giant blow and dropped on one knee while Manny whipped him again making him drop his gun and falling to the ground.

I was so relieved still having hold of the agent. I motioned for bench coach, Jaime Quirk to call security. He ran into the dugout, found a security guard and told him to come and we explained the incident. Later on, the police figured out Yorvit's agent was apart of the group, but was unrelated to any of the Markakis'. Yorvit was tricked into helping them. Yorvit's agent said there's more of them, and I put my palm on my head hoping for it to end.

I had no clue what to do. Cito didn't show, Jaime is traumatized, the team has witnessed attempted murder, Dan is afraid to even come out of his house, and me well I've gone from lottery winner to well a man with a target on my head. WHEN DOES IT END? Oh and one last thing, OUR GAME STARTS IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES!

My team was fully dressed except for Jaime who said he had quit the team. No bench coach, no head coach, how bad can it get? I was forced to help manage the team, well not help, but fully manage the team. Yorvit was going to court for now. Alexi Casilla would take over his roster spot when he comes to San Francisco tomorrow. I had Cook taking some practice pitches and Carroll getting ready for the opening pitch. The game finally began as I made the calls in the dugout.

MAY 7th vs. Giants

This has to be a joke! Pedro Feliz knocks in the winning run on a pitching duel. It as a 1-0 game that went to San Francisco. An infield single that was handled by none other than Jamey Carroll. We had runners on the corners with an out and Garrett Atkins blows it with a double play. Aaron Cook's performance was amazing as he gave up one run in 8 innings for a complete game.

GIANTS 1-0

MAY 8th vs. Giants

HOMERFEST! An extra innings, extra run game. Brad Hawpe came up with the big hit with a HUGE homer to deep right center that scored two! Todd was hot, he was 3-5 walking twice, scoring 4 times, had two jacks, and 3 RBIs. Matt & Miguel had a homer each, Matt a solo shot, Miguel a 3-run bomb. Jamey had 2 RBIs while Garrett chipped in with one. Cesar had 2 RBIs along with 3 hits. Pitching wise we didn't do too good. Tomko gave up 4 earned and the relief 8 earned. We won though, and that's all that matters.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k137/rawr20062006/hawpe.png

ROCKIES 15-13

MAY 9th vs. Giants

We won the series, sweet! Josh was on the mound and he was fantastic, giving up one run over 8 innings and Manny earned the save. Matt hit a 2 run shot while Todd hit his 10th homer, which was a solo jack in the 8th. Ross and Miguel chipped in with an RBI a piece.

ROCKIES 5-2

After the game I began talking with some girls and a bit of flirting was involved and I got myself a number. :D I left the game and got a call on my cell, didn't bother to see who was calling. "Larry ... Larry Liberg, is this you?"

"Yeah, if you want to shoot me come out with, because I'm tired of you guys."

"It's not that, I want to manage your team!"

"And you are, who Bob Markakis, ha ha."

"Actually that is my name, how'd you know."

"WHAT?!"

"I'm joking, I'm joking! GOTCHA! I wish I could've seen the look on your face."

"Then who are you, I'm going to call the police if you don't come out with it."

"I'm Billy."

"Billy who?"

"Billy Cartman, don't laugh."

"Who's laughing? Now, if your going to threaten my life can you just do it?"

"Look me up, ask the police, I'm not associated with anybody. I swear, even bring police when you meet me."

"Meet you?"

"Yeah, I was hoping I could fly to Washington, go to the game and meet with you."

"Have you ever managed before."

"High school, and the minors but don't worry I'm good."

"Fine, meet me at this location in Washington, well I only know one place. Do you know were the new stadium that just started being built is?"

"You mean Nationals' Park?"

"Yeah, there is a little coffee place pretty close to it, don't recall the name, sorta like Starbucks, find it and meet me there."

"Alright, don't worry you won't ..."

The phone call went off and I heard static. Unknown to me the other men's sentence ended like this..."Alright, don't worry you won't ... die just yet. "()

I was happy with myself since I finally got a manager.

