We had an odd number of people at my Martial Arts Black Belt class one day, so one person during sparing had to hit the bag instead because they would have no partner. So it was my turn at the bag. I had hit the bag so hard, and something inside of me went off on the bag. My instructor, who was sparring as well...turn around to see what all the noise was. He quickly said it was just boomboom Bobby. The nickname stuck, and that is what I generally use for my old e-mail accounts and forum accounts :)

No. I'm at Metro State College of Denver.

But my dad and uncle both went to the U of O.

And I grew up rooting for them in everything.

I don't know if I would go there...I hear Oregon's a crazy place to live. Plus, I love living in Denver.

slowrx7 = we had a clique of mustang drivers here in town that called themselves variants of slow like slow302 slowfox, etc, which is funny because the trendstarter was flyslow which wasn't fly slow but like flies low. So i called my mazda rx-7 slowrx7 because I could easy take out the 5.0 stangs on a circuit.

yankee hater - well who doesnt hate the yankees?

belial - demon god, evil, cast out a multi of mine on alter aeon, optionally a name for satan

boa - my character at alter aeon, originally made to mock some dude named doa animus messor. The character got pretty buff, so I use boa as a moniker.

of course South Park, but with a popular name like Cartman, I had to have a number at the end. After like 20 tries, I got mad and did 00000001. The amount of numbers are important because I was thinking of the 8.3 naming convention.

Here is a link to those who may not know what the 8.3 naming convention is.

For sure. Denver is a great city.

I have fun everytime I visit my Uncle in Massachusetts and we go to Boston and I would have to say if I got a job offer in Boston I would think it over hard because of how much I love that city but Denver is my home and I don't know if I want to leave.

The only bad part of Colorado is the part by Kansas...

Yeah, it's great. I always tell people that no matter what you're into (sports, outdoors, etc.), Colorado has it. Denver is great and Coors Field is amazing too. I was going to attend the University of Denver years ago but didn't at the last minute because of family issues at home. My favorite part of the state is driving along I70 and going through all those little "mountain towns". I remember years ago falling in love with Edwards, Colorado. Unfortunately, it's associated with that Kobe Bryant rape trial now.

Coach Owens
09-16-2008, 12:27 AM
A few years ago, my brother was on a summer baseball team. There was the head coach, who they called Coach Art and then there was the assistant coach, the worst coach of all time. Coach Owens. Me and my brother loved to make fun of Owens, mostly since he was obese. There were a lot of hilarious moments with Owens. Like one time, he arrived like a half hour late for pratice and Art made him run a lap around the field. Instead, Owens just walked around the whole way. He would also often give kids money to go run over and buy him a bucket of chicken during games. Another time, some kids were goofing off and climbing the wire fence. Owens came over and told them to get off so he could climb on it. He bet the kids that he could get over it in less than 10 seconds and said something along the lines of "I learned this running from the Popo." He got like halfway up then fall off onto his back where he wasn't hurt but was so fat that he couldn't get up by himself. He started yelling and asking the kids for help.

Finally, we were at a Mariners game with my brother's team. We saw Owens before the game and he started throwing the ball from one hand to the other while bobbing his head. He asked "What position do you want to play, Marshall (my brother)? I'll tell Art to play you there next game." and my brother was like "Uh, second base?". Then Owens replied "Center field?" and my brother, annoyed said "No, second base." Then, for some unexplained reason, Owens said "I heard you, I heard you, center field. I'll tell Art to play you in center field next game."

Ahhh I 70. My parents had a condo in Eagle for a few years and his trial was there and we drove by the court house. Woah. Talk about a media circus. So many people there.

I love the mountain part of I70. Rifle, Colorado though...if you have ever been...might be the weirdest town in the world...

Me and a few friends were bored in the 7th grade one day so we made some really stupid nicknames that rhymed. In this discussion, we actually had an Asian, white guy, black and a Latino. They were all stupid and a bit racy (wont discuss about them) and all were forgotten but mine for some reason. So everyone started to call me Asian invasion and I really didn't care.

Mine actually dates all the way back to 1984(!) or so. I was on the BITNET Relay for the first time and needed a username. I looked all around the lab, didn't see anything for an idea, then looked down and realized I was wearing my Orioles t-shirt. Kept it all during the 1980s and 1990s on IRC when EFNet was the only option out there. (We just hand-cranked the computers back in those days.)

The caret got added later, when "oriole" was taken by someone else - reportedly, O's shortstop Lenn Sakata. I got it from an acquaintance who used a caret in her ID...also, it's meant to invoke a flying bird.
