I have been considering something of this nature for a long time. Who would be interested in a live draft to create a league?

"What is the guy talking about?" you are probably saying...

Well, what I mean is have a live draft on yahoo msg (you can download it in 10 mins...) In yahoo msg, we can create a room to do the draft in chat, and perform a draft and run the league from that draft.

We would use contracts that the players have established already.

I am actually considering doing something of this nature in the beginning of 2003, and I am just curious if you guys think it is feasable. I believe one problem would be getting 30 guys together at one time (usually Saturday or Sunday evenings are best...)

Just curious to hear your response!

I'd love that!

However I think there should be a timer. I did a draft myself on the CD version of Baseball Mogul 2003 and it took me 2 hours to complete it (let alone 30 people which could take as long as the NFL Draft!).

Maybe there could be a timer, when that team surpasses that amount of time it would be forfieted. Or there could be a shorter number of rounds like instead of 63 (for drafting all players) there could be 40 instead.

that we could each pick a team, and keep 10 players off that team, and the rest of the players would be in the draft... that would shorten it some... (plus it would allow for a sense of team ownership as well...)

Just another thought!!!

instead of beginning of 2003 you should do it at the beginning of august =)

Weve tried it before. It could work but it took us over 2 weeks to draft.

I think it is doable. but a real test of everybody's time. If we can find a viable time for everyone, I would be willing to give it a try.

Count me in if you want to give it a try.

that you could use...the only drawback is some of the players(with fictional names) are not in their listing...you can add up to 99 players...this way you can have a website and make sure somebody is not drafted twice...anyway it is a long drwan out process, but my thinking is if you're going to do it keeping 10 players is way too much...why do a draft then? just make it an unlimited drop league...but i would suggest keeping 3 players max...oh and can you get 30 gm's in the chatroom???last time that was also one of our problems...***also you could start out drafting more than 1 player from the start...maybe start by drafting 2 players, then 3 then 4 and so on...just a few thoughts...good luck***