(The end of the sentence isn't known to Larry, but it will be later on.)

Well, this dynasty has been not so fun anymore, I mean the drama was fun while it lasted but it's over, I hope you enjoyed. I'll keep the file if I ever decide to continue the dynasty. New dynasty coming soon, it's going to be between these.

Detroit Tigers 2000-2003: Cigar's dynasty has been inspiring and I want to start from **** to the top.

Detroit Tigers 2008: Want to show everyone that the real life Tigers' manager wasn't very good, and I know loads about the team.

Houston Astros 2006: A super stacked team, Berkman, Clemens, Oswalt, Taveras, Lidge, & Pettitte.

Oakland Athletics 2007: What would happen with this team is they never traded all their stars?

I'm in a knot between the 00-03 Tigers & '06 Astros.

I know, I know, why did I do a dynasty on the Astros for a month, then quit and come back to this one, well one reason, boring, I got burned out very quickly, the boredom hit me, I didn't want to go monthly or anything so I'm continuing from what happened at the end of this dynasty. So if you liked part 1, get ready for Season 2, filled with more drama, more intensity, and hopefully more wins. (Astros dynasty on hiatus)

I made my way onto the team plane and we got into it with our luggage. I was scared and anxious in meeting Mr. Cartman. Midway through the flight, the pilot took off the seat belt sign and I got up in front of the whole team and announced something. "Men, I want to ask you a question."

The squad turned their head toward me pulling up a new device just like a couch that gives footrests. "I will ask you, are any of you guys involved in any terrorist attacks or involved with the Markakis crew, I want an answer, if you are admit it because I'm sick and tired of it!"

After a few seconds, they all responded, "Nah!"

"Alright, well if you hear anything inform me because if you don't you'll end up like ... Mr. Hurdle or Troy. By the way, I'm meeting with a man named Billy Cartman for the manager job, does anybody know him or ever heard of him?"

I looked around and saw some players thinking. Atkins and Hawpe cleared out their voices but it was Hawpe who spoke, "Larry... Mr. Liberg, my dad knows him."

"Who is he?"

"Well my dad has seen him perform leg surgery, work at McDonald's, and an electrician. He's a multi-tasker, my dad knows him well, he's friends with him, but that's all I know."

"Thank you Brad, and you can call me Larry, that's all continue your business."

So he's a multi-tasker, not bad, I hope he's not also a serial killer. I sat in my luxury seat and took a short nap.

A few hours later, we arrived at our destination in Washington D.C. I was escorted off the plane by two guards and let them leave as I made my way to the coffee joint. I got there quickly from a cab I got on. I stepped out of the cab and entered the joint and saw around the medium sized Starbucks trying to locate Billy Cartman. I noticed on my left side a man clicking the table with two coffees on both sides of the table staring at me. He was a blonde and had eye glasses tilted downward. He motioned for me to come over and walked over to him, my shoes clicking on the marble floor as I walked toward him and I had a nice view of the construction on the new Nationals' stadium.

We stared at each other, he smiled and then started the conversation sipping his coffee, "Well, let's get straight to it, I want to manage your team and I'll provide a bench coach too."

"Alright, how much experience do you actually have?"

"I've managed two minor league teams, three high school teams, and once in college."

"Fine, I really have no choice but to accept you since well I'm out a manager. Well one of my players said his dad is friends with you, you have many jobs, is that true?"

"Yeah, it is. I have a computer if you want to look me up, I'm not a bad guy, I'm not in any way related to those guys, if you hire me, your problems are solved."

"I'd like to believe you but I can't."

"I see, well once you get your life together, talk to me."

"Who wait, who said I didn't want to hire you? I only said I don't believe you because I can't trust anyone that is not related to me, but your hired. Get me that bench coach and come to our game."

"The game today?"

"Yeah, I want you on the job now because I have business to take care of, so take over the team, good luck."

"Thank you, you won't be sorry."

I nodded and slowly walked away making my way out the glass door. Right when I pushed it open, I heard Billy mutter something, "...You will .... p ..."

I couldn't make out the words so I continued my exit but I was very suspicious. Although, my choices were practically slim to one. I had a meeting with teams interested in trading for Troy, which was stupid in my opinion. It was 3 PM and our game started at 5. I went to meet with the general manager of the Houston Astros, he wasn't too nice but I was hoping to work out a deal for maybe Hunter Pence. I called him over the phone to discuss it, "... Hello?" he answered.

"Hey, I'm Larry .. Liberg, you probably know me."

"Of course, Mr. Liberg, Rockies' owner, what do you need."

"Well I'm serving as their GM because Dan O' Dowd is a bit paranoid so I was thinking that maybe we could work out a deal for Hunter Pence involving Troy Tulowitzki."

... He hung up, that was rude so I went to my second option, the St. Louis Cardinals. I was interested in Yadier Molina seeing as how we're lacking a good catcher. It took two phone calls but their GM answered, "Larry Liberg, what do you need?"

"Your catcher, Molina, but we'll have to involved Tulowitzki."

"I can deal him but for Troy plainly, no! I need more."

"Are you joking? Troy is the next best thing in the majors. He might even get his jail sentence reduced, his trial is tomorrow and if he's found not guilty, he could get into the majors by August or the end of July."

"But what happens if he is found guilty?"

"Then you'll have to take the risk."

"Why can't we do the trade after the trial?"

"Because if you don't trust me, why should I deal with you?"

"Do you want me to leave, how about this, I'll take the risk if you add a prospect?"

"Like?"

"Ubaldo Jimenez?"

"I want Ankiel back."

"Man, if Troy is found guilty, I'm going to look like an idiot."

"The only reason he went to jail was because of Brian, he'll be found not guilty, trust me."

"How am I supposed to believe that?"

"I'll give a million bucks as well."

"I can deal with that, but I don't know."

"Just say yes. Ubaldo is 22, Ankiel is 26, so come on do it."

"I ... can't, my team will suffer from it, I'm really so...."

"JUST SAVE IT!" I shouted.

I slammed the phone shut and I decided to keep away from any trades and just enjoy the game, I hope Troy suffers in jail, because I'm going to go against him.

The game went properly, no interruptions, no assassination attempts, no guns, just a peaceful game of baseball! I did not attend because I was planning my speech against Troy and get him in jail for a couple more years.

MAY 8th vs. Nationals

Jeff Francis pitched the best ball game he's pitched this season, 8 innings, one UNEARNED run and only 4 hits! Ross Gload did well going 2-5 with 2 RBIs. Todd blasted a solo shot off of John Patterson for his second hit of the ball game and his final hit. Garrett Atkins was on fire proving his position on the team going 4-4, scoring twice and had himself an RBI. Ojeda went 2-5, thankfully so that we don't have to trade for a catcher immediately. Izturis had himself a hit, got walked, scored a run, and had 2 RBIs. Jeff Francis helped his cause with a base hit. Overall, we're pleased and Cartman proved himself although his bench coach was in a meeting up in Jersey so he could not make it. Cartman should be a great addition, I like him.

ROCKIES 6-1

Oh did I forget to mention Jamey Carroll went out for 12 days, so Casilla came in for now. After I finished walking the game I got into bed early to get ready for our 10 AM trial.

TULOWITZKI TRIAL PART 1

I took my seat in the front and Troy took his on the defendant's stand with a really expensive lawyer, around $400 or $500 an hour! Could even exceed that and this might be a long day. The judge had a shiny name plate in which "Judge Campbell" was engraved and right next to her was her gavel. The jury was in another section of the court house. Behind us were witnesses, family members, and other associated men and women. The trial began with a simple sentence from Troy, then me, and the judge nodded. I had said Troy allegedly stuck drugs and steroids into my pocket and may have been smoking on some marijuana and cocaine. Although he was sentenced for perjury, the trial began with the judge talking.

Judge: Well I've gotten statements from both the defendant and the opposing party. So Mr. Tulowitzki was sentenced to 11 months in prison for perjury and obsession of illegal drugs. But what Mr. Liberg is saying is that he had smoked the drugs and was very "high" so Mr. Brian Fuentes took advantage of him and forced him to do this.
Troy: No, no, I had not smoked the drugs, if I had wouldn't someone know. The reason I did what I did was because Brian Fuentes held me at gunpoint. For no reason he told me to stick them in your pocket.
Me: That's 100% of ********!
Judge:EXCUSE ME! I don't want that language in my courthouse. Mr. Tulowitzki, you want to be found innocent and get out of jail, correct?
Troy: Yeah, and I should be found innocent.
Judge: And you Mr. Liberg want to sentence him to his year plus some more time for smoking and taking the drugs, correct?
Me: Uh huh!
Judge: Well here's how I see it, I need some proof that you, Mr. Tulowitzki did get held at gunpoint by Mr. Fuentes. While on the other Mr. Liberg, I need proof that he smoked the drugs. It's way out of his system so any tests are negative and always will be. So unless those drugs are found somewhere...
Me: Judge, I know where to find the drugs! I know!
Judge: Exactly where would that be?"
Me: His house, I bet this idiot had them stashed at the top of the closet in his room and didn't get rid of them.
Troy: CHECK!
Judge: Mr. Tulowitzki, calm down, this trial will be continued, let me get my two finest detectives over Mr. Tulowitzki's apartment house, you may take a water break. By the way release Mr. Tulowitzki because we're going to his house, all of us and that's where the trial continues, I hope your lawyer was well worth it.

I stared at Troy giving him a furious look and took my cheap lawyer with me as I went to get a water break and then get over to Tulowitzki's **** hole.

Troy Tulowitzki Outside The Court House (In Troy's View)

That idiot, he though he could get me put back but this is the first of my plots, now to call a friend of mine, he picked up on the second ring, "Hello?" he answered.

"Hey it's me Troy, that idiot, Liberg is taking the trial to my house, get rid of the stuff, NOW!"

"Alright boss."

The idiot will look like a fool and he will lose his ownership, ha ha ha.

TULOWITZKI TRIAL PART 2

We got to his house, it was small on the second story on an apartment building. Two detectives searched the house as I waited outside. Walking down the stairs was a man, looked Greek. In fact his appearance was sort of like Billy's. Though he had a mole on his chin which differed him. In his hand was a small bag with plant leaves, but it wasn't, it was weed and marijuana. He darted down the stairs and ran away before I could speak to him buy my suspicion grew. That might have been the drugs Troy had stashed, that smart little b***h. After around 25 minutes the judge came to a conclusion.

Judge: Well, gentlemen my detectives are turned this house upside down and the closest thing to drugs was a can of beer.
Me: Trust me, he has them somewhere else, I can guarantee he had them. A man was walking down the stairs and he had taken them away. I bet if you run a full scan of what's in his...
Troy: Save it, you lost, you should be locked up.
Judge: Unfortunatly, he's right. No evidence, no drugs, case is practically on the verge of over. Need the final word from the jury.
Me: You actually think he's truthful, HE STUCK DRUGS IN MY POCKET and committed perjury. How isn't he in jail.
Judge: Well, perjury means lying in court, which he did not do.
Me: I was there, he got scanned.
Judge: You may have thought that guy was a judge, but he was a false judge with no degree and the trial should have not of occurred. The scan was 95% false.
Troy: I was falsely accused, the entire hearing was 100% false.
Me: That can't be.
Judge: It can and it will, if the majority of the jury goes ahead and says that Troy is found guilty, he'll be locked up but if we don't uncover all the facts by at least 2 weeks, he'll be freed.
Me: Fine, you can keep the jury out of it because Troy, you'll pay.
Troy: Is that a threat?
Me: No, it's not but you'll get your just desserts, trust me.
Troy: Oh go...

The judge slammed her hand against the wall twice and shouted, "Order in court, case CLOSED!"

I exited the building and found myself at the bottom of the stairs but behind me was Troy who tapped my shoulder ...

TULOWITZKI TRIAL CONCLUSION

I exited the building and found myself at the bottom of the stairs but behind me was Troy who tapped my shoulder and socked me in the FACE. I tumbled to the ground and he knelt down and spoke to me softly. "So you thought you could lock me up, huh?"

I whispered as quietly as I could, "You should be locked up, but you will soon."

He slapped me in the face, "I hope you die, here's what I'll do, hand me over the right to own the Rockies or you'll pay."

The last words I said to him were, "Is that a threat?"

He gave a small grin, "No, it's not, it's a PROMISE! You've heard that before right?"

My mouth was about to open but he got up and kicked me in the ribs twice and some blood spewed from my mouth and I attempted to get up but he pushed me back to the ground, "Don't try to get up, you never EVER try to lock up or any of us Markakis' Rockies! Oh and if you try to tell the press or anyone that, your brother will be targeted and shot down."

I continued to lay there unable to talk but inside I was going to get him. He punched me once again and walked away. He took one last turn before he left, "Get ready!'

My eyes flickered shut but I got them open and barely made my way to my feet and limped over to the courthouse bathroom unnoticed to clean myself up. I gulped and washed off the blood. My only thoughts were that anyone who answered "Is that a threat?" with "No, it's a promise," is a part of there crew. I pondered my options as I left the court house and went to my car.

When I got to my car, the expression on my face showed it all. My main window was smashed and the side windows were x'ed out. I kicked my car door and looked around for any men who did it but my suspect was one man, Troy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next 2 days were quick and my only drama was looking for suspect, no one except for me and him knew about the car as I was able to get it fixed it up after our Nationals game. By the way Alexi slipped and banged it head on his coffee table and will be out for 4 days getting a concussion. Luis Gonzalez will get the next few starts and swap lineup spots with Izturis.

MAY 11th vs. Nationals

We win in a giant nail-biter. We had a 4-1 advantage going into the ninth but Manny Corpas allowed 2 runs and runners on first and second with two outs. On a great 2-2 slider he clinched the victory and the save. Jason Jennings was beautiful in his start going 7.2 innings and gave up a single run. Our offense scored us 4 good runs. Holliday went 2-4, scored 2 runs, and slammed a solo homer into the seats along with an RBI. Gonzalez did a decent job and had a two-run double. Our only other run came off a Ryan Drese wild pitch scoring Matt Holliday. Izturis led off and went 2-3 walking once but did get caught stealing.

ROCKIES 4-3

We were ready to get the brooms out and we gave Ryan Spilborghs some starts at right for Ross Gload who was feeling tired. We let Barmes get a test run at short to give him some more experience and gave Helton a day off to relax and started rookie, Shealy. Our lineup looks like this:

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/9643/capturede2.jpg

MAY 12th vs. Nationals

Cook pitched his third complete game, second straight. That's real nice, he went the yard and gave up only 3 runs. Our offense prevented the sweep as we only achieved 6 hits. Hawpe went 2-3, scored a run, and had an RBI. Our other RBI came off of a Garrett Atkins' RBI double. Choo Freeman had himself a base hit, scored a run, and stole a base as did Hawpe. Miguel Ojeda went 2-4 doing a decent job. That was the game, and did I mention how much I hate Jose Guillen and his go-ahead 2-run double?

NATIONALS 3-2

Well 1.5 back from wild card, 4 back from first. I like our performance, now I need to set out to get a starting catcher because that's what we're lacking right now. Billy Cartman has gone 2-1 and all the players like the bench coach but he is still giving me second thoughts.

I attached a camera to my upstairs window for the night to see if the culprit would strike twice. As always I was correct, two men with black hats, in their mid-30s, white too. They took a gun shattered my newly repaired window and left a note. I saw this through my camera after fast forwarding through it until it showed what I was looking for. I got outside in my robe with a gun inside of the pockets and read the note,

"Dear Rockies' Owner,

We are apart of the Markakis' Rockies, our names are hidden. You may be wondering why your car has been damaged. You can thank Mr. Markakis and Mr. Tulowitzki for that. If you try to rat us out, your life will become a living hell, this is what you do. You march down to the prison where Brian, Andrei, and Andreas are. You will do as followed. Step 1. Meet Nick in front of The Alamo at Texas. Rather weird but just do it or else. Step 2. You will get into a car blindfolded and driven by Nick and his personal friend/bodyguard to the prison house. Step 3. You will arrive at the time when the inmates will be outside in the prison field. After that Nick will get your two into the prison and into the field. Then you find Andreas and Andrei and you may take Brian. Step 4. Nick's friend will assist you into destroying the steel gate walls. They will slowly melt and you will make an exit but there's a catch. You must repair the fence so no other inmates can escape. I know you have to go to Arizona but go to Texas first and get there by at most 1 PM and the job could take a few hours. After you break out the inmates you will be driven to Arizona since the Prison is very close to the border. You will make it there before 7:00 PM and then your life will get on peacefully.

Now, if this procedure is not followed. Bad things will occur. Your house will be bombed and you will sniped down. If you attempt to get into witness protection or any other company associated like that you will be found and killed with a pistol. Oh and if you can find me and my friend, there are over 20 of us. Unless we're all caught you can't stop this. You should get ready, because unless your off to Texas in an hour, your screwed, don't ask how we know this but if you think we're lying don't follow these directions. Move all the way back to your house, get dressed and stay away from your neighbor's car because flames will erupt that could harm you. Thank you very much!

Signed, Your Worst Nightmare"

I listened and the car of my neighbor exploded as I ran into my house. I wasn't listening, I couldn't. I had to stay away from them. The police would get involved, now to organize a civilized plan.

I can't disband this dynasty, I'll end up finishing it, if it's the last thing I do, the Tigers' dynasty will continue in due time as well, but I will take breaks after a few posts because it takes time to get my ideas straight and I need refreshing every so often, the Israeli dynasty gave me ideas, not involving Israel but ideas. And the dramas back, Baseball Mogul : We Know Drama (From TNT commercial) !

--------------------------------------
With me denying their plea to save Andrei and Andreas, I was worried. I called up two of the stadium security guards, Jim & Mike but neither arrived frightening me. I left out the backdoor and hopped over my neighbors fence to take a different route to the stadium. It was 12:45, I had the chance to try and get to Texas but I would be well late as I was still up in DC looking to catch my flight which I was meant to be on yesterday but decided against it. I walked a few blocks until I reached my friend's Ferrari which he let me drive after I explained the situation. I left watching my back and I noticed two black SUVs on my sides. Two men with the Greek flag (sticker) on their front window. They stared at me, and I gulped as one of them pulled out a black object. It wasn't a gun but it was sharp, it wasn't anything really. I caught a shortcut cutting them off but they met me again on my route to the airport. The man on my right edged me in the guy on the right. They attempted to squish me but I pulled over trying to trick them. They fell for it but stopped in due time, a few seconds after I had stopped. I made an escape when I saw a gun being pulled out, we were on a bridge and I made my way to the stairs going down, I flipped down to the ground and hid behind the staircase. The road was clear so the men shot anywhere they could. Both men split and I got the chance to get behind one of them. I caught his leg and tripped him as he fell onto the ground dropping his gun. I took his gun, smacked him with it and hopped back onto the stairs to drive off.

I made a great getaway but the man saw me and shot one of my tires, I got far away and pulled over to change the tire. It took over 25 minutes (bad mechanical skills) and I got to the airport, and boarded my plane just on time, 1:45 PM. When I boarded the plane, I saw the man that chased me down, the man I stole the gun from. On his left was the other man, I fell but was assisted by the stewardess. I was in awe, trying to get off the plane but the doors quickly shut and I feared my life, hoping they wouldn't try another 9/11. The Greek are tricky. I should just quit the team, my life is nearing the end, breathing hard and tough, this was it. I blacked out, my body couldn't bear what would happen next ...
